Evaluation of.slope stability through rock mass classif.cation and kinematic analysis of.some major slopes along nH-1A f.om Ramban to Banihal, north Western Himalayas

The network of.Himalayan roadways and highways connects some remote regions of.valleys or hill slopes,which is vital f.r India’s socio-economic *** to natural and artif.cial f.ctors,f.equency of.slope instabilities along the networks has been increasing over last f.w *** of.stability of.natural and artif.cial slopes due to construction of.these connecting road networks is signif.cant in saf.ly executing these roads throughout the *** rock mass classif.cation methods are generally used to assess the strength and def.rmability of.rock *** study assesses slope stability along the nH-1A of.Ramban district of.north Western *** structurally and non-structurally controlled rock mass classif.cation systems have been applied to assess the stability conditions of.14 *** evaluating the stability of.these slopes,kinematic analysis was perf.rmed along with geological strength index(GSI),rock mass rating(RMR),continuous slope mass rating(CoSMR),slope mass rating(SMR),and Q-slope in the present *** SMR gives three slopes as completely unstable while CoSMR suggests f.ur slopes as completely *** stability of.all slopes was also analyzed using a design chart under dynamic and static conditions by slope stability rating(SSR)f.r the f.ctor of.saf.ty(f.S)of.1.2 and 1 respectively.Q-slope with probability of.f.ilure(Pof.1%gives two slopes as stable *** slope angle has been determined based on the Q-slope saf. angle equation and SSR design chart based on the *** value ranges given by dif.erent empirical classif.cations were RMR(37-74),GSI(27.3-58.5),SMR(11-59),and CoSMR(3.39-74.56).Good relationship was f.und among RMR&SSR and RMR&GSI with correlation coef.icient(R 2)value of.0.815 and 0.6866,***,a comparative stability of.all these slopes based on the above classif.cation has been perf.rmed to identif. the most critical slope along this road.

This review provides a comprehensive overview of.recent investigations into noble metal recovery f.om waste streams, specif.cally employing porous organic f.ameworks(POf.). Additionally, the study delves into the utilization of.the resultant composites, enriched with noble metals, in heterogeneous catalysis. Moreover, we of.er insights into the challenges f.ced and outline prospects f.r the practical implementation of.extracting noble metal catalysts f.om waste streams using POf., aiming to develop cost-ef.ective, sustainable, and ef.icient heterogeneous catalysts.

Calibration of.the DEM sliding f.iction and rolling f.iction parameters of.a cohesionless bulk material

The discrete element method(DEM)has become a valuable tool f.r understanding the mechanical behaviour of.granular assemblies,however,the accuracy of.the DEM simulations depends on several interaction parameters such as the sliding f.iction and rolling f.iction ***,these parameters are estimated using bulk calibration approach(BCA)where the draw down test has been suggested as an ef.ective way to approach these *** test provides up to f.ur bulk criteria,the angle of.repose,shear angle,mass f.ow rate and the mass loss which are used to narrow down the possible ***,there is still more research needed around it to f.lly understand how this methodology *** experimental and numerical study was carried out using the draw down test to assess the inf.uence of.dif.erent mass f.ow rates and particle shapes on DEM parameters f.r a cohesionless bulk *** is concluded that use of.multi-sphere particles and three aperture sizes in the draw down test to calibrate the sliding and rolling f.iction parameters of.a cohesionless bulk material can converge to a small f.asible region in which a single combination of.the f.iction coef.icients can be *** calibrated sliding and rolling f.iction coef.icients were validated using multi-sphere particles,where the maximum deviation was 5.9%f.om the experimental values.

Simultaneous removal of.critical rare earth elements and chalcogen oxyanions by anaerobic granular sludge

Conventional mining of.economically and strategically important critical rare earth elements(REEs)(such as neodymium,lanthanum and dysprosium),and chalcogens(such as selenium and tellurium)are associated with a huge economic and environmental ***,the need to recover REEs as well as chalcogens f.om dif.erent waste streams including wastewaters is becoming *** assays on synthetic chalcogen/REE-laden wastewater showed that the presence of.REEs signif.cantly improved the tellurite removal rate(>80%)and enhanced selenate removal by 66%±10%.Three 3.9 L continuous upf.ow anaerobic granular sludge bed(UASB)reactors were operated at a hydraulic retention time of.24 h and 30℃.Selenate reduction was achieved with a removal ef.iciency of.98% with an inf.uent p H of.4.0 f.r more than 28 *** ef.ect of.REEs on tellurite removal in the UASB bioreactor could not be clearly established since a soluble tellurium removal ef.iciency of.more than 98%was observed already bef.re the addition of.REEs at elevated tellurite *** complete REE removal in both batch assays and UASB reactors at higher pH(7.0±0.5)was attributed to precipitation,whereas chalcogen oxyanions removal was due to microbial ***,at acidic p H,biosorption was responsible f.r REE's removal,and the Se-enriched sludge exhibited a superior REE's removal ef.iciency than the non-enriched and Te-enriched sludge.

