Multitoxin Bt-crops expressing insecticidal toxins with different modes of action, for example, Cry and Vip, are expected to improve resistance management in target pests. While Cry1A resistance has been relatively well characterized in some insect species, this is not the case for Vip3A, for which no mechanism of resistance has yet been identified. Here we applied HT-SuperSAGe to analyze the transcriptome of the gut tissue of tobacco budworm Heliothis virescens (F.) laboratory-selected for Vip3Aa resistance. From a total of 1 324 252 sequence reads, 5 895 126-bp tags were obtained representing 17 751 nonsingleton unique transcripts (UniTags) from genetically similar Vip3Aa-resistant (Vip- Sel) and susceptible control (Vip-Unsel) strains. Differential expression was significant (≥2.5 fold or ≤0.4;P r 1989 sequences (11.2% of total UniTags), where 420 represented overexpressed (Oe) and 1569 underexpressed (Ue) genes in Vip-Sel. BLASTN searches mapped 419 UniTags to H. virescens sequence contigs, of which, 416 (106 Oe and 310 Ue) were unambiguously annotated to proteins in NCBI nonredundant protein databases. Gene Ontology distributed 345 of annotated UniTags in 14 functional categories with metabolism (including serine-type hydrolases) and translation/ribosome biogenesis being the most prevalent. A UniTag homologous to a particular member of the response to PAthogen (rePAT) family was found among most overexpressed, while UniTags related to the putative Vip3Aa-binding ribosomal protein S2 (rpS2) were underexpressed. qrT-PCr of a subset of UniTags validated the HT-SuperSAGe data. this study is the first providing lepidopteran gut transcriptome associated with Vip3Aa resistance and a foundation for future attempts to elucidate the resistance mechanism.

Magnetic Characterization of Amphibolites from the Fomopéa Pluton(West Cameroon):their Implication in the Pan-African Deformation of the Central African Fold Belt

the Fomopea granitic pluton is emplaced in gnessic and amphibolitic basement. these gneissic and amphibolitic basement rocks are represented in the pluton＇s body as sub-rounded, elongated or stretched xenoliths. Amphibolitic xenoliths display testimonies of two main tectonic events namely：（i） el flattening deformation event characterized by a NW-Se to e-W foliation with a best pole at 246/57 and a mineral stretched lineation with a best line at 293/47; and （ii） e2 compressive event typified by （1） N-S to NNe-SSW steeply dipping foliation; （2） S-type flexion-fold indicating a sinistral shear movement. these amphibolite rocks indicate a magnetic susceptibility magnitude （Km） range from 418 ~SI to 90092 IISI for 87% of the stations showing a ferromagnetic behavior. K-T curves reveal the presence of Ti-poor magnetite as susceptibility mineral carrier. Magnetic foliation and lineation suggest that the N-S strike direction observed in the Bamendou amphibolite is, as pointed out elsewhere in the Central African Fold Belt, of paramount importance in the tectonic evaluation of the Fomopea area, since it has most likely acted as major deformation phase in the second tectonic event in the belt.

An explanation of the △_(D35)（1930） as a ρ△ bound state

Constituent quark models based on two-body potentials systematically overpredict the mass of △D35(1930). A possible solution to this problem comes out from the application of a schematic hybrid model, containing three-quark as well as meson-baryon components, to the light-quark baryon spectrum. the △D35(1930) and its partners △D33(1940) and △S31(1900) are found to contain a significant ρ△ component. then, through the use of the hidden gauge formalism, it is shown that these resonances can be dynamically generated from the ρ-△ interaction. In particular △D35(1930) can be interpreted as being essentially a ρ△bound state. this interpretation suggests that the inclusion of ρ△as an effective inelastic channel in data analyses could improve the extraction and identification of the resonance.

the nature and distribution of Cu species in Cu-SSZ-13 play a vital role in selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH3(NH3-SCr),but existing methods for adjusting the Cu distribution are complex and difficult to ***,we report a simple and effective ion-exchange approach to regulate the Cu distribution in the one-pot synthesized Cu-SSZ-13 that possesses sufficient initial Cu species and thus provides a“natural environment”for adjusting Cu distribution *** using this proposed strategy,a series of Cu-SSZ-13x zeolites with different Cu contents and distributions were *** is shown that the dealumination of the as-synthesized Cu-SSZ-13 during the ion-exchange generates abundant vacant sites in the double six-membered-rings of the SSZ-13 zeolite for relocating Cu2+species and thus allows the redistribution of the Cu *** catalytic results showed that the ion-exchanged Cu-SSZ-13 zeolites exhibit quite different catalytic performance in NH3-SCr reaction but superior to the parent *** structure–activity relationship analysis indicates that the redistribution of Cu species rather than other factors(e.g.,crystallinity,chemical composition,and porous structure)is responsible for the improved NH3-SCr performance and SO_(2) and H_(2)O *** work offers an effective method to precisely adjust the Cu distribution in preparing the industrial SCr catalysts.

Optimized model-based control of main mine ventilation air flows with minimized energy consumption

In early 2018,the Boliden Garpenberg operation implemented an optimized control strategy as an addition to the existing ventilation on demand *** purpose of the strategy is to further minimize energy use for main and booster fans,whilst also fulfilling airflow setpoints without violating constraints such as min/max differential pressure over fans and interaction of air between areas in *** air flow measurements and a dynamical model of the ventilation system,a mine-wide coordination control of fans can be carried *** numerical model is data driven and derived from historical operational data or step changes *** makes both initial deployment and lifetime model maintenance,as the mine evolves,a comparably easy *** control has been proven to operate in a stable manner over long periods without having to re-calibrate the *** prove a 40%decrease in energy use for the fans involved and a greater controllability of air ***,a 15%decrease of the total air flow into the mine will give additional proportional heating savings during winter *** in all,the multivariable controller shows a correlation between production in the mine and the ventilation system performance superior to all of its predecessors.

A review of the systemic acute phase reaction with major cytokines involved, and the hepatic metabolic changes, negative and positive acute phase proteins (APPs) with function and associated pathology is given. It appears that APPs represent appropriate analytes for assessment of animal health. Whereas they represent non-specific markers as biological effect reactants, they can be used for assessing nutritional deficits and reactive processes, especially when positive and negative acute phase variables are combined in an index. When such acute phase index is applied to separate healthy animals from animals with some disease, much better results are obtained than with single analytes and statistically acceptable results for culling individual animals may be reached. Unfortunately at present no cheap, comprehensive and easy to use system is available for assessing various acute phase proteins in serum or blood samples at the same time. Protein microarray or fluid phase microchip technology may satisfy this need; and permit simultaneous analysis of numerous analytes in the same small volume sample and enable integration of information derived from systemic reactivity and nutrition with disease specific variables. Applying such technology may help to solve health problems in various countries not only in animal husbandry but also in human populations.
