AIM:To investigate the influence of ophthalmic viscoelastic devices(OVDs)and different surgical approaches on the intraocular pressure(IOP)before and after creation of the curvilinear circular capsulorhexis(CCC)as a measure for anterior chamber stability during this ***:Prospective experimental WetLab study carried out on enucleated porcine *** was measured before and after CCC with the iCare Rebound tonometer(iCare ic200;iCare Finland Oy,Vantaa,Finland).The OVDs used were a cohesive one[Z-Hyalin,Carl Zeiss Meditec AG,Germany;hyaluronic acid(HA)]and a dispersive[Z-Celcoat,Carl Zeiss Meditec AG,Germany;hydroxy propylmethylcellulosis(HPMC)].The CCC was created using Utrata forceps or 23 g microforceps in different combinations with the ***:Using the Utrata forceps the IOP dropped from 63.65±6.44 to 11.25±3.63 mm Hg during the *** use of different OVDs made no *** the 23 g microforceps the IOP dropped from 65.35±8.15 to 36.55±6.09 mm *** difference between IOP drop using either Utrata forceps or 23 g microforceps was highly significant regardless of the OVD ***:Using the sideport for the creation of the capsulorhexis leads to a lesser drop in IOP during this maneuver compared to the main incision in enucleated porcine *** use of different OVD has no significant influence on IOP drop.

Stacked bar charts are a visualization method for presenting multiple attributes of data,and many visualization tools support these *** assess the efficacy of stacked bar charts in supporting attributecomparison tasks,we conducted a user study to compare three types of stacked bar charts:classical,inverting,and *** chart type was used to visualize six attributes of data where half of the attributes have the characteristics of‘lower better’whereas the other half attributes are with‘higher better.’Thirty participants were asked to perform two types of comparison tasks:single-attribute and overall-attribute *** measured the completion time,error rate,and perceived difficulty of the comparison *** results of the study suggest that,for overall-attribute comparisons,the inverting stacked bar chart was the most effective with regards to the completion *** results also show that performing overall-attribute comparisons using the classical and diverging stacked bar charts required more time than performing single-attribute comparisons using these *** perceived the inverting and diverging stacked bar charts as easier-to-use than the classical stacked bar chart for overall-attribute ***,for single-attribute comparisons,all chart types delivered similar *** discuss how these findings can inform the better design of interactive stacked bar charts and visualization tools.

Wastewater from dairy farms has become a major environmental and economical *** residue in treated and untreated wastewater from dairy farms used for irrigation can lead to soil and groundwater salinization,with the risk of soil *** examined the effect of reducing sodium fed to mid to late lactating cows from 0.61%(high sodium[HS])to 0.45%(low sodium[LS])of dry matter on dry matter intake(DMI),milk and milk-component yields,eating behavior,apparent total track digestibility,feed efficiency,and sodium excretion into the *** randomly assigned 28 multiparous high-yielding(>35 kg milk/d)cows to 1 of 2 treatment groups(LS or HS)in a crossover design,with 7 d of adaptation and 28 d of data *** sodium in the diet reduced sodium intake from 171 to 123 g/d while lowering sodium excreted in the manure by 22%.Energy corrected milk(ECM)yield(37.4 kg/d)and sodium excretion in the milk(33.7 g/d)were similar for both *** DMI of LS cows was lower than that of HS cows(27.3 vs.28 kg/d)and consequently,feed efficiency of the LS cows was higher(1.40 vs.1.35 ECM/DMI).Eating rate,meal and visit frequency,and eating time were similar for both treatments;meal and visit duration were longer for the HS cows,and meal and visit sizes tended to be *** of DM and amylase-treated neutral detergent fiber remained *** on the results of this study,and discussed considerations,we recommend lowering the dietary sodium content for mid to late lactating cows in commercial herds to 0.52%of DM,in order to reduce sodium excretion to the environment via urine.

