A sensitive square-wave voltammetric method for the determination of lmidacloprid （IMD） was developed using electrochemically pretreated boron-doped diamond （BDD） electrode. Aqueous solutions were prepared with Confidor 200 Sl as the commercial formulation of IMD. Sodium sulfate （Na2SO4） was used as supporting electrolyte. The influence of operating parameters, such as the pH of the medium, frequency, pulse amplitude, scan increment and the concentration of IMD was investigated. An irreversible cathodic peak, corresponding to the reduction oflMD is observed at 1.21 V （vs. SCE） and the electrode reaction was controlled by adsorption. Under optimized conditions, the square-wave reduction peak current was linear over the concentration range of （30-200 μmol l 1） with a detection and quantification limits of 8.60 μmol l 1 and 28.67 μmol l 1, respectively. The results were compared with spectrophotometry and HPlC methods under some conditions and found to be in good agreement. To investigate applicability to real samples, the proposed method was applied to the determination of IMD in plum juice.

The uptake of metals in roots and their transfer to rhizomes and above-ground plant parts（stems, leaves） of cattails（Typha latifolia l.） were studied in leachates from a domestic landfill site（Etueffont, France） and treated in a natural lagooning system. Plant parts and corresponding water and sediment samples were taken at the inflow and outflow points of the four ponds at the beginning and at the end of the growing season. Concentrations of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni and Zn in the different compartments were estimated and their removal efficiency assessed, reaching more than 90% for Fe, Mn and Ni in spring and fall as well in the water compartment. The above-and below-ground cattail biomass varied from 0.21 to 0.85, and 0.34 to 1.24 kg dry weight/m^2, respectively, the highest values being recorded in the fourth pond in spring 2011. The root system was the first site of accumulation before the rhizome, stem and leaves. The highest metal concentration was observed in roots from cattails growing at the inflow of the system＇s first pond. The trend in the average trace element concentrations in the cattail plant organs can generally be expressed as： Fe 〉 Mn 〉 As 〉 Zn 〉 Cr 〉 Cu 〉 Ni 〉 Cd for both spring and fall. While T. latifolia removes trace elements efficiently from landfill leachates, attention should also be paid to the negative effects of these elements on plant growth.

The present work aimed to study the physiological effects of cadmium （Cd） and copper （Cu） in pea （Pisum sativum）. Pea plants were exposed to increasing doses of cadmium chloride （CdCl2） and copper chloride （CuCl2） for 20 d. The examined parameters, namely root and shoot lengths, the concentration of photosynthetic pigments and the rate of photosynthesis were affected by the treatments especially with high metals concentrations. The analysis of heavy metals accumulation shows that leaves significantly accumulate cadmium for all the tested concentrations. However, copper was significantly accumulated only with the highest tested dose. This may explain the higher inhibitory effects of cadmium on photosynthesis and growth in pea plants. These results are valuable for understanding the biological consequences of heavy metals contamination particularly in soils devoted to organic agriculture.

The occurrence of antibiotics in the environment has recently raised serious concern regarding their potential threat to aquatic ecosystem and human health. In this study, the magnetic ion exchange（MIEX） resin was applied for removing three commonly-used antibiotics, sulfamethoxazole（SMX）, tetracycline（TCN） and amoxicillin（AMX） from *** results of batch experiments show that the maximum adsorption capacities on the MIEX resin for SMX, TCN and AMX were 789.32, 443.18 and 155.15 μg/m l at 25°C,respectively, which were 2–7 times that for the powdered activated carbon. The adsorption kinetics of antibiotics on the MIEX resin could be simulated by the pseudo-second-order model（R^2= 0.99）, and the adsorption isotherm data were well described by the langmuir model（R^2= 0.97）. Solution p H exhibited a remarkable impact on the adsorption process and the absorbed concentrations of the tested antibiotics were obtained around the neutral p *** MIEX resin could be easily regenerated by 2 mol/l Na Cl solution and maintained high adsorption removal for the tested antibiotics after regeneration. Anion exchange mechanism mainly controlled the adsorption of antibiotic and the formation of hydrogen binding between the antibiotic and resin can also result in the increase of adsorption capacity. The high adsorption capacity, fast adsorption rate and prominent reusability make the MIEX resin a potential adsorbent in the application for removing antibiotics from water.

Effect of industrial microwave irradiation on the physicochemical properties and pyrolysis characteristics of lignite

The surface functional groups and pyrolysis characteristics of lignite irradiated by microwave were comparatively studied to evaluate the feasibility of using industrial 915 MHz for lignite drying. The drying kinetics, micro structure, chemical functional groups, re-adsorption properties, and pyrolysis characteristics of the dried coal were respectively analyzed. Results indicated that for typical Chinese lignite studied in this paper, 915 MHz microwave drying was 7.8 times faster than that of the hot air drying. After industrial microwave drying, the sample possessed much higher total specific surface area and specific pore volume than that of air dried sample. The oxygen functional groups and re-adsorption ratio of microwave irradiated coal decreased, showing weakened hydrophilicity. Moreover, during the pyrolysis of the coal dried by hot air and microwave, the yield of tar largely increased from 1.3% to 8.5% and the gas production increased correspondingly. The composition of the tar was also furtherly analyzed, results indicated that Miscellaneous hydrocarbons(HCs) were the main component of the tar, and microwave irradiation can reduce the fraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) from 26.4% to 22.7%.

