Energy sustainability is a hot topic in both scientiﬁc and political *** date,two alternative approaches to this issue are being *** peo-ple believe that increasing power consumption is necessary for countries’economic and social progress,while others are more concerned with maintaining carbon consumption under set *** establish a secure,sustainable,and economical energy system while mitigating the consequences of climate change,most governments are currently pushing renewable growth *** mar-kets are meant to provide consumers with dependable electricity at the lowest pos-sible cost.A proﬁt-maximization optimal decision model is created in the electric power market with the combined wind,solar units,loads,and energy storage sys-tems,based on the bidding mechanism in the electricity market and operational *** model utterly considers the technological limits of new energy units and storages,as well as the involvement of new energy and electric vehicles in market bidding through power generation strategy and the output arrangement of the virtual power plant’s coordinated *** accuracy and validity of the optimal decision-making model of combined wind,solar units,loads,and energy storage systems are validated using numerical *** multi-operating scenarios,the effects of renewable energy output changes on joint sys-tem bidding techniques are compared.

Objective:to assess the role of polymerase chain reaction(PCR)in serum sauples,in the diagnosis of osteoarticular tuberculosis(OtB)in a setting where only clinical and imaging diagnoses determine the ***:A total of 44 consecutive serum specimens were collected from clinically suspected OtB patients,based on clinical and radiological[X-ray or magnetic resonance imagng/computecl tomography]*** were scrcened by in-house nested *** addition,a few specimens were examined by Gram stain,acid-fast bacilli stain,histand routine bacterial culture.A total of 39 specimens were collected from patients suffering from other bone diseases of nontuberculous origin and included as negative ***:of the 44 clinically suspected OtB patients,in-house nested PCR was positive in 40(91%)cases;PCR was negative in 38(97%)negative *** and specificity of our in—house nested PCR was 90.3%and 97.4%,*** PCR report was available within 48 *** was possible to standardize serum PCR technique and in positive cases,a good n was observed in terms of an adequate treatment ***:Nested PCR in serum samples is a rapid,highly sensitive and specific modality for OtB detection,PCR should be performed in addition to clinical evaluation,imaging studies,acidfast bacilli staining,culture and histopathology diagnosis,if possible.

Advantages of early cholecystectomy in clinical practice of a terciary care center

BACKGROUND:Despite a number of studies show the superiority of early over delayed cholecystectomy in the treatment of acute cholecystitis,there is still controversy over the time for *** study aimed to assess the use of early versus delayed cholecystectomy for the treatment of acute cholecystitis in terms of complications,conversion to open surgery and mean hospital ***:We collected patients with acute cholecystitis treated at a referral center for a year,and retrospectively analyzed the chosen therapeutic approach,the percentage of conversion of early cholecystectomy to open surgery,appearance of surgical complications,and mean hospital ***:the study included 117 patients,44 women and 73 men,who had a mean age of 67.36±15.74 *** cholecystectomy was chosen in 31(26.5%) and delayed cholecystectomy in 74 patients(63.2%).Of the 74 patients,28(37.8%) required emergency performance of delayed cholecystectomy,and 19(25.7%) had not undergone surgery by the end of the *** no differences were observed between early and delayed cholecystectomy in terms of surgical complications and conversion to open surgery,mean hospital stay was nevertheless significantly shorter in the early versus the delayed cholecystectomy group(8.32±4.98 vs 15.96±8.89 days).CONCLUSION:Under the routine working conditions of a hospital that is neither specially dedicated to the surgical treatment of acute cholecystitis nor provided with specific management guidelines,early cholecystectomy can reduce the hospital stay without increase of the conversion rate or complications.

Since 2002, the treatment of the branching ratios of the φ（2S） and Xc0,1,2 has undergone an important restructuring. When measuring a branching ratio experimentally, it is not always possible to normalize the number of events observed in the corresponding decay mode to the total number of particles produced. therefore, the experimenters sometimes report the number of observed decays with respect to another decay mode of the same or another particle in the relevant decay chain. this is actually equivalent to measuring combinations of branching fractions of several decay modes.