This study aimed to demonstrate the application of Long Reach Directionally Drilled Boreholes(LRDD)for gas drainage of adjacent seams before and during the longwall face operations of low permeability-high gas content coals Staszic-Wujek Hard Coal Mine in the Upper Silesia Coal Basin(Poland).Five LRDD Boreholes(TM1a-TM5)with a length of 300 and 400 m were located over coal seam 501 in the fractured zone and monitored over six months of longwall face *** Boreholes were combined with Cross-Measured *** characterization and geological modeling supported the results obtained from gas *** drainage efficiency of LRDD Boreholes was the approxi-mately 70%level,while conventional Cross-Measured Boreholes were only 30%.The highest goaf gas quality(94%methane concentration)was reported for TM4,placed at an average elevation of 41 m above coal seam *** highest goaf gas production(average 6.2 m^(3)/min)was reported for LRDD Borehole *** borehole was placed within the fracture zone(average elevation of 24.4 m)and drilled through the sandstone lithotype with the best reservoir properties,enhancing drainage *** Boreholes TM2 and TM4 achieved similar *** three LRDD Boreholes were drilled close to the maximum principal horizontal stress direction,providing borehole stability during *** lowest goaf gas production was reported for LRDD Boreholes TM1a and *** Boreholes were placed in the rubble zone.

Applicability of optoacoustic imaging in biology and medicine is determined by several key performance *** particular,an inherent trade-off exists between the acquired field-of-view(FOV)and temporal resolution of the measurements,which may hinder studies looking at rapid biodynamics at the whole-body ***,we report on a single-sweep volumetric optoacoustic tomography(sSVOT)system that attains whole body three-dimensional mouse scans within 1.8 s with better than 200μm spatial *** employs a spherical matrix array transducer in combination with multibeam illumination,the latter playing a critical role in maximizing the effective FOV and imaging speed *** system further takes advantage of the spatial response of the individual ultrasound detection elements to mitigate common image artifacts related to limited-view tomographic geometry,thus enabling rapid acquisitions without compromising image quality and *** compare performance metrics to the previously reported whole-body mouse imaging implementations and alternative image compounding and reconstruction *** is anticipated that sSVOT will open new venues for studying large-scale biodynamics,such as accumulation and clearance of molecular agents and drugs across multiple organs,circulation of cells,and functional responses to stimuli.

Purpose:The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a 17-week,3-component lifestyle intervention for enhancing health behaviors during the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)***:A parallel-group(intervention and control)study was conducted amongst 79 airline pilots over a 17-week period during the COVID-19 *** intervention group(n=38)received a personalized sleep,dietary,and physical activity(PA)*** control group(n=41)received no *** measures for sleep,fruit and vegetable intake,PA,and subjective health were measured though an online survey before and after the 17-week *** changes in outcome measures were used to determine the efficacy of the ***:Significant main effects for time￡group were found for International Physical Activity Questionnaire-walk(p=0.02)and for all other outcome measures(p<0.01).The intervention group significantly improved in sleep duration(p<0.01;d=1.35),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score(p<0.01;d=1.14),moderate-to-vigorous PA(p<0.01;d=1.44),fruit and vegetable intake(p<0.01;d=2.09),Short Form 12v2 physical score(p<0.01;d=1.52),and Short Form 12v2 mental score(p<0.01;d=2.09).The control group showed significant negative change for sleep duration,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score,and Short Form 12v2 mental score(p<0.01).Conclusion:Results provide preliminary evidence that a 3-component healthy sleep,eating,and PA intervention elicit improvements in health behaviors and perceived subjective health in pilots and may improve quality of life during an unprecedented global pandemic.

Hand-held implementations of recently intro- duced real-time volumetric tomography approaches repre- sent a promising path toward clinical translation of the optoacoustic technology. To this end, rapid acquisition of optoacoustic image data with spherical matrix arrays has attained exquisite visualizations of three-dimensional vascular morphology and function deep in human tissues. Nevertheless, significant reconstruction inaccuracies may arise from speed of sound （SOS） mismatches between the imaged tissue and the coupling medium used to propagate the generated optoacoustic responses toward the ultra- sound sensing elements. Herein, we analyze the effects of SoS variations in three-dimensional hand-held tomo- graphic acquisition geometries. An efficient graphics processing unit （GPU）-based reconstruction framework is further proposed to mitigate the SoS-related image quality degradation without compromising the high-frame-rate volumetric imaging performance of the method, essential for real-time visualization during hand-held scans.
