p-Li-Be Bearing pegmatites of the South East Brazil

The p-Li-Nb pegmatites are located in the south of Brazil, in the states of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santos. They represent the largest pegmatite fields of Brazil and the richest in precious stones. Two types of pegmatites are characterized by their mineralogical characteristics and tectonic and magmatic relations. The first group occurred during a compressive deformation phase D1 about 582 Ma and 550℃ - 700℃ and 4 - 5 kb. The second pegmatites group was formed during the decompression phase D2 (520 - 500 Ma) of the Brasiliano metamorphic rock fusion. The geochemical parameters of the p-Li-Be bearing pegmatites of the first group show the same trend fractionation, as suggested by the mineralogical composition. The variation of tourmaline and columbite-tantalite composition of the first group game again applies a change of melt composition during the regional development of the pegmatites. A systematic compositional trend seems to suggest a petrogenetic link between the pegmatites of the region. The Fe/Mn ratio of tourmaline in samples of the first group shows the same behavior as in columbite-tantalite and garnets. The simple pegmatites are transiting north in the gem-rich pegmatites. The Fe/Mn ratio not only shows qualitatively the fractionation index, the degree of regional development, but also the internal development of the body. The ratio shows a negative correlation with lithium. The Co, Zn and Nb contents are rising at first group, but falling when starting crystallization of garnet, columbite-tantalite, and Behierit.

＜正＞与水溶性蛋白相比,关于膜蛋白的体外重组的特性所知较少。原因之一是迄今为止,可以成功的进行体外重组的膜蛋白相对较少。很多水溶性蛋白可以在尿素或盐酸肌（Gnd）溶液里完全变性,然后稀释变性条件,再行复性。一些主要含β-折叠结构的膜蛋白,如细菌外膜上的OmpA,或OmpF也可以利用尿素或Gnd变性,然后借助表面活性剂形成的微束,或脂质体进行复性。有些主要含α-螺旋结构的膜蛋白:如半乳糖转运酶也可以利用相同的方法进行重组,但重组的产量很低。大多数主要含α-螺旋结构的膜蛋白不能从Gnd溶液中变性的蛋白进行重组。这些蛋白的重组主要通过将蛋白溶解于一种表面活性剂（SDS）溶液中,然后再进行重组。SDS可以稳定膜蛋白中一部分α-螺旋结构,比如LHCⅡb在SDS溶液中已经具有50%的所有的α-螺旋结构。因此,很容易推断,α-螺旋结构的存在,是某些膜蛋白进行体外重组的先决条件。

In this study,a flexoelectric layer is laminated on ring shells to monitor the modal signal *** to the strain gradient,only the bending strain component contributes to the output *** total signal contains two bending strain gradient components respectively induced by the transverse modal oscillation and the circumferential modal *** analysis suggests that the bending component signal induced by the transverse modal oscillation is dominant and its magnitude shows nearly the same as the total *** signals are evaluated in case studies with different ring modes and sensor segment sizes. Results indicate that the total signal increases with the mode number,decreases with the sensor segment size. These results serve as design guideline to select proper segment patches for practical engineering applications using flexoelectric transducers.

Impact of Chronicity on Outcomes Following post-Hospital Residential Brain Injury Rehabilitation: Application of Multivariate Statistics and Rasch Analysis

This study evaluated the impact of chronicity (onset of injury to admission in-terval) on three domains of functional outcomes for a large group of traumatic brain injured (TBI) survivors. Subjects included 528 TBI adults who were treated in post-hospital residential rehabilitation centers. Subjects were assigned to one of three chronicity groups: 1) Early Interval (EI), 2.00 - 8.00 months n = 245, 2) Mid Interval (MI), 8.01 - 24.00 months n = 129, and (3) Late Interval (LI), 24.01 months and greater n = 154. Functional status was assessed with the MpAI-4. RM MANCOVA was applied to evaluate differences among groups from admission to discharge. Rasch analysis demonstrated satisfactory construct validity and internal consistency (person reliability = 0.90 - 0.94, Item reliability = 0.99) for the admission and discharge MpAI-4s. Controlling for LOS and age, the RM MANCOVA revealed that each chronicity group showed significant improvement in MpAI-4 abilities, adjustment, and participation indices from admission to discharge (p provement observed from admission to discharge was the greatest among the EI group (p pproaches for understanding the complexities of TBI treatment outcomes. As measured across three domains of functioning, rehabilitation was effective in reducing disability for participants in each chronicity group. Of the three groups, EI participants presented as the most disabled at admission but also made the greatest gains when assessed at discharge.

