Using deep neural networks coupled with principal component analysis for ore production forecasting at open-pit mines

Ore production is usually affected by multiple influencing inputs at open-pit ***,the complex nonlinear relationships between these inputs and ore production remain *** becomes even more challenging when training data(*** haulage information and weather conditions)are *** machine learning(ML)algorithms,deep neural network(DNN)is a superior method for processing nonlinear and massive data by adjusting the amount of neurons and hidden *** study adopted DNN to forecast ore production using truck haulage information and weather conditions at open-pit mines as training *** the prediction models were built,principal component analysis(PCA)was employed to reduce the data dimensionality and eliminate the multicollinearity among highly correlated input *** verify the superiority of DNN,three ANNs containing only one hidden layer and six traditional ML models were established as benchmark *** DNN model with multiple hidden layers performed better than the ANN models with a single hidden *** DNN model outperformed the extensively applied benchmark models in predicting ore *** can provide engineers and researchers with an accurate method to forecast ore production,which helps make sound budgetary decisions and mine planning at open-pit mines.

Silicon suboxide(SiO_(x),x≈1)is promising in serving as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries with high capacity,but it has a low initial Coulombic efficiency(ICE)due to the irreversible formation of lithium silicates during the first *** this work,we modify SiO_(x) by solid-phase Mg doping reaction using low-cost Mg powder as a reducing *** show that Mg reduces SiO_(2) in SiO_(x) to Si and forms MgSiO_(3) or Mg_(2)SiO_(4).The MgSiO_(3) or Mg_(2)SiO_(4) are mainly distributed on the surface of SiO_(x),which suppresses the irreversible lithium-ion loss and enhances the ICE of SiO_(x).However,the formation of MgSiO_(3) or Mg_(2)SiO_(4) also sacrifices the capacity of SiO_(x).Therefore,by controlling the reaction process between Mg and SiO_(x),we can tune the phase composition,proportion,and morphology of the Mg-doped SiO_(x) and manipulate the *** obtain samples with a capacity of 1226 mAh g^(–1) and an ICE of 84.12%,which show significant improvement over carbon-coated SiO_(x) without Mg *** the synergistical modification of both Mg doping and prelithiation,the capacity of SiO_(x) is further increased to 1477 mAh g^(–1) with a minimal compromise in the ICE(83.77%).

Pien Tze Huang (PZH), a class-1 nationally protected traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), has been used to treat liver diseases such as hepatitis; however, the effect of PZH on the progression of sepsis is unknown. Here, we reported that PZH attenuated lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced sepsis in mice and reduced LPS-induced production of proinflammatory cytokines in macrophages by inhibiting the activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kB) signalling. Mechanistically, PZH stimulated signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) phosphorylation to induce the expression of A20, which could inhibit the activation of NF-kB and MAPK signalling. Knockdown of the bile acid (BA) receptor G protein-coupled bile acid receptor 1 (TGR5) in macrophages abolished the effects of PZH on STAT3 phosphorylation and A20 induction, as well as the LPS-induced inflammatory response, suggesting that BAs in PZH may mediate its anti-inflammatory effects by activating TGR5. Consistently, deprivation of BAs in PZH by cholestyramine resin reduced the effects of PZH on the expression of phosphorylated-STAT3 and A20, the activation of NF-kB and MAPK signalling, and the production of proinflammatory cytokines, whereas the addition of BAs to cholestyramine resintreated PZH partially restored the inhibitory effects on the production of proinflammatory cytokines. Overall, our study identifies BAs as the effective components in PZH that activate TGR5-STAT3-A20 signalling to ameliorate LPS-induced sepsis. (c) 2023 The Author(s). LaFe_(11.8)Si_(1.2)/10 wt%Ce_(60)Co_(40) composites were prepared by spark plasma sintering and subsequent diffusion annealing.A novel core-shell structure is observed with the LaFe11.8Si1.2 particles as the core and the(La,Ce)_(2)(Fe,Co,Si)_(17)(2:17)phase as the *** diffusion annealing time(t_(a))increases,this core-shell structure is replaced by the formation of the(La,Ce)_(1)(Fe,Co,Si)_(13) *** at 1323 K for 12 h results in samples with(-ΔSM)^(max) of 9.30 J/(kg·K)(Δμ0H=2 T),good mechanical properties((σbc)^(max)=402 MPa,ε=4.21%)and thermal conductivity of 8.7 W/(m·K).Thus,bulk composites with excellent comprehensive properties for magnetic refrigeration are obtained in this work.
