Eugenia roxburghii is a wild edible species belonging to the Myrtaceae *** bears delicious edible nutritious *** species holds both pharmacological and nutritional ***,they are still underutilized due to a lack of information on food *** research aims to evaluate the phytochemical and nutritional components of *** with the objective to study the influence of the constituents on ROS scavenging activity and its comparison among other Eugenia *** revealed that the fruits contained a discrete level of phytochemicals such as polyphenols(1.74 mg g􀀀^(-1))and flavonoids(2.11 mg g^(-1)).*** extract showed significant scavenging activity having an IC50 value of 6.13μg/*** to proximate analysis,the fruit has a substantial amount of calories(125.6 kcal/100 g),carbs(31.41%),protein(5.4%),dietary fibers(1.28 g/100 g),an acceptable amount of moisture(79.52%)for preservation,a reasonable amount of sugar(5.18%),and a very low amount of ash(0.72%)and fat as compared to other Eugenia ***,*** was found to be rich in Vitamin C(81.5 mg/100 g)while having a very low salt level but discovered to be high in potassium(89.12 mg/100 g)and Calcium(34.41 mg/100 g).Based on the findings of this study,the *** plant might be explored and used as a nutraceutical and food supplement in the pharmaceutical *** results of this research enable consumers to locate more affordable sources for a variety of supplements and advantages to prevent micronutrient deficiencies.

The seismic behavior of a partially filled rigid rectangular liquid tank is investigated under short-and longduration ground motions.A finite element model is developed to analyze the liquid domain by using four-noded quadrilateral *** competency of the model is verified with the available *** studies are conducted for the dynamic parameters of the base-isolated tank,using a lead rubber bearing to evaluate the optimum damping and time period of the *** application of base isolation has reduced the total and impulsive hydrodynamic components of pressure by 80 to 90 percent,and base shear by 15 to 95 percent,depending upon the frequency content and duration of the considered *** sloshing amplitude of the base-isolated tank is reduced by 18 to 94 percent for most of the short-duration earthquakes,while it is increased by 17 to 60 percent for the majority of the long-duration ***,resonance studies are carried out through a long-duration harmonic excitation to obtain the dynamic behavior of non-isolated and isolated tanks,using a nonlinear sloshing *** seismic responses of the base-isolated tank are obtained as higher when the excitation frequency matches the fundamental sloshing frequency rather than the isolator frequency.

A numerical study on violent liquid sloshing phenomenon in a partially filled rectangular container is carried out by using moving particle semi-implicit（MPS） method. The present study deals with the implementation of five modifications all together over the original MPS method. The modifications include improved source terms for pressure Poisson equation, special approximation technique for the representation of gradient differential operator, collective action of mixed free surface particle identification boundary conditions, effecting Neumann boundary condition on solving the PPE and fixing judiciously the parting distance among particles to prevent collision. The suitability of the kernel function used in the original MPS method along with these five modifications is investigated for violent sloshing problems. The present model ensures a good agreement between numerical results with the existing experimental observations. The model is successfully applied to a partially filled tank undergoing horizontal sinusoidal excitation to compute the sloshing wave amplitudes and pressure on tank walls. The assessment of dynamic behaviour manifested in terms of base shear, overturning moment and impact pressure load exerted on tank ceiling induced by violent sloshing motion using MPS method is not reported in the open literature and has been efficiently carried out in the present study.

Bridges are a part of vital infrastructure,which should operate even after a disaster to keep emergency services *** have been numerous bridge failures during major past earthquakes due to *** other categories of failures,mid span collapse(without the failure of abutments)of pile supported bridges founded in liquefiable deposits are still observed even in most recent *** mechanism of collapse is attributed to the effects related to the differential elongation of natural period of the individual piers during liquefaction.A shake table investigation has been carried out in this study to verify mechanisms behind midspan collapse of pile supported bridges in liquefiable *** this investigation,a typical pile supported bridge is scaled down,and its foundations pass through the liquefiable loose sandy soil and rest in a dense gravel *** noise motions of increasing acceleration magnitude have been applied to initiate progressive liquefaction and to characterize the dynamic features of the *** has been found that as the liquefaction of the soil sets in,the natural frequency of individual bridge support is reduced,with the highest reduction occurring near the central *** a result,there is differential lateral displacement and bending moment demand on the *** has also been observed that for the central pile,the maximum bending moment in the pile will occur at a higher elevation,as compared to that of the interface of soils of varied stiffness,unlike the abutment *** practical implications of this research are also highlighted.

