The Role of Nursing Care in Drug Compliance and Quality of Life in Patients after Coronary Artery “Bypass” Surgery

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a broad term that includes a whole range of diseases that affect the heart and blood vessels. Cardiovascular diseases (and not only) or as they are known by the abbreviation (SKV), are as numerous as they are complex, attacking the heart and blood vessels, causing many deaths globally, not to mention, are among the main causes. Arteriosclerosis is diagnosed, mainly on the basis of family and medical history, in which case a physical examination and specific tests are performed, which include: blood tests, Doppler ultrasound, electrocardiogram, chest X-ray, echocardiography, angiography and stress test, etc. The study was conducted at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK). The paper is based on data obtained from the research protocol of patients of this clinic, in the period 2016-2018. This study included 100 patients with heart disease and their treatment, with special emphasis on coronary artery bypass grafting. Our goal was to emphasize the care, as well as the quality of life of patients, after coronary artery bypass surgery. This process has always been supervised by the head nurse of the clinic, in order to fully preserve the privacy of the patients included in this research. From the results of this research, we found that males dominate in the number of patients included in the study, age over 50 dominates, and we also found that most patients have relatives who suffer from heart disease. We also see that 18% of patients continue to smoke after surgery, while 70% of them stated that their health after surgery is much better than last year, and 84% of them stated that they use therapy after surgery. Data from another study were performed by the hospital CHF, Self-Care (Self-Care of Heart Failure Index). Influence of dc Component during Inadvertent Operation of the High Voltage Generator Circuit Breaker during Mis-Synchronization

This paper analyses the synchronization problem of a generator onto power system without satisfying synchronization condition. The main focus of the paper is on the impact of the dc component of the current in the high voltage circuit breaker during its close-open operating cycle. Using real time measurements of currents/voltages and angles during the close-opening cycle of high voltage generator circuit breaker and the impact of the dc component of current in context of interrupting large magnitude of current from the circuit breaker. In addition, the paper describes a study case model and the results of simulations performed using the software EMTP-ATP of an actual incident that occurred during the inadvertent synchronization of a large 339 MW, 24 kV generator to the grid.

Seismic Soil Liquefaction for Deterministic and Probabilistic Approach Based on in SituTest (CPTU) Data

One of the most devastating effects of earthquakes in the seismic regions is liquefaction. Many research works have been done in this field and at present different methods are available for the liquefaction potential assessment. The liquefaction is a very significant phenomenon in clayey silty soils, silty sands and also sands. The high potential of liquefaction is generally recognized when these type of soils are laid under the hydrostatic water table. This paper make an overview of two different methods for the evaluation of liquefaction potential, and a case study is presented. Two methods presented here are the Deterministic Approach proposed by Robertson and Wride (1998), and the Probabilistic Approach proposed by Moss and co-workers. Case study of the liquefaction potential evaluation is done for the Golem area, where geotechnical data from CPTU test were collected. The results of analysis in the Golem area show that liquefaction has medium susceptibly to occur. From the analyses, it is shown that the Probabilistic Approach gives more accurate information about the risk of liquefaction than the Deterministic Approach.

Liquefaction Assessment in Golem Area, Albania, by Means of In-situ Tests

The liquefaction is a very significant phenomenon in clayey silty soils, silty sands and also sands. The high potential of liquefaction is generally recognized when these types of soils are laid under the hydrostatic water table. Low plasticity silts, silty sands and sands are found as recent alluvial deposits in the western coastal part of Albania, especially in the sandy beaches of Adriatic Sea near Durres City. The aim of this study is to evaluate the soil liquefaction potential in the area of Golem. Ten CPTUs （cone penetration test with pore pressure measurements） are carried out for the site investigation of soils. In this paper, results of the CPTU based liquefaction analysis are presented. The data of two CPTUs （10 in total） are analyzed and factor of safety was found by considering different levels of hazard and ground water. The results of liquefaction potential analysis show that the soils in the area of Golem have a high risk of liquefaction.

Linguistic Planning and the Status of Official Languages in Kosova During the Years 1999-2009

The issue of linguistic planning, choice of variant for increasing in standard norm, the determination of official status of appropriate language in certain countries, has been a concern, as it was also the orientation of different linguistic studies. In this work, we will try to treat the process of linguistic planning and of the official status of languages in Kosova during 1999-2009. In this context we do not intend to exhaust of handling with this problem, but we will try to present some issues and problems in which languages in Kosova have passed through. This issue is interesting for studies in sociolinguistic field in general and particularly in Albanian language.

Level of Stress at Nurses Working in Emergency Clinic and Central Intensive Care: University Clinical Centre of Kosovo

Background: Emergency Clinic (EC) and Central Intensive Care (CIC) are high-stress environments that directly affect the health status of nurses. Methods: The aim of this study was to assess the level of stress at nurses working in the Emergency Clinic and nurses working in the Central Intensive Care. The study included 90 nurses, 45 nurses working in Emergency Clinic and 45 nurses working in Central Intensive Care. The study applied the Emergency Nurse Stress Questionnaire as an instrument to gather the data. This questionnaire was adopted from the Operational Police Stress Questionnaire in order to serve for the function and aim of the present study. Results: Nurses’ cohort-age ranged from 20 to 62 years. The largest proportion of respondents 40 (44.4%) was in the 20 - 30 age group, 58 (64.4%) were married, 60 (66.6%) hold bachelor degree and (33.3%) were with secondary school educational level. In terms of work-related fatigue, significant difference was found in working hours, participants reported that there was a significant difference in fatigue between 12 hours shift nurses (61 ± 10.5) compared to 8 hours nurses (41 ± 23.6) with P Conclusion: These findings emphasize the role of using and assuring adequate strategies for ensuring quality management and finding ways of facilitating the increase in the number of nursing staff in these two departments because workplace overload and fatigue are potential factors that increase nurses’ stress levels.