Background Coronary artery disease(CAD)remains a leading cause of morbidity and *** play a potential role in atherosclerosis pathogenesis and *** investigated the association between high sensitive C-reactive protein(hs CRP)and severity of *** CAD patients were stratified according to hs CRP cut-off value into high levels hs CRP group(≥8.4 mg/l)and low levels hs CRP group(l).Severity of CAD was assessed according to artery stenosis degree and the number of vessel *** analysis was performed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences(SPSS,version 23.0).Results The mean age was 60.3±11.0 *** level of hs CRP was increased and ranged from 0.2 to 1020.0 mg/*** risk factors and severity of CAD didn’t show significant differences between the two *** multivariate linear analysis,cardiac troponin I(c Tn I)and serum amyloid A(SAA)were predictors of hs *** shown in receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis performed in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI)and compared to myonecrosis biomarkers,hs CRP(area under the curve(AUC):0.905;95%CI:0.844-0.966;Pld be a powerful predictor marker in evaluating the infarct size after myocardial infarction but not better than c Tn *** Hs CRP levels were not associated with the severity of CAD but could be useful in the evaluation of myocardial necrosis in patients with STEMI.

A series of PdCu bimetallic catalysts with low Cu and Pd loadings and different Cu:Pd atomic ratios were prepared by conventionally sequential impregnation(CSD)and modified sequential impregnation(MSI)of Cu and Pd for selective hydrogenation of *** indicates that the supported copper(I)nitrate in the PdCu bimetallic catalysts prepared by MSI can be directly reduced to Cu metal particles due to the hydrogen spillover from Pd to Cu(NO3)2 *** addition,for the catalysts prepared by MSI,Pd atoms can form PdCu alloy on the surface of metal particles,however,for the catalysts prepared by CSI,Pd tends to migrate and exist below the surface layer of *** results indicate that compared with CSI,the MSI method enables samples to possess preferable stability as well as comparable reaction *** should be due to the MSI method in favor of the formation of PdCu alloy on the surface of metal ***,even Pd loading is super low,loading to an appropriate value,attractive reactivity and selectivity still can be achieved.

Background: Multiple lines of evidence suggest possible impairment of the glymphatic system in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (AlS). To investigate this, we used in vivo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess glymphatic func-tion early in the course of disease in a transgenic mouse with doxycycline (Dox)-controlled expression of cytoplasmic human TDP-43 (hTDP-43ΔNlS), mimicking the key pathology implicated in AlS. Methods: Adult TDP-43 transgenic and littermate monogenic control mice underwent longitudinal multimodal MRI one and three weeks after the cessation of Dox feed, together with weekly rotarod assessments of motor per-formance. Glymphatic function was assessed using dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI to track the clearance of an MR contrast agent injected into the cisterna magna. Results: Compared to their littermate controls, TDP-43 mice exhibited progressive neurodegeneration including that within the primary motor cortex, primary somatosensory cortex and corticospinal tract, significant weight loss includ-ing gastrocnemius atrophy, and shortened telomere length. Furthermore, in the presence of this AlS-like phenotype, these mice have significantly disrupted glymphatic function. Conclusions: Although the relationship between glymphatic clearance and AlS disease progression remains to be elucidated, these changes occurred very early in the disease course. This provides initial evidence to suggest that the glymphatic system might be a potential therapeutic target in the treatment of AlS.

From fraud detection to speech recognition,including price prediction,Machine learning(Ml)applications are manifold and can significantly improve different ***,machine learning models are vulnerable and are exposed to different security and privacy ***,these issues should be addressed while using Ml models to preserve the security and privacy of the data *** is a need to secure Ml models,especially in the training phase to preserve the privacy of the training datasets and to minimise the information *** this paper,we present an overview of Ml threats and vulnerabilities,and we highlight current progress in the research works proposing defence techniques againstMl security and privacy *** relevant background for the different attacks occurring in both the training and testing/inferring phases is introduced before presenting a detailed overview of Membership Inference Attacks(MIA)and the related *** this paper,we introduce a countermeasure against membership inference attacks(MIA)on Conventional Neural Networks(CNN)based on dropout and l2 *** experimental analysis,we demonstrate that this defence technique can mitigate the risks of MIA attacks while ensuring an acceptable accuracy of the ***,using CNN model training on two datasets CIFAR-10 and CIFAR-100,we empirically verify the ability of our defence strategy to decrease the impact of MIA on our model and we compare results of five different ***,we present a solution to achieve a trade-off between the performance of themodel and the mitigation of MIA attack.