In the present research work,frequency dependent electrical properties of tungsten bronze structured compounds Na2Pb2R2W2Ti4Nb4O30(R=Nd,Sm)are reported.X-ray diffraction(XRD)study of polycrystalline ceramic samples confirms the formation of compounds with orthorhombic *** of frequency dependent electrical data in the framework of modulus and conductivity formalism suggests the presence of thermally activated relaxation process in the compounds,which show Arrhenius *** magnitudes of activation energies give the nature of the relaxing *** real and imaginary parts of complex modulus trace the depressed semicircle in complex plane,suggesting non-Debye type relaxation process in the *** power law behavior of admittance data is successfully modeled by introducing constant phase element(CPE)to the equivalent circuit.A large value of power law parameter(n)of CPE below ferroelectric transition temperature(Tc)is attributed to the cooperative response of the dipoles which is reduced above *** behavior is correlated with the frequency dependence of CPE,suggesting a physical meaning to *** frequency dependent AC conductivity at different temperatures follows Jonscher’s universal power *** and West formalism is used to estimate the hopping rate,activation enthalpy and charge carrier concentration in the materials.

The slurry settling characteristics are the most important to design a thickener in process industries. In this work, the iron ore slurry from the screw classifier overflow was used for the settling study. It was observed that the original slurry exhibited a low settling velocity and a turbid supernatant during the settling process. Commercial flocculating agents with anionic, cationic, and nonionic characters were used to improve the settling behavior of suspensions, which were added into the slurry at different ranges of slurry pH values, respectively. The settling results show that the use of flocculants increase the settling rate by several times. Compared with the cationic and non-ionic flocculants, the anionic flocculant is more effective in enhancing the slurry settling rate. The small dose of the anionic flocculant is found to be more effective, but the other flocculants are less effective even at higher dosages. The simulation of an industrial thickener was carried out based on the laboratory settling data, and the appropriate design and selection parameters of the industrial thickener were estimated.

Two novel spline adaptive filtering(SAF)algorithms are proposed by combining different iterative gradient methods,i.e.,Adagrad and RMSProp,named SAF-Adagrad and SAF-RMSProp,in this *** convergence performance and computational complexity analyses are carried out ***,compared with existing SAF algorithms,the influence of step-size and noise types on SAF algorithms are explored for nonlinear system identification under artificial *** results show that the SAF-Adagrad and SAFRMSProp algorithms have better convergence performance than some existing SAF algorithms(i.e.,SAF-SGD,SAF-ARC-MMSGD,and SAF-LHC-MNAG).The analysis results of various measured real datasets also verify this ***,the effectiveness of SAF-Adagrad and SAF-RMSProp are confirmed for the accurate identification of nonlinear systems.

The physico-chemical and bacteriological parameters of the water in Taladanda canal and associated water-borne diseases,from which the dwellers have suffered,were studied,by using statistical *** and the addition of the wastes with sources from urbane industrial sectors,as well as the decrease in water level have caused the canal water quality declined drastically and subsequently led to extensive eutrophication and bacterial *** to the water sample analytical results,the water is lightly acidic with the pH value of 4.5~*** measured indexes,such as total dissolved solid(TDS),electrical conductivity(EC),total suspended solid(TSS),Mn,Zn,Al,Fe,Cu,Cr,and Hg etc,mostly have very high concentrations which are higher than permissible limit,indicating that the canal water is completely unsuitable for human ***,the biological analysis shows that the total coliform(TC)is in the range of 45.9~30.2 in per 100 mL water in April,30.5~25.3/100 mL in July and 52.9~35.4/100 mL in December,***,fecal coliform(FC)ranges from 12.8 to 10.1,10.5~7.5 and 13.1~6.4 per 100 mL water in the months of April,July and December *** a result,people who use the water have suffered from different water-borne *** the basis of disease data derived from hospital observations in a period of three years,there had been 4284 people affected by different waterborne diseases from 2016 to 2018.