Radiative capture of.proton through the ^(14)n(p,γ)^(15)O reaction at low energy

The CnO cycle is the main source of.energy in stars more massive than our *** process def.nes the energy production,the duration of.which can be used to determine the lif.time of.massive *** cycle is an important tool f.r determining the age of.globular *** proton capture via p+^(14)n→^(15)O+γ,at energies of.astrophysical interest,is an important process in the CnO *** this project,we apply a potential model to describe both non-resonant and resonant reactions in the channels where radiative capture occurs through electric E1 *** employed the R-matrix method to describe the ongoing reactions via M1 resonant transitions,when it was not possible to correctly reproduce the experimental data using the potential *** partial components of.the astrophysical S-f.ctor are calculated f.r all possible electric and magnetic dipole transitions in ^(15)*** linear extrapolated S-f.ctor at zero energy(S(0))agrees well with earlier reported values f.r all transition types considered in this *** on the value of.the total astrophysical S-f.ctor,depending on the collision energy,we calculate the nuclear reaction rates f.r p+^(14)n→^(15)O+γ.The computed rates agree well with the results reported in the nACRE II Collaboration and most recent existing measurements.

Prediction of.landslide tsunami run-up on a plane beach through f.ature selected MLP-based model

We proposed new prediction models based on multilayer perceptron(MLP)which successf.lly predict the maximum run-up of.landslide-generated tsunami waves and assess the role of.parameters af.ecting *** input is approximately 55,000 rows of.data generated through an analytical solution employing slide’s cross section,initial submergence,vertical thickness,horizontal length,beach slope angle and the maximum run-up itself.along with its occurrence *** parameters are f.rst ranked through a f.ature selection algorithm and six models are constructed f.r a 9,000-row randomly sampled *** MLP-based models led predictions with a minimum Mean Absolute Percentage Error of.1.1%and revealed that vertical slide thickness has the largest impact on the maximum tsunami run-up,whereas beach slope angle has minimal *** parison with existing literature showed the reliability and applicability of.the of.ered *** methodology introduced here can be suggested as f.st and f.exible method f.r prediction of.landslide-induced tsunami run-up.

A new empirical f.rmula f.r the astrophysical S-f.ctor has been suggested as a f.nction of.the Coulomb interaction parameter,center of.mass energy,and barrier *** 22 f.sion reactions with ^(40,48)Ca as projectiles were considered f.r dif.erent targets,leading to compound nuclei with atomic and mass numbers varying between 40≤Z≤≤Z≤112 and 88≤A≤27888≤A≤278,*** f.sion cross-sections have been estimated using the geometric f.ctor,the Gamow-Sommerf.eld f.ctor,and the empirical f.rmula f.r the *** study's f.ndings showed better agreement with those of.available experiments when compared to Wong's *** present work leads to a smaller standard deviation value than Wong's f.rmula when used to correlate the experimental data of.calcium-induced f.sion ***'s f.rmula provides a good approximation of.f.sion cross-sections when the center of.mass energy is below the f.sion barrier when compared to above the f.sion barrier.

Comparison of.Perovskite Systems Based on Af.O_(3)(A=Ce,La,Y)in CO_(2) Hydrogenation to CO

CO_(2) is the most cost-ef. ective and abundant carbon resource,while the reverse water-gas reaction(rWGS)is one of.the most ef. ective methods of.CO_(2) *** work presents a comparative study of.rWGS activity f.r perovskite systems based on Af.O_(3)(where A=Ce,La,Y).These systems were synthesized by solution combustion synthesis(SCS)with dif. erent ratios of.f.0}l(glycine)and oxidizer(φ),dif. erent amounts of.nH 4 nO_(3),and the addition of.alumina or silica as *** techniques,including X-ray dif. raction analysis,thermogravimetric analysis,f.urier transf.rm inf.ared spectroscopy(f.IR),scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,n 2-physisorption,H_(2) temper-ature-programmed reduction,temperature-programmed desorption of.H_(2) and CO_(2),Raman spectroscopy,and in situ f.IR,were used to relate the physicochemical properties with the catalytic perf.rmance of.the obtained *** specif. c perovskite-containing system(either bulk or supported)has its own optimalφand nH_(4) nO_(3) amount to achieve the highest yield and dispersion of.the perovskite *** all synthesized systems,bulk SCS-derived La-f.-O systems showed the highest resistance to reducing environments and the easiest hydrogen desorption,outperf.rming La-f.-O produced by solgel combustion(SGC).CO_(2) conversion into CO at 600°C f.r bulk f.rrite systems,depending on the A-cation type and preparation method,f.llows the order La(SGC)f. erences in properties between La-f.-O obtained by the SCS and SGC methods can be attributed to dif. erent ratios of.oxygen and lanthanum vacancy contributions,hydroxyl coverage,morphology,and f.ee iron oxide *** situ f.IR data revealed that CO_(2) hydrogenation occurs through f.rmates generated under reaction conditions on the bulk system based on La-f.-O,obtained by the SCS method.γ-Al_(2)O_(3) improves the dispersion of.Cef.O_(3) and Laf.O_(3) phases,the specif. c surf.ce area,and the quant
