SARS-CoV-2 infections manifest with a broad spectrum of presentations,ranging from asymptomatic infections to severe pneumonia and fatal *** review centers on asymptomatic infections,a widely reported phenomenon that has substantially contributed to the rapid spread of the *** such asymptomatic infections,we focus on the role of innate,humoral,and cellular ***,asymptomatic infections are characterized by an early and robust innate immune response,particularly a swift type 1 IFN reaction,alongside a rapid and broad induction of SARS-CoV-2-specific T ***,antibody levels tend to be lower or undetectable after asymptomatic infections,suggesting that the rapid control of viral replication by innate and cellular responses might impede the full triggering of humoral *** if antibody levels are present in the early convalescent phase,they wane rapidly below serological detection limits,particularly following asymptomatic ***,prevalence studies reliant solely on serological assays likely underestimate the extent of community exposure to the virus.

A novel Eu^(2+)-Eu^(3+)co-activated ratiometric thermo-sensitive phosphor was developed and synthesized by solid-state *** valence state of Eu,photoluminescence and thermo-sensitive performance of the phosphor prepared either in ambient air or carbothermally were investigated and *** phosphor shows high sensitivity(Sa=0.0173 K^(-1),S_(r)=0.461%/K)and superior signal discriminability(Δν∼10380 cm^(−1)).The thermo-sensitive performance is subject to the dual effects of different thermo-responses by Eu^(2+)versus Eu^(3+)combined with energy transfer from Eu^(2+)to Eu^(3+),so that the sensitivity of the phosphor in the temperature range presents a non-monotonic *** development of the BaAl_(2)B_(2)O_(7):Eu^(2+),Eu^(3+)phosphor is not only expected to be relevant for application in the field of temperature sensing,but also of reference significance for improving the sensitivity by means of energy transfer between co-activator ions over a wider temperature range of Eu^(2+)-Eu^(3+)co-activated ratiometric thermo-sensitive phosphors.

Reducing the ever-growing level of CO_(2)in the atmosphere is critical for the sustainable development of human society in the context of global *** of the capture and upgrading of CO_(2)is,therefore,highly desirable since each process step is costly,both energetically and ***,we report a CO_(2)direct air capture(DAC)and fixation process that produces *** concentrations of CO_(2)(∼400 ppm)in the air are captured by an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide to form *** carbonate is subsequently hydrogenated to methane,which is easily separated from the reaction system,catalyzed by TiO2-supported Ru in the aqueous phase with a selectivity of 99.9%among gas-phase *** concurrent regenerated hydroxide,in turn,increases the alkalinity of the aqueous solution for further CO_(2)capture,thereby enabling this one-ofits-kind continuous CO_(2)capture and methanation *** simulations demonstrate the energy feasibility of this CO_(2)DAC and methanation process,highlighting its promise for potential largescale applications.

A methodology is presented for estimating percent coverage of impervious surface(IS)and forest cover(FC)within Landsat thematic mapper(TM)pixels of urban ***-resolution multi-spectral images from Quickbird(QB)play a key role in the sub-pixel mapping process by providing information on the spatial distributions of ISs and FCs at 2.4 m ground sampling *** classifications,also derived from the Landsat imagery,have then been employed to define relationships between 30 m Landsat-derived greenness values and percent IS and *** also utilizing land cover/land use classification derived from Landsat and defining unique relationships for urban sub-classes(***,commercial/industrial,open land),confusion between impervious and fallow agricultural lands has been *** results are presented for Ottawa-Gatineau,an urban area that encompasses many aspects typical of the North American urban *** QB scenes have been acquired for this urban centre,thereby allowing us to undertake an in-depth study of the error budgets associated with the fractional inference process.

Web-based geographic information systems have advanced rapidly on the back of web-based technologies,increased bandwidths and access to Digital Earth imagery and ***,these advances are causing its capabilities to slowly overtake those of ***,the introduction of non-desktop devices such as smartphones,tablets and netbooks is starting to undo progress made towards standardisation of web-based *** varia-tions in screen sizes,computational power,bandwidth,and operating environ-ments are once again introducing the need to ensure software remains functional across different platforms,standards-compliant or *** two issues highlight the need for a mechanism to tune content and capability to end-users and their environment,to prevent information and complexity overload in a field already troubled by poor usability,while promoting cross-platform *** paper proposes the use of adaptivity to accommodate for users from different backgrounds accessing web mapping systems in different technical *** describes adaptive profiles aligned to the finite number of states a system can adopt,rather than the limitless range of user or environment characteristics that cannot be adapted *** profile consists of a combination of adaptive states comprising functionality,information detail,or technical demands to optimise for individual users or technical environments.
