Construction loading before the age of 28 d can have the most significant effects on the slabs, especially for multi-story structures. The changing properties of the young concrete complicate the prediction of serviceability design requirements also. An experimental investigation is performed on four simply supported Light-Weight Concrete （LWC） one-way slabs subjected to immediate loading at 14 d. Effects of aggregate type, loading levels and cracking moment together with the influences of ultimate moment capacity and service moment on the instantaneous deflection of slabs are studied. Comparison of the obtained results with predictions of existing models in the literature shows considerable differences between the recorded and estimated instantaneous deflection of LWC slabs. Based on sensitivity analysis of the effective parameters, a new equation is proposed and verified to predict the instantaneous deflection of LWC slabs subjected to loading at the age of 14 d.

AIM: To investigate the effectiveness of combinationtherapy with transzonular triamcinolone-moxifloxacin andconventional perioperative drops in reducing postoperativecomplications of cataract surgery. METHODS: Electronic medical records of cataractsurgery patients (single surgeon) were reviewed fromJanuary 2018 to September 2021. The rate of postoperativecomplications including prolonged and/or recurrentpostoperative inflammation, endophthalmitis, cystoid macularedema (CME), and intraocular pressure (IOP) was comparedbetween the patients receiving combinative therapy andpatients receiving drops only. RESULTS: Totally 596 patients and 1057 eyes(Combinative-Therapy group 493 and Drop-Only group 564)were included in this study. Using combination therapyreduced the relative risk of postoperative inflammationby 26.9% (16.6% Combinative-Therapy vs 22.7% Drop-Only, P=0.013). The incidence of endophthalmitis was 0in Combinative-Therapy group vs 0.5% in Drop-Only group(relative risk reduction 100%), although not statisticallysignificant (P=0.10). The incidence of severe IOP spikeswas not significantly different between Combinative-Therapy (2.4%) and Drop-Only (1.6%) groups (P=0.33).The relative risk of postoperative CME was 51.4% less inthree months follow up visit in Combinative-Therapy group,although not statistically significant (P=0.07). The visualoutcome 1-month postop. (best corrected visual acuity) wassignificantly better in Combinative-Therapy (logMAR 0.10)compared to Drop-Only (logMAR 0.14) groups (P=0.02) whilethe baseline visual acuity was not significantly different. CONCLUSION: The combinative approach oftranszonular triamcinolone-moxifloxacin plus perioperativeeyedrops is an effective method to minimize postoperativeinflammation, with better visual outcomes. It couldpotentially reduce the risk of postoperative endophthalmitisand CME (near-significant P-values;larger studies couldanalyze better considering low incidence).

BACKGROUND Monoclonal antibodies(mAbs)have shown clinical benefits against coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).Several studies have reported the use of bamlanivimab as a promising treatment option for COVID-19.AIM To synthesize the latest evidence for the efficacy and safety of bamlanivimab alone in the treatment of adult patients with COVID-19.METHODS A literature search was conducted in PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,medRxiv,and Google Scholar using“SARS-CoV-2”,“COVID-19”,“LY-CoV555”,and“Bamlanivimab”keywords up to January 25,2023.The quality of included studies was assessed using the Cochrane bias tools.The Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software version 3.0 was used to analyze the data.RESULTS A total of 30 studies involving 47368 patients were included.A significant difference was observed between the bamlanivimab and standard of care/placebo groups in terms of mortality rate[risk ratio(RR)=50,95%confidence interval(CI):0.36-0.70],hospitalization rate(RR=0.51;95%CI:0.39-0.68),and emergency department(ED)visits(RR=0.69;95%CI:0.47-0.99);while the two groups exhibited no significant difference in terms of intensive care unit(ICU)admission(P>0.05).Compared to other mAbs,bamlanivimab was associated with a higher rate of hospitalization(RR=1.44;95%CI:1.07-1.94).However,no significant difference was detected between the bamlanivimab and other mAbs groups in terms of mortality rate,ICU admission,and ED(P>0.05).The incidence of any adverse events was similar between the bamlanivimab and control groups(P>0.05).CONCLUSION Although the results suggest the efficacy and safety of bamlanivimab in COVID-19 patients,further research is required to confirm the efficacy of this drug for the current circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants.

Purpose:The purpose of the National Spinal Cord Injury Registry of Iran(NSCIR-IR)is to create an infrastructure to assess the quality of care for spine trauma and in this study,we aim to investigate whether the NSCIR-IR successfully provides necessary post-discharge follow-up data for these patients.Methods:An observational prospective study was conducted from April 11,2021 to April 22,2022 in 8 centers enrolled in NSCIR-IR,respectively Arak,Rasht,Urmia,Shahroud,Yazd,Kashan,Tabriz,and Tehran.Patients were classified into 3 groups based on their need for care resources,respectively:(1)non-spinal cord injury(SCI)patients without surgery(group 1),(2)non-SCI patients with surgery(group 2),and(3)SCI patients(group 3).The assessment tool was a self-designed questionnaire to evaluate the care quality in 3 phases:pre-hospital,in-hospital,and post-hospital.The data from the first 2 phases were collected through the registry.The post-hospital data were collected by conducting follow-up assessments.Telephone follow-ups were conducted for groups 1 and 2(non-SCI patients),while group 3(SCI patients)had a face-to-face visit.This study took place during the COVID-19 pandemic.Data on age and time interval from injury to follow-up were expressed as mean±standard deviation(SD)and response rate and follow-up loss as a percentage.Results:Altogether 1538 telephone follow-up records related to 1292 patients were registered in the NSCIR-IR.Of the total calls,918(71.05%)were related to successful follow-ups,but 38 cases died and thus were excluded from data analysis.In the end,post-hospital data from 880 patients alive were gathered.The success rate of follow-ups by telephone for groups 1 and 2 was 73.38%and 67.05%respectively,compared to 66.67%by face-to-face visits for group 3,which was very hard during the COVID-19 pandemic.The data completion rate after discharge ranged from 48%-100%,22%-100%and 29%-100%for groups 1-3.Conclusions:To improve patient accessibility,NSCIR-IR should take measures during data gathering to increase the acc

