We report the design, fabric.tion, and c.arac.erization of a universal silic.n PN junc.ion ring resonator for c.band error-free c.mmunic.tion links operated up to 50 Gb/s with c.-designed optic.l modulation and detec.ion performanc.. The universal p-n junc.ion ring devic. shows c.-designed detec.ion responsivity up to 0.84 A/W, in c.njunc.ion with a modulation effic.enc. of -4 V·mm and>8 d B optic.l modulation extinc.ion ratio, enabling c.band 50 Gb/s NRZ c.mmunic.tion link with a bit error rate≤3×10^(-12).

Human-wildlife c.nflic. has been one of the most trouble-c.using issues in many areas of Nepal inc.uding Eastern Nepal. This study assessed the human-wildlife c.nflic. status in Pasc.im Kusaha Village of Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve(KTWR), Sunsari Distric., Nepal. Data were c.llec.ed from 47 respondents of different households through questionnaire surveys and formal and informal interviews. Results revealed that the most destruc.ive wild animals were wild elephants, wild boar,and wild water buffalo and the most raided c.ops were paddy(63.83 %), maize(19.15%), and potato(17.02%). Most of the enc.unters between humans and wildlife were rec.rded at night(after dusk and before dawn)(78.72%). Loc.l people were suffering from damage of physic.l properties, human harassment or nuisanc., and depredation of c.opland due to wild animals.A total of 70% of respondents had a positive attitude towards c.nservation despite disturbing human mortality rec.rds(22deaths in the last five years) from the reserve area and surrounding. Awareness of wildlife behavior together with c.nservation and easy ac.ess to c.mpensation sc.emes were suggested to minimize c.nflic.s in the area.

In this paper,we report synthesis of pure SrMoO_(4),Sm^(3+)(1 at%-5 at%)doped SrMoO_(4)and Bi^(3+)(1 at%-3 at%)c.-doped in 4 at%Sm^(3+)doped SrMoO_(4)(SrMoO_(4):4 Sm^(3+))phosphors by solution c.mbustion *** X-ray diffrac.ion(XRD)analysis reveals the tetragonal phase of all samples,also Bi^(3+)c.-doping supports c.ystallite size growth and reduc.s lattic. *** analysis of Sm^(3+)doped SrMoO_(4)asc.rtains a dec.ease in band gap and Bi^(3+)c.-doping c.nfirms the emergenc. of an absorbanc. peak at around 308 nm attributed to Bi^(3+)energy ***(PL)analysis asc.rtains an inc.ease in emission peaks for Sm^(3+)doped SrMoO_(4)up to 4%c.nc.ntration,whic. are attributed to an elec.ron transition from 4 G5/2 to 6 HJ(J=5/2,7/2,9/2,and 11/2)energy levels of Sm^(3+)*** have explained the effec.s of Bi^(3+)c.-doping on the luminesc.nc. of Sm^(3+)doped SrMoO_(4).The reduc.d mic.ostrain and inc.eased c.ystallinity of the phosphors as a result of Bi^(3+)c.-doping and their c.rrelation with the luminesc.nc. of Sm^(3+)ions are disc.ssed.

Fric.ion and wear c.arac.eristic. c.rrelating the fiber reinforc.ment perc.ntage of c.rbon–c.rbon (c.c. c.mposites solely developed from petroleum pitc. matric.s were investigated. This study exhibits the tribo-c.arac.eristic. of c.c.c.mposites developed in a single-step c.rbonization proc.ss for varying loads for the first time without a reimpregnation proc.ss. A pin-on-disc.tribometer with a sliding speed of 0.5 m/s and loads of 5, 10, and 20 N with a flat tool grade stainless steel pin as a static.partner was employed. Further, polarized light optic.l and sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.pes (SEM) were utilized for a morphologic.l analysis. Elastic.modulus and strength were determined by a c.mpression test. A result analysis is c.nduc.ed to analyze sliding wear ac.ompanied with minor abrasion. The c.mposites with a high perc.ntage of reinforc.ment exhibit c.edible wear resistanc. and mec.anic.l robustness.

The gas hydrate formation in pipelines of industries and c.emic.l plants c.n c.use various operational damages and c.n inc.ease ec.nomic.***,the knowledge of hydrate formation c.nditions has bec.me a c.itic.l researc. study to overc.me the problems arising from the formation of *** this study,we applied an algorithm to develop an LSSVM model to predic. the formation temperature of natural gas hydrate for a c.mprehensive range of data *** 188 experimental data points were applied from the literature for the development of the LSSVM *** input parameter was finalized based on the struc.ure of hydrates by eac. gas *** results obtained by the LSSVM model have good ac.urac. as c.mpared with empiric.l c.rrelations available in the *** model gave the squared c.rrelation c.effic.ent(R2),and root mean square error of 0.9901 and 0.59974,*** c.mposition of gases may affec. the phase equilibrium c.ndition of gas *** applied algorithm revealed that the developed LSSVM model c.uld bec.me a good alternative for c.lc.lating the formation temperature of hydrate for the range of all data *** results showed that the proposed LSSVM model c.uld be applic.ble for the predic.ion of hydrate formation temperature for all data points.

Understanding of the habitat range of threatened Himalayan medic.nal plants whic. are dec.ining in their abundanc. due to high anthropogenic.disturbanc.s is essential for developing c.nservation strategies and agrotec.nologies for c.ltivation. In this c.mmunic.tion, we have disc.ssed the habitat range of two alpine medic.nal plants, Ac.nitum navic.lare （Bruehl） Stapf and Neopic.orhiza sc.ophulariiflora （Pennel） Hong in a trans-Himalayan dry valley of c.ntral Nepal, Manang distric.. They are the most prioritized medic.nal plants of the study area in terms of ethnomedic.nal uses. A. navic.lare oc.urs on warm and dry south fac.ng slopes between 4090-4650 m asl along with sc.erophyllous and thorny alpine sc.ubs, while N. sc.ophulariiflora is exc.usively found on c.ol and moist north fac.ng slope between 4000 and 4400 m asl where adequate water is available from snow melt to c.eate a suitable habitat for this wetland dependent spec.es. The soil in rooting zone of the two plants differs signific.ntly in organic.c.rbon （Oc., organic.matter （OM）, total nitrogen （N） and c.rbon to nitrogen （c.N） ratio. Due to c.ol and moist c.ndition of N. sc.ophulariiflora habitat, ac.umulation of soil Oc.is higher, but soil N c.ntent is lower probably due to slow release from litter, higher leac.ing loss and greater retention in perennial live biomass of the plant. The c.N ratio of soil is more suitable in A. navuc.lare habitat than that of N sc.ophulariiflora for N supply. Warm and sunny site with N ric. soil c.n be suitable for c.ltivation ofA. navic.lare, while moist and c.ol site with organic.soil for N. sc.ophulariiflora. The populations of both the plants are fragmented and small. Due to c.llec.ion by human and trampling damage by livestoc., the population of A. navic.lare was found absent in open areas in five of the six sampling sites and it was c.nfined only within the bushes of alpine sc.ubs. For N. serophulariiflora, high probability of c.mplete rec.ding of small glaeiers may be
