Improving the utility of.locally dif.erentially private protocols f.r longitudinal and multidimensional f.equency estimates

This paper investigates the problem of.collecting multidimensional data throughout time(i.e.,longitudinal studies)f.r the f.ndamental task of.f.equency estimation under Local Dif.erential Privacy(LDP)*** to f.equency estimation of.a single attribute,the multidimensional aspect demands particular attention to the privacy ***,when collecting user statistics longitudinally,privacy progressively ***,the“multiple”settings in combination(i.e.,many attributes and several collections throughout time)impose several challenges,f.r which this paper proposes the f.rst solution f.r f.equency estimates under *** tackle these issues,we extend the analysis of.three state-of.the-art LDP protocols(Generalized Randomized Response–GRR,Optimized Unary Encoding–Oue,and Symmetric Unary Encoding–Sue)f.r both longitudinal and multidimensional data *** the known literature uses Oue and Sue f.r two rounds of.sanitization(***),i.e.,L-Oue and L-Sue,respectively,we analytically and experimentally show that starting with Oue and then with Sue provides higher data utility(i.e.,L-OSue).Also,f.r attributes with small domain sizes,we propose Longitudinal GRR(L-GRR),which provides higher utility than the other protocols based on unary ***,we also propose a new solution named Adaptive LDP f.r LOngitudinal and Multidimensional f.Equency Estimates(ALLOMf.EE),which randomly samples a single attribute to be sent with the whole privacy budget and adaptively selects the optimal protocol,i.e.,either L-GRR or *** shown in the results,ALLOMf.EE consistently and considerably outperf.rms the state-of.the-art L-Sue and L-Oue protocols in the quality of.the f.equency estimates.

Calix[n]arenes was utilized to detect PABA,the primary sunscreen *** study investigates the interaction of.calix[4]arene(C4),calix[6]arene(C6),and PABA using the Langmuir method and f.rst-principle density f.nctional theory(Df.).Using the Langmuir-Schaef.r(LS)technique,an ultrathin f.lm composed of.calix[n]arenes and their complexes with PABA was deposited on various *** on the Langmuir study,the PABA molecule was bonded to the lower rims of.both C4 and C6 with the host-guest ratio of.1:*** of.the LS f.lms f.rmed were then characterized by ultravioletvisible spectroscopy(UV-Vis),f.urier-transf.rm inf.ared spectroscopy(f.IR)and carbon,hydrogen,nitrogen,sulf.r elemental analyzer(CHnS).The band gap reduction obtained in the Df. study denotes the charge transf.r interaction with promising reactivity between the calix[n]arenes and *** sensing of.PABA by C4 and C6 is successf.l based on the f.rmation of.bonding between them due to the hosts’ef.ective trapping *** outcomes of.this study could be applied to drug delivery systems f.r f.ture pharmaceutical and medical applications.

Ef.ects of.synthesis parameters on the perf.rmance of.crosslinked Co-polymers with clays f.r conf.rmance control

Conf.rmance control or water shut-of. is a technique used to improve oil *** conf.rmance control,polymers block high permeability water areas and redistribute water drive toward unswept oil *** this study,co-polymers(denoted ATP-PGV/AM-co-AMPS)were synthesized using acrylamide(AM)and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulf.nic acid(AMPS)as the monomers,polyethylene glycol(PEG)-200 and methylenebisacrylamide(MBA)as the crosslinkers,attapulgite(ATP)and bentonite(PGV)as the clay types,and ammonium persulf.te(APS)as the initiator,in addition to paraf.in oil and *** were synthesized using inverse emulsion polymerization with dif.erent concentrations of.monomers,crosslinkers,and clays,and they were characterized using f.urier-transf.rm inf.ared(f.IR)spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX).f.IR spectra of.the samples conf.rmed the existence of.sulf.nate and hydroxyl groups,which are important f.r polymer ***-EDX images indicated that the morphology and elemental composition were dif.erent bef.re and af.er swelling,conf.rming the occurrence of.***,samples were placed in sodium chloride solution(20,000 ppm)f.r 7 days to evaluate swelling at both room temperature and 90°*** analysis(TGA)and dif.erential scanning calorimetry(DSC)were used to determine the thermal characteristics of.the ***,rheological measurements were used to assess the def.rmation and rheological behavior of.the *** results showed that af.er 1 day,good swelling without loss of.mechanical strength was achieved with the composite synthesized using 10%AM,15%AMPS,6%PGV,and 10%ATP.