Comparison of Photosynthetic Pigment Contents of the Resurrection Plants Ramonda serbicaand Ramonda nathaliaeof Some Different Populations from Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia

The resurrection plants Ramonda serbica and Ramonda nathaliae are the physiological model plant and endemic species from Balkan Peninsula. Study was carried out to assess the impact of different populations on photosynthetic pigment contents and their effect on physiological activity of these species. The experiment was conducted with leaves of R. serbica collected from nine populations in Kosovo, three in Albania and two in Macedonia, while for R. nathaliae four populations in Macedonia. For this purpose plants after collection from their natural populations were kept for 24 hours at constant temperature and humidity and in natural photoperiod. According to our data the pigment contents (Total chl + Carot) of R. serbica, measured as mg per gram dry weight (DW), were higher (7.06 mg·g-1 DW) in Radaci populations (Kosovo) and lower (4.63 mg·g-1 DW) in Jukniu Mountain-Kruja (Albania). On the other hand, the higher (5.28 mg·g-1 DW) of pigment contents (Total chl + Carot) of R. nathaliae were observed in Vorca populations and the lower (4.24 mg·g-1 DW) in Kaparll?k populations. Ratio chlorophyll a/b of R. serbica in Kruja Castle populations from Albania was the higher (3.68) comparing with Zhlebi populations from Kosovo (1.68). Similarly in case of R. nathaliae the higher (3.36) value was in Kaparll?k populations and the lower (3.12) in Matka populations. The data obtained were further analyzed using one-way ANOVA and a significant change was recorded in the different populations. These studies clearly indicate that the Ramonda plants from different ecological habitats there have been changes of photosynthetic pigment contents.

Use of the Multispecies Probiotic Winclove 500/BactoSan pro FOS Leads to Less Gastrointestinal Complaints in Adults—An Observational In Vivo Pilot Study

The potential benefit of probiotics on the gut microbiota and on various gastrointestinal disorders is well documented. It has become clear that these probiotic effects are strain-specific, underlying the necessity for a well-founded strain selection for research and clinical practice. Whether probiotics also have a positive effect on parameters of gastrointestinal function in a healthy population is less investigated. The objective of this in vivo observational study was to investigate the effect of a 6-week intervention with a multispecies probiotic product on gut health and quality of life (QoL) in a population of otherwise healthy adults and to evaluate the feasibility of conducting a controlled trial on probiotic effects in this population. A total of 40 participants from 3 different health centres were included in the study. After a 1-week inclusion phase, participants were supplemented for a 6-week period with Winclove 500/BactoSan pro FOS. During the run-in phase and each week during the observational period, gastrointestinal functional parameters were documented by an adapted version of the Eypasch questionnaire. Data on QoL was collected at baseline and at the end of the intervention period. The total gastrointestinal (GI) symptom score was reduced from 10 (4 - 21) at baseline to 6 (0 - 15) (p < 0.05) after 6 weeks intervention. More specifically, after the probiotic intervention the percentage of participants which were fully resolved of a particular symptom significantly increased to 27.5% (p < 0.02) for gastrointestinal pain, to 25% (p < 0.03) for epigastric fullness/bloating and to 20% (p < 0.02) for flatulence, compared to baseline. The treatment was well-tolerated. This observational study provides important information on the ability to investigate potential effects of a probiotic product in otherwise healthy adults. In Situ Tests--Predicted vs. Observed Settlements： A Comparative Case Study

This paper aims to deal with the comparison of the estimated settlements derived by in situ tests with the observed settlements in site, in order to evaluate the accuracy of settlement prediction by in situ tests, in comparison not only with site observation by topographic means, but also with the values of settlements derived by numerical analysis by means of PLAXIS 2D and 3 D. The site where are carried out the tests and periodically are observed the settlements since the beginning of construction process, is located in the Oil Product Terminal, at the industrial park of Porto Romano, Durres, Albania. The main purpose of this project was the ground improvement by using preloading method in order to prevent liquefaction process and settlements. The data used to conduct this study are taken by the site investigation done after inserting into the soil vertical drains made of columns of free--draining gravel （gravel pile drains） until 14 m depth and center-to-center spacing of 2 m, and wick drains （premanufactured） until 25 m depth and center-to-center spacing of 1.8 m. The observed settlements are periodically measured by topographic equipments. This paper will present the conclusions derived by settlement analyzes from in situ tests and site observations.

Simulation the Wind Grid Code Requirements for Wind Farms Connection in Kosovo Transmission Grid

This paper presents aspects of study and simulation approach for planned wind power projects in Kosovo Power System in relation with Grid Code requirements. All generators, connected to the Kosovo Transmission System are required to comply with the Grid Code. The Grid Code was originally developed with conventional synchronous generators. Since Wind Turbine Generators don’t have the same characteristics as synchronous generators, it was considered appropriate to develop a new set of Grid Code provisions specifically for Wind Farm Power Stations in relation with specific characteristic of Kosovo Power System. With high excepted penetration of wind power, a simultaneous loss of Wind Farms generation will put in the risk the security and reliability of Power System. Therefore, the main requirements for Wind farm power stations concern the fault ride through capability, frequency operation range, and reactive power capability of wind turbines. In the case of grid faults wind turbines have to supply a definite reactive power depending on the instantaneous voltage level of connection point and they must return quickly to normal operation.
