This study was undertaken with the objectives to determine the feeding effect of different levels of agricultural and food waste on growth performance and cost effectiveness in pig *** study was conducted at Manokwari regency,West Papua Province,*** agricultural and food industry by-products used were collected from two traditional markets,five restaurants and 15 small-scale food *** materials used as ration were proximally analyzed to determine their nutritional *** daily gain(ADG),feed consumption and feed conversion ratio(FCR)were taken to determine the pigs’*** cost using local market prices was estimated in knowing the ability of agricultural waste product and food industry to substitute commercial *** was used to analyse the *** result of this research indicates that the usage of agricultural and food industries’wastes as the alternative components of pigs’feed to substitute the commercial ones does not reduce the pigs’performance and *** three rations that use agricultural and food industry wastes,ration with the combination of 25% waste and 75% commercial feed had the best *** the other hand,a mixture of 75% waste and 25% commercial feed is the most economic one,and able to reduce the cost of feeding up to 35.86%.

Sorghum(Sorghum bicolor ***)is an essential food crop for more than 750 million people in tropical and sub-tropical dry climates of Africa,India,and Latin *** domestic sorghum market in Indonesia is still limited to the eastern region(East Nusa Tenggara,West Nusa Tenggara,Java,and South Sulawesi).Therefore,it is crucial to carry out sorghum research on *** research aimed to investigate the effect of sorghum genotype and planting distance and their interaction toward growth and sorghum’s productivity in the Gunungkidul dryland,Yogyakarta,*** addition,the farm business analysis,including the feasibility of sorghum farming,was also *** research used a randomized complete block design(RCBD),arranged in a 5×4 factorial with 3 *** first treatment consisted of 5 varieties(2 high-yielding varieties(Bioguma 1 and Kawali)and 3 local sorghum varieties(Plonco,Ketan Merah,and Hitam Wareng)).The second treatment consisted of 4 levels of planting distance,namely 50×20 cm,60×20 cm,70×15 cm,and 70×20×20 *** of variance was used to analyze the data,where Duncan’s multiple range test(DMRT)was used post *** height,panicle height,panicle width,panicle weight,stover weight,grains weight/plot,and productivity were significantly affected by sorghum varieties(p<0.05).However,there was no significant effect from the planting distance treatment and no interaction between planting distance and varietal *** Merah had the highest height,panicle length,and panicle width,while Bioguma 1 had the highest stover weight,panicle weight,grain weight/plot,and *** was a significant linear regression equation,i.e.,productivity=0.0054–0.0003 panicle height+0.4163 grains weight/*** findings on farm business analysis suggested that four out of five tested sorghum varieties were feasible to grow,except for the Ketan Merah *** most economically profitable sorghum variety to grow in Gunungkidul dryland was

The Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)positioning method has been significantly developed in geodetic ***,the height obtained through GNSS observations is given in a geodetic height system that needs to be converted to orthometric height for engineering *** on geoid height,which can be calculated using the global geopotential mode,is required to convert such GNSS observations into orthometric ***,its accuracy is still insufficient for most engineering ***,a reliable geoid model is essential,especially in areas growing fast,e.g.,the central part of Java,*** this study,we modeled the local geoid model in the central part of Java,Indonesia,using terrestrial-based gravity *** Stokes'formula with the second Helmert's condensation method under the Remove-Compute-Restore approach was implemented to model the *** comparison between our best-performing geoid model and GNSS/leveling observations showed that the standard deviation of the geoid height differences was estimated to be 4.4 *** geoid result outperformed the commonly adopted global model of EGM2008 with the estimated standard deviation of geoid height differences of 10.7 cm.

Functional trait profiles and diversity of trees regenerating in disturbed tropical forests and agroforests in Indonesia

A main question in restoration of degraded forests and forest landscapes recovering from logging and fire is what to expect from natural regeneration through surviving propagules in the soil or seed sources and associated dispersal agents from the surrounding landscape mosaic,as alternative to tree *** diversity in secondary forests may be high,but based on newcomer species of low wood density and long-distance,abiotic dispersal *** compiled and analyzed three pairs of case studies(totaling 815 plots and 11.8 ha)of secondary forests recovering from logging,fire and conversion to agroforest in Sumatra and Kalimantan(Indonesia)on mineral *** on tree species diversity,wood density frequency distribution(indicative of successional status)and dispersal modes were compared with those of less disturbed comparator forests in the same *** undisturbed lowland dipterocarp forest in Kalimantan had close to 200 species of trees(>10 cm diameter)at a 1-ha sample scale(and 450 at a 10-ha scale).After repeated fires a sample area of 2 ha was needed to reach the same species ***-based logging had little impact on tree species *** rubber agroforest with low-intensity management beyond rubber planting,50 tree species were found at a 1-ha scale and close to 100 species in 3 *** Kalimantan forest after repeated fires had a markedly higher fraction of lowwood-density trees(40%),but otherwise,all forests sampled were similar in overall wood density *** logged forest managed by a local community(village forest)and rubber agroforest in Sumatra contained larger fractions of heavy-wood-density *** majority of trees(50%–70%)had birds,bats and primates as dispersal agents in all *** logged forests had higher fractions of autochorous species(15%)compared to other ***(wind-dispersed)species,especially Macaranga lowii,were most common(20%)in lowland dipterocarp *** be