In this study,the heavy to heavy decay of D^(0)_(s)→D^(*+)D^(-)is evaluated through the factorization approach by using the final state interaction as an effective correction.Under the factorization approach,this decay mode occurs only through the annihilation process,so a small amount is produced.Feynman's rules state that six meson pairs can be assumed for the intermediate states before the final meson pairs are produced.By taking into account the effects of twelve final state interaction diagrams in the calculations,a significant correction is obtained.These effects correct the value of the branching ratio obtained by the pure factorization approach from(2.41±1.37)×10^(-5)to(8.27土2.23)×10^(-5).The value obtained for the branching ratio of the D^(0)_(s)→D^(*+)D^(-)decay is consistent with the experimental results.

This study employs the kinetics framework of Marcus-Hush-Chidsey(MHC)to investigate the charge transfer at the interface of lithium electrode and electrolyte in lithium(ion)-batteries.The chargetransfer rate constant is evaluated for different facets of lithium,namely(100),(110),(101),and(111)as a function of surface charge density with the aid of density functional theory(DFT)calculations.The results highlight and quantify the sensitivity of the rate of lithium plating and stripping to the surface orientation,surface charge density,and charge-transfer over-potential.An intrinsic kinetics competition among the different surface orientations is identified together with an asymmetry between the lithium plating and stripping and showcased to influence the deposit morphology and surface protrusions and indentations.

Miscible injection of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))into oil reservoirs as an Enhanced Oil Recovery(EOR)method has proved to be highly advantageous.According to the volume of the world's recoverable oil resides inside the fractured reservoirs,investigation of the controlling parameters in the efficient injection of miscible CO_(2) is of paramount importance,mainly owing to the intricacies and complexities associated with this process.This complexity in fractured reservoirs arises due to the presence of two distinct media for fluid transfer(i.e.,matrix and fracture network)and the corresponding differences in fluid velocities.Accordingly,performance of miscible carbon dioxide injection in these reservoirs was investigated through mechanistic simulation model in the form of dual-porosity(DP),and dual porosity-dual permeability(DPP).Moreover,due to limited supply and high injection costs of this gas in its pure form,performance of the miscible CO_(2) injection combined with C_(1),N_(2),and H_(2)S was also surveyed and compared to pure gas injection case.A sensitivity analysis was also performed based on fracture porosity,fracture horizontal and vertical permeability,matrix horizontal permeability,block height shape factor,matrix capillary pressure,and impure injected components in DP and DPP models,showing that matrix horizontal permeability and capillary pressure have the greatest,and porosity has the lowest impact on miscibility performance and oil recovery in these models.In the end,after investigating the effect of different injection cases on miscibility performance and oil recovery,it was concluded that the highest oil recovery in miscible gas injection obtained through optimization of a gas composition having the lowest minimum miscibility pressure(MMP)and the lowest density.

Accuracy of the fluid property data plays an absolutely pivotal role in the reservoir computational processes.Reliable data can be obtained through various experimental methods,but these methods are very expensive and time consuming.Alternative methods are numerical models.These methods used measured experimental data to develop a representative model for predicting desired parameters.In this study,to predict saturation pressure,oil formation volume factor,and solution gas oil ratio,several Artificial Intelligent(AI)models were developed.582 reported data sets were used as data bank that covers a wide range of fluid properties.Accuracy and reliability of the model was examined by some statistical parameters such as correlation coefficient(R2),average absolute relative deviation(AARD),and root mean square error(RMSE).The results illustrated good accordance between predicted data and target values.The model was also compared with previous works and developed empirical correlations which indicated that it is more reliable than all compared models and correlations.At the end,relevancy factor was calculated for each input parameters to illustrate the impact of different parameters on the predicted values.Relevancy factor showed that in these models,solution gas oil ratio has greatest impact on both saturation pressure and oil formation volume factor.In the other hand,saturation pressure has greatest effect on solution gas oil ratio.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the anti-bacterial activities of titanium dioxide(Ti O;)nanoparticles of Origanum(O.)vulgare and Hypericum(H.)perforatum extracts,carvacrol and hypericin against Staphylococcus(S.)aureus.METHODS:In this study,Ti O;nanoparticles of O.vulgare and H.perforatum extracts,carvacrol and hypericin,were prepared and their antibacterial effects were evaluated against Staphylococcus(S.)aureus.In this study,scanning electron microscope,fourier transform infrared spectrometer,atomic force microscopy,dynamic light scattering and zeta potential were used to investigate the structure of synthesized drugs.RESULTS:Anti-bacterial activity of synthesized NPs was tested by minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC),minimum bactericidal concentration and disc diffusion method.MICs of Ti O;-NPs synthesized using O.vulgare,H.perforatum,carvacrol and hypericin and Ti O;were obtained 250,62.5,250,and 250,and 500μg/m L,respectively.The MBCs for all of these were obtained 1000μg/m L.CONCLUSION:Green-synthesized of Ti O;nanoparticles provides a promising approach to the use of O.vulgare and H.perforatum,carvacrol and hypericin as novel agents and safer antibacterial compounds,especially anti-S.aureus compounds.