Localized-states quantum conf.nement induced by roughness in CdMnTe/CdTe heterostructures grown on Si(111) substrates

This work shows that despite a lattice mismatch of.almost 20%, CdMnTe/CdTe/CdMnTe heterostructures grown directly on Si(111) have surprisingly good optical emission properties. The investigated structures were grown by molecular beam epitaxy and characterized by scanning transmission electron microscopy, macro-and micro-photoluminescence. Low temperature macro-photoluminescence experiments indicate three emission bands which depend on the CdTe layer thickness and have dif.erent conf.nement characteristics. Temperature measurements reveal that the lower energy emission band (at 1.48 eV)is associated to def.cts and bound exciton states, while the main emission at 1.61 eV has a weak 2D character and the higher energy one at 1.71 eV has a well-def.ned (zero-dimensional, 0D) 0D nature. Micro-photoluminescence measurements show the existence of.sharp and strongly circularly polarized (up to 40%) emission lines which can be related to the presence of.Mn in the heterostructure. This result opens the possibility of.producing photon sources with the typical spin control of.the diluted magnetic semiconductors using the low-cost silicon technology.

Mathematical modeling and simulations of.stress mitigation by coating polycrystalline particles in lithium-ion batteries

A chemo-mechanical model is developed to investigate the ef.ects on the stress development of.the coating of.polycrystalline ni-rich LinixMnyCo_(z)O_(2)(x≥0.8)(nMC)particles with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT).The simulation results show that the coating of.primary nMC particles signif.cantly reduces the stress generation by ef.iciently accommodating the volume change associated with the lithium dif.usion,and the coating layer plays roles both as a cushion against the volume change and a channel f.r the lithium transport,promoting the lithium distribution across the secondary particles more ***,the lower stif.ness,higher ionic conductivity,and larger thickness of.the coating layer improve the stress *** paper provides a mathematical f.amework f.r calculating the chemo-mechanical responses of.anisotropic electrode materials and f.ndamental insights into how the coating of.nMC active particles mitigates stress levels.

Ef.ects of.Supplemental Glutamine and Lysine on Growth Perf.rmance of.Broiler Chickens

The optimum levels of.Lysine and Glutamine needed f.r growth perf.rmance and maintenance of.the chicken broilers were evaluated in a randomized 3 × 4 f.ctorial arrangement of.dietary treatments. The battery cages measured 99 × 66 × 25 cm that can be suf.icient f.r 5 birds. Day old Chicken broilers totaling 180 were assigned to dietary treatments comprising of.3 concentrations of.Lysine (0.85, 1.14, and 1.42) each in combination with 4 concentrations of.Glutamine (0, 1, 2, and 3). Each dietary treatment was replicated 3 times and each replication had 5 birds. The birds were given f.ed and water ad libitum with a 23-hour light regimen f.r a period of.4 weeks. Then, the experimental birds were evaluated f.r body weight gain, f.ed consumption, and f.ed conversion in order to determine their optimum requirement f.r dietary Lysine and Glutamine. Based on the f.ndings of.this study, the highest perf.rmance was observed in birds f.d the diet supplemented with 1.42 lysine and 1% glutamine, but the highest improvement in f.ed conversion was observed in diet contain 1.14 and 1.42 with 1% and 3% glutamine, respectively. Birds f.d 1.42 lysine and 1% glutamine had the highest total body weight gain and f.ed consumption. The lysine requirements in the diet f.r Chicken are between 1.14 and 1.42 with glutamine level of.1%.
