Effect of Limiting Access to Drinking Water on Carcass Characteristics, Meat Quality and Kidneys of Rabbits

Feed restriction is a common practice to reduce post weaning digestive disorders in rabbits and to get carcasses with less fat. Hydric restriction is commonly used to induce feed restriction in growing rabbits. Two hydric restriction times （2 h and 4 h per day, continuously） were used in our trial carried in good sanitary conditions. Thirty six rabbits were divided at weaning （28 days） into three groups： R2 with restricted access to drinking water from 35 days to 80 days age of 2 h per day （from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.）, R4： access to drinking water 4 h per day （from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m.） and T （control group） with unlimited access to drinking water. Six animals from each group were slaughtered at 80 days of age. Carcass measurements and meat quality were studied. Histological study for kidneys was carried out. Relative weight of gastrointestinal tract increases with the degree of restriction： 16.5, 18.4 and 18.9 for T, R4 and R2, respectively （P 〈 0.05）. Perirenal fat was lower in restricted groups but differences were not statically significant. Scapular fat decreases of 2/3 or 1/3 respectively with limiting access to drinking water of 2 h or 4 h per day. Compared to control group （T）, meat of restricted groups contains more water： 70.3%, 70% and 69.3% respectively for R4, R2 and T （P 〈 0.01）. The same tendency was observed for proteins： 19.2%, 19.3% and 17.7% for groups R2, R4 and T. Fat decreases in meat of restricted animals： 8.4%, 8.2% and 8.1% respectively for T, R4 and R2 （P 〈 0.05）. Water restriction induced decrease of carcass and meat adiposity. There were no differences between pH post mortem and pH ultimate （after 24 h） between the three groups. Hydric restriction does not effect on kidney histology.

Investigating Plasma Jets Behavior using Axisymmetric Lattice Boltzmann Model under Temperature Dependent Viscosity

Prepulse inhibition (PPI) of tactile startle response in recombinant congenic strains of mice:QTL mapping and comparison with acoustic PPI

Prepulse inhibition （PPI） of the startle response is a psychophysiological measure of sensorimotor gating believed to be cross-modal between different sensory systems. We analyzed the tactile startle response （TSR） and PPI of TSR （tPPI）, using light as a prepulse stimulus, in the mouse strains A/J and C57BL/6J and 36 recombinant congenic strains derived from them. Parental strains were significantly different for TSR, but were comparable for tPPI. Among the congenic strains, variation for TSR was significant in both genetic backgrounds, but that of tPPI was significant only for the C57BL/6J background. Provisional mapping for loci modulating TSR and tPPI was carried out. Using mapping data from our previous study on acoustic startle responses （ASR） and PPI of ASR （aPPI）, no common markers for aPPI and tPPI were identified. However, some markers were significantly associated with both ASR and TSR, at least in one genetic background. These results indicate cross-modal genetic regulation for the startle response but not for PPI, in these mouse strains.

Modeling and computation of the cavitating flow in injection nozzle holes

ON A BI-HARMONIC EQUATION INVOLVING CRITICAL EXPONENT: EXISTENCE AND MULTIPLICITY RESULTS

In this paper, we consider the problem of existence as well as multiplicity results for a bi-harmonic equation under the Navier boundary conditions： △2 u = K（x）u p , u 〉 0 in Ω , △u = u = 0 on Ω , where Ω is a smooth domain in R n , n 5, and p ＋ 1 = 2 n n 4 is the critical Sobolev exponent. We obtain highlightly a new criterion of existence, which provides existence results for a dense subset of positive functions, and generalizes Bahri-Coron type criterion in dimension six. Our argument gives also estimates on the Morse index of the obtained solutions and extends some known results. Moreover, it provides, for generic K, Morse inequalities at infinity, which delivers lower bounds for the number of solutions. As further applications of this Morse theoretical approach, we prove more existence results.

Structural elucidation, theoretical investigation using DFT calculations,thermal and dielectric analyses of new zinc(Ⅱ) based inorganic–organic hybrid

A novel interesting d^（10） metal hybrid, [1,2-C_6H_（10）（NH_3）_2]ZnCl_4; 1,2-diammoniumcyclohexane tetrachlorozincate（II） was grown, structurally characterized and their vibrational as well as thermal and dielectric proprieties were studied. A preliminary single crystal X-ray diffraction structural analysis has revealed that the latter crystallizes in the monoclinic system（space group C2/c）. Its unit cell dimensions are a = 32.394（9）？, b = 12.217（4）？, c = 10.175（3）？, β = 97.852（13）° with Z = 12 and the refinement converged to R = 0.034 and ωR = 0.065. Hirshfeld surface analyses, especially d_（norm）surface and fingerprint plots were used for decoding intermolecular interactions in the crystal network. The optimized geometric parameters, normal mode frequencies and corresponding vibrational assignments of the present compound were theoretically examined by the DFT/B3 LYP method with the Lan L2 DZ basis set. The thermal and dielectric analyses suggested the presence of ferroelectric phase transition at 314 K.

Optimal Systematic Determination of Models' Base for Multimodel Representation: Real Time Application

The multimodel approach is a powerful and practical tool to deal with analysis, modeling, observation, emulation and control of complex systems. In the modeling framework, we propose in this paper a new method for optimal systematic determination of models base for multimodel representation. This method is based on the classification of data set picked out of the considered system. The obtained cluster centers are exploited to provide the weighting functions and to deduce the corresponding dispersions and their models base. A simulation example and an experimental validation on a semi-batch reactor are presented to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Cyanide(CN−)is extensively used in the process of plating devices and for surface treatment in the electroplating industry and is extremely hazardous to humans and the ***(PMS)-based advanced oxidation processes(AOPs)hold considerable promise for CN−***,the activity of sulfate radical and hydroxyl radical generated in the PMS activation process is low in the base condition,leading to a drop in its efficiency in CN−***,a photo-electrocatalytic system(PEC),developed using a TiO_(2) photoanode and a carbon aerogel cathode,was used to activate PMS for the removal of CN−from wastewater through the generation of radicals and *** PEC/PMS system could effectively remove CN^(−),with the removal efficiency reaching 98.5%within 2 min,when PMS concentration was at the 0.25 mmol/L level,and the applied bias voltage was-0.5 *** main active species in the PEC/PMS system were superoxide radicals and singlet oxygen,which was proved through electron paramagnetic resonance detection and quenching *** obtained through in-situ Raman measurements,photocurrent tests,and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements indicated that the TiO2 could activate PMS to generate active *** many cycles of experimentation,it was discovered that the system displayed high catalytic performance and possessed satisfactory stability to remove CN−economically and efficiently.

ACTIVE VIBRATION SUPPRESSION VIA LINEARIZING HYSTERESIS OF PIEZOCERAMIC ACTUATORS

A novel active vibration control technique on the basis of linearized piezoelectric actuators is presented. An experimental apparatus consisting of a cantilever beam to which are attached strain patches and piezoceramic actuators to be used for active vibration suppression is described. A dynamical model of the cantilever beam using Lagrange＇s equation and two coordinate systems are presented. Based on the Lyapunov＇s direct method, an active vibration controller with hysteresis compensation is designed. The controller is designed so that it guarantees the global stability of the overall system. The controller developed is assessed experimentally.
