Plant Metabolic Network 15:A resource of genome-wide metabolism databases for 126 plants and algae

To understand and engineer plant metabolism, we need a comprehensive and accurate annotation of all metabolic information across plant species. As a step towards this goal, we generated genome-scale metabolic pathway databases of 126 algal and plant genomes, ranging from model organisms to crops to medicinal plants(https://***).Of these, 104 have not been reported *** systematically evaluated the quality of the databases, which revealed that our semi-automated validation pipeline dramatically improves the quality. We then compared the metabolic content across the 126 organisms using multiple correspondence analysis and found that Brassicaceae,Poaceae, and Chlorophyta appeared as metabolically distinct groups. To demonstrate the utility of this resource, we used recently published sorghum transcriptomics data to discover previously unreported trends of metabolism underlying drought tolerance. We also used single-cell transcriptomics data from the Arabidopsis root to infer cell typespecific metabolic pathways. This work shows the quality and quantity of our resource and demonstrates its wide-ranging utility in integrating metabolism with other areas of plant biology.

Plants sense neighbor proximity as a decrease in the red to far-red ratio of incoming light,which triggers a series of developmental responses known collectively as the "shade avoidance syndrome"(SAS).In Arabidopsis thalianu,phytochrome B is the major sensor of shade light,but to date phytochrome excitation has not been linked directly to a growth response. We show that the bHLH transcription factor,PIF7,previously shown to interact with phytochrome B,accumulates in its dephosphorylated form in shade,allowing it to bind to the promoters of a subset of auxin biosynthetic genes and increase their *** new auxin is required for changes in growth in the shade,our studies link directly the perception of a light quality signal to a rapid growth *** are also working on a most shade induced gene PIL1 and find PIL1 protein accumulates after shade treatment and PIL1 overexpression attenuates expression of many shade-induced ***,PIL1 protein represses PIL1 expression to form a self-limiting feedback ***,PIL1 is a negative regulator of the shade-induced transcriptional response in Arabidopsis.

The objective of this work was to determine the suitability of poultry methacompost from the 2nd methanizer of the BRIN FOUNDATION in Yaokokoroko (Bondoukou, Côte d’Ivoire), to be used in the improvement of soil fertility. The methacompost studied has a C/N ratio = 17.26, which could characterize a stable methacompost with high amending power. It also contains mineral elements Nitrogen (N) = 0.68% DM;Phosphorus (P) = 0.084% DM;Potassium (K) = 0.67% DM;Calcium (Ca) = 0.65% DM;Magnesium (Mg) = 0.15% DM. red in the standard relating to the organic amendments (NFU 44-051). The methacompost has fertilizing and amending properties and could not present any risk for vegetation and soils.