Experimental study of the effect of wear parameters on the wear behavior of A356 alloy/cow horn particulate composites

Experimental study of the effect of wear parameters on the wear behaviour of A356 alloy reinforced with cow horn particles(CHp) produced by spark plasma sintering was investigated. Experiments were conducted based on the plan of experiments generated through Taguchi's(L9) technique. Tribometer was used for the wear test and Scanning electron microscope was used to analyse the worn scar of the samples. The results shows that, A356 alloy reinforced with CHp exhibited better dry sliding wear resistance than the unreinforced alloy. Wear rate decreased as the amount of CHp reinforcement increased in the matrix. It was found that, the optimum level of the factors with minimized the wear loss were obtained at: wt%CHp(20%), applied load(10 N), sliding velocity(3 m/s) and sliding distance(2000 m). It can be seen that the wear track of the sample are(D ? 0.81 and L = 42.85 mm) and(D ? 0.54 and L= 27.03 mm) for A356 alloy and composites at optimum condition respectively. The results showed that the addition of cow horn particles as reinforcing materials in A356 alloy composites increased the wear resistance of the composites greatly.

Impeller hub corner separation flow(IHCS)has a significant influence on energy conversion of the bulb tubular pump,and its unsteady characteristics are investigated with CFD-based *** generation mechanism and power loss characteristics of IHCS are investigated by the entropy production method and pressure fluctuation *** main cause can be attributed to the large transverse pressure gradient near the hub at the trailing edge of the impeller,which is aggravated by the circumferential movement trend and the diffuser reverse flow,while the IHCS is significantly weakened with increased flow *** undesirable flow behavior is more likely to cause a significant increase in energy loss near the hub region compared to that in the rim *** relative vortex stretching induced by the velocity gradient is the main cause of the horn-like vortex(HLV),and its intensity and resulting energy loss tend to decrease along the vortex *** HLV changes the dominant frequency of the pressure fluctuations in the nearby flow field,the value of which increases from 1fr(the blade passing frequency)to 2fr with increased amplitude,mainly due to the lower pressure regions on the impeller suction surface(SS)and HLV vortex *** to the effect of rotor-stator interaction(RSI),the HLVs generated between two adjacent impeller blades are cut into several sections by the diffuser vanes and propagate and dissipate along the mainstream direction.

Glyphosate Resistance in Giant Ragweed (<i>Ambrosia trifida</i>L.) from Mississippi Is partly Due to Reduced Translocation

A giant ragweed population from a glyphosate-resistant (GR) soybean field in Mississippi, USA was suspected to be resistant to glyphosate. Greenhouse and laboratory studies were conducted to confirm and quantify the magnitude of glyphosate resistance in a resistant biotype selected from this population and to elucidate possible physiological and molecular mechanisms of glyphosate resistance. Glyphosate dose response studies indicated that ED50 (effective dose required to reduce plant growth by 50%) values for glyphosate-resistant (GR-MS) and glyphosate-susceptible (GS-MS) biotypes, based on percent injury, were 0.52 and 0.34 kg ae/ha glyphosate, respectively, indicating a 1.5-fold level of resistance in GR-MS. The absorption pattern of 14C-glyphosate in the two giant ragweed biotypes was similar throughout the measured time course of 168 h after treatment (HAT). The amount of 14C-glyphosate that translocated out of treated leaves of the GR-MS and GS-MS plants was similar up to 24 HAT. However, the GS-MS biotype translocated more (71% and 76% of absorbed at 48 and 96 HAT, respectively) 14C-glyphosate than the GR-MS biotype (44% and 66% of absorbed at 48 and 96 HAT, respectively) out of the treated leaf. No target site mutation was identified at the pro106 location of the EpSpS gene of the GR-MS biotype. The mechanism of resistance to glyphosate in giant ragweed from Mississippi, at least, is due to reduced glyphosate translocation.