Conversion of delignified cellulose from rice husk biomass,and model compounds of cellobiose and glucose to levulinic acid(LA)over hierarchical Mn_(3)O_(4)/ZSM-5 catalyst was carried out using a household microwave method,and then compared to the established conventional thermos-reaction *** hierarchical ZSM-5 was prepared using a double template method,aiming for micro and mesoporous systems developed in the *** as-prepared ZSM-5 were modified with Mn3O4 through incipient wetness impregnation with Mn2+solution followed by calcination at 550℃.The catalysts were characterized using various techniques such as powder XRD,SEM,BET,AAS,and FT-IR which indicated the hierarchical structure of MFI zeolite(Si/Al of 30-34)with Mn loading of 2.14 wt%.The conversion products were analyzed using HPLC,1H NMR,and 13C NMR *** microwave-assisted reaction using 600 W for 180 s using delignified cellulose,cellobiose,and glucose gave conversion of 37.27%,46.35%,and 54.29%,respectively which is close to the conversion given by the conventional reaction carried out at 130◦C for 4 h(36.75%,55.62%,and 60.9%,respectively).Interestingly,the LA yield from the microwave-assisted reaction(4.33%,6.12%,and 9.57%)is higher than the yield from the conventional reaction,which only produced 5.2%,4.88%,and 6.93%*** microwaveassisted method is also shown to give less by-products compared to the thermochemical ***,it could be considered an alternative method for converting cellulose to LA.

This paper presents a development of a novel path planning algorithm, called Generalized Laser simulator (GLS), for solving the mobilerobot path planning problem in a two-dimensional map with the presence ofconstraints. This approach gives the possibility to find the path for a wheelmobile robot considering some constraints during the robot movement inboth known and unknown environments. The feasible path is determinedbetween the start and goal positions by generating wave of points in alldirection towards the goal point with adhering to constraints. In simulation,the proposed method has been tested in several working environments withdifferent degrees of complexity. The results demonstrated that the proposedmethod is able to generate efficiently an optimal collision-free path. Moreover,the performance of the proposed method was compared with the A-star andlaser simulator (LS) algorithms in terms of path length, computational timeand path smoothness. The results revealed that the proposed method hasshortest path length, less computational time and the best smooth path. Asan average, GLS is faster than A∗ and LS by 7.8 and 5.5 times, respectivelyand presents a path shorter than A∗ and LS by 1.2 and 1.5 times. In orderto verify the performance of the developed method in dealing with constraints, an experimental study was carried out using a Wheeled Mobile Robot(WMR) platform in labs and roads. The experimental work investigates acomplete autonomous WMR path planning in the lab and road environmentsusing a live video streaming. Local maps were built using data from a live video streaming with real-time image processing to detect segments of theanalogous-road in lab or real-road environments. The study shows that theproposed method is able to generate shortest path and best smooth trajectoryfrom start to goal points in comparison with laser simulator.

Falcataria moluccana or sengon is one of the fast-growing wood species widely grown in ***,its wood is low quality with low density,and poor strength,durability,and dimensional *** study determined the effects of impregnation with monoethylene glycol(MEG)and nano-SiO2 on the characteristics of sengon wood,including its dimensional stability and *** with MEG and nano-SiO2 had a significant effects on dimensional stability in terms of the weight percent gain,anti-swelling efficiency,water uptake,bulking effect,and *** impregnated wood was examined by scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray *** results show that MEG and nano-SiO2 were distributed homogeneously into cell walls of wood treated with 0.5%MEGSiO2.

Purpose: Pain assessment is a key component of good pain management in hospitalized *** study aimed to translate and adapt a version of pain measurement in infants,the Premature Infant Pain Profile Revised (PIPP-R) into ***: The adaptation process of the measuring instrument used a modified Brislin method which included forward translation,back translation 1,group discussion 1,back translation 2,group discussion 2,and pilot testing on neonatal nurses: feasibility test,inter-rater reliability using intraclass correlation (ICC),and internal consistency using Cronbach's α ***: The PIPP-R version in English has been translated into *** general,nurses assessed this measuring instrument as *** inter-rater reliability showed a high agreement (ICC =0.968,P=0.001) and this measuring instrument had good internal consistency (Cronbach's α=0.856).Conclusion: The Indonesian version of PIPP-R is easy to use and shows good psychometric *** use of this measuring instrument will help nurses and researchers obtain accurate infant pain intensity measurement values.

Objective:To characterize proteins and other nutrients in striatin(DLBS0333),a bioactive protein fraction isolated from snakehead fish(Channa striata) and to investigate its wound healing ***:Proteins and other constituents in striatin were characterized by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis,two dimension electrophoresis,immunoblotting assay,spectroscopy and high performance liquid *** wound healing activity of striatin was studied in vitro using 3T3 fibroblast cells and in vivo using wound-induced animal *** parameters related to wound healing process were ***:Striatin contained four major bioactive proteins with approximate molecular weight of 8.3,10.9,15.4 and 16.7 *** addition to proteins,striatin also contained amino acids(10 essential and 7 non essential amino acids),fatty acids(palmitic acid,oleic acid,stearic acid,linoleic acid,arachidonic acid),vitamins(vitamin A,vitamin B_6)and other nutrients(carbohydrate,dietary fiber,biotin,choline,inositol,L-carnitine,selenium) which are potential for wound healing and increasing serum albumin *** with striatin both in vitro and in vivo indicated that striatin enhanced cell ***-induced animal model treated with striatin showed significantly faster wound healing process,as confirmed by wound size and faster serum albumin level *** striatin does not contain albumin,this bioactive protein fraction may lead to enhanced albumin synthesis in the liver thereby maintaining the blood albumin ***,consuming striatin is a better option to improve albumin levels in diseased condition and the condition of being ***:Striatin(DLBS0333) is a potential natural compound for accelerating wound healing in conditions such as post surgery and post partum,and increasing albumin level.