Although the use of stable transformation technology has led to great insight into gene function,its application in high-throughput studies remains ***-infiltration have been widely used in species such as Nicotiana benthamiana for the rapid detection of gene expression and protein interaction analysis,but this technique does not work efficiently in other plant species,including Arabidopsis *** an efficient high-throughput transient expression system is currently lacking in the model plant species ***,we developed a method that is characterized by high efficiency,reproducibility,and suitability for transient expression of a variety of functional proteins in *** and 7 other plant species,including Brassica oleracea,Capsella rubella,thellungiella salsuginea,thellungiella halophila,Solanum tuberosum,Capsicum annuum,and *** of this method was independently verified in three independent research facilities,pointing to the robustness of this ***,in addition to demonstrating the utility of this technique in a range of species,we also present a case study employing this method to assess protein–protein interactions in the sucrose biosynthesis pathway in Arabidopsis.

Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)are the most frequently used stem cells in clinical trials due to their easy isolation from various adult tissues,their ability of homing to injury sites and their potential to differentiate into multiple cell ***,the realization that the beneficial effect of MSCs relies mainly on their paracrine action,rather than on their engraftment in the recipient tissue and subsequent differentiation,has opened the way to cell-free therapeutic strategies in regenerative *** the soluble factors and vesicles secreted by MSCs are commonly known as *** secretome has a key role in cell-to-cell communication and has been proven to be an active mediator of immunemodulation and regeneration both in vitro and in ***,the use of secretome has key advantages over cell-based therapies,such as a lower immunogenicity and easy production,handling and ***,MSCs can be modulated to alter their secretome composition to better suit specific therapeutic goals,thus,opening a large number of *** these advantages now place MSCs secretome at the center of an important number of investigations in different clinical contexts,enabling rapid scientific progress in this field.

Crystal structures of D-psicose 3-epimerase from Clostridium cellulolyticum H10 and its complex with ketohexose sugars

D-Psicose 3-epimerase(DPEase)is demonstrated to be useful in the bioproduction of D-psicose,a rare hexose sugar,from D-fructose,found plenty in *** cellulolyticum H10 has recently been identified as a DPEase that can epimerize D-fructose to yield D-psicose with a much higher conversion rate when compared with the conventionally used *** this study,the crystal structure of the *** DPEase was *** enzyme assembles into a tetramer and each subunit shows a(β/α)8 tIM barrel fold with a Mn2+metal ion in the active *** crystal structures of the enzyme in complex with substrates/products(D-psicose,D-fructose,D-tagatose and D-sorbose)were also *** the complex structures of *** DPEase with D-psicose and D-fructose,the enzyme has much more interactions with D-psicose than D-fructose by forming more hydrogen bonds between the substrate and the active site ***,based on these ketohexosebound complex structures,a C3-O3 proton-exchange mechanism for the conversion between D-psicose and D-fructose is proposed *** results provide a clear idea for the deprotonation/protonation roles of E150 and E244 in catalysis.

Our knowledge about the food habits of sea snakes and how it is associated with their distribution has seen much development through its description across a number of species available through published literature except for the key threatened species such asHydrophis semperi. this paper aims to describe the food habits ofH. semperi through gut content and stable isotope analyses. We also compared data with the Little File Snake,Acrochordus granulatus, sympatric withH. *** captures ofH. semperi suggest that the sea snake tends to occur in the littoral zones and the shallower portions of the limnetic zone. Gut content analysis ofH. semperi have shown that gobies and eels are primary prey items. Halfbeaks （Family Hemiramphidae） were recorded as one of the Lake taal Sea Snake＇s prey items which is considered as a new prey record for sea snakes. these extracted gut contents are conifrmed to be the temporal food preference ofH. semperi given our detected stable isotope signatures. It appears thatA. granulatus and H. semperi share common prey items suggesting possible diet overlap and resource *** study reports the ifrst account of the endemic Lake taal Sea Snake＇s distribution and food habits which poses implications towards its conservation as it occurs in a restricted ecosystem that has undergone considerable habitat alteration.
