Liver hydatidosis is the most common clinical presentation of cystic echinococcosis(CE).Ultrasonographic mass surveys have demonstrated the true prevalence,including the asymptomatic characteristic of the majority of cases,providing new insight into the natural history of the *** raises the question of whether to treat or not to treat these patients,due to the high and unsuspected prevalence of *** high rate of liver/lung frequencies of cyst localization,the autopsy findings,and the involution of cysts demonstrated in long time follow-up of asymptomatic carriers contribute to this *** decision to treat an asymptomatic patient by surgery,albendazole,or puncture aspiration injection and reaspiration or to wait and watch,is based on conflicting reports in the literature,the lack of complications in untreated patients over time,and the spontaneous disappearance and involution of *** these points contribute to difficulties of individual clinical *** patients should be informed of the reasons and the risks of watchful/waiting without treatment,the possibility of complications,and the risks of the other *** more information on the natural history of liver hydatidosis is acquired,selection of the best treatment will be come *** this knowledge it would be very difficult to establish definitive rules of *** present,it is possible to manage these patients over time and to wait for the best moment for *** studies must be conducted to achieve this objective.

The notion of ideal convergence is a generalization of statistical convecgence which has been intensively investigated in last few years. For an admissible ideal ∮ C N × N, the aim of the present paper is to introduce the concepts of ∮-convergence and ：∮＊-convergence for double sequences on probabilistic normed spaces （PN spaces for short）. We give some relations related to these notions and find condition on the ideal ∮ for which both the notions coincide. We also define ∮-Cauchy and ：∮＊- Cauchy double sequences on PN spaces and show that ∮-convergent double sequences are ∮-Cauchy on these spaces. We establish example which shows that our method of convergence for double sequences on PN spaces is more general.

Atherosclerosis is a leading underlying factor in cardiovascular disease and stroke,important causes of morbidity and mortality across the *** epidemiological studies demonstrate that high levels of high density lipoprotein（HDL） are associated with reduced risk of atherosclerosis and preclinical,animal model studies demonstrate that this association is *** the molecular mechanisms underlying the protective effects of HDL will allow more strategic approaches to development of HDL based *** evidence suggests that an important aspect of the ability of HDL to protect against atherosclerosis is its ability to trigger signaling responses in a variety of target cells including endothelial cells and macrophages in the vessel *** signaling responses require the HDL receptor,scavenger receptor class B type 1（SR-B1）,an adaptor protein（PDZK1） that binds to the cytosolic C terminus of SR-B1,Akt1 activation and（at least in endothelial cells） activation of endothelial NO synthase（eNOS）.Mouse models of atherosclerosis,exemplified by apolipoprotein E or low density lipoprotein receptor gene inactivated mice（apoE or LDLR KO） develop atherosclerosis in their aortas but appear generally resistant to coronary artery *** the other hand,inactivation of each of the components of HDL signaling（above）in either apoE or LDLR KO mice renders them susceptible to extensive coronary artery atherosclerosis suggesting that HDL signaling may play an important role in protection against coronary artery disease.

This paper presents the mechanical behaviors of the lacustrine deposit,a representative soil in Bogota,***,the physical characterization of the deposit is performed via laboratory tests (grain size distribution,scanning electron microscopy,Atterberg limits and water content).This characterization intends to explain the special characteristics of the mechanical behaviors of this ***,various triaxial tests are carried out with controlled loading path,strain rate change,relaxation,extensile stress,and cyclic *** test results reveal the shape of the yield curve for Bogotá soil (in a natural state),and also show that an increasing effect of the strain rate depends on the liquid *** effect is also preserved with extensile stresses (which are poorly studied in soil mechanics).Finally,other effects,such as the loss of structure in the reconstituted samples and the effect of shear modulus at low strains,are studied for Bogota soil.

This work presents a study on the behaviors of diatomaceous soils. Although studies are rarely reported on these soils, they have been identified in Mexico City, the Sea of Japan, the northeast coast of Australia,the equatorial Pacific, and the lacustrine deposit of Bogota(Colombia), among other locations. Features of this kind of soil include high friction angle, high initial void ratio, high compressibility index, high liquid limit, and low density. Some of these features are counterintuitive from a classical soil mechanics viewpoint. To understand the geotechnical properties of the diatomaceous soil, a comprehensive experimental plan consisting of more than 2400 tests was performed, including physical tests such as grain size distribution, Atterberg limits, density of solid particles, and organic matter content; and mechanical tests such as oedometric compression tests, unconfined compression tests, and triaxial *** tests were complemented with scanning electron microscope(SEM) observations to evaluate the microstructure of the soil. The test results show that there is an increase in liquid limit with increasing diatomaceous content, and the friction angle also increases with increasing diatomaceous content. In addition, several practical correlations were proposed for this soil type for shear strength mobilization and intrinsic compression line. Finally, useful correlations were presented, such as the relationship between the state consistency and the undrained shear strength, the friction angle and the liquid limit, the void ratio at 100 kPa and the liquid limit, the plasticity index and the diatomaceous content, among others.

In this letter to the Editor, we would like to comment on the article by Betcher et al., concerning the possibility of teaching military trainees to obtain accurate optic nerve sheath diameter measurements, using a brief didactic and a hands-on training session. In particular, this letter notes the importance of the measurement of optic nerve sheath diameter in detecting the eventual elevated intracranial pressure following traumatic brain injury, highlights several limitations in the use of B-scan for such a purpose and suggests a more accurate evaluation with the standardized A-scan.
