Isolation and characterization of potential antibiotic producing actinomycetes from water and sediments of Lake Tana,Ethiopia

Objective:To isolate,evaluate and characterize potential antibiotic producing actinomycetes from water and sediments of Lake Tana,***:A total of 31 strains of actinomycetes were isolated and tested against Gram positive and Gram negative bacterial strains by primary *** the primary screening.11 promising isolates were identified and subjected to solid state and submerged state fermentation methods to produce crude *** fermented biomass was extracted by organic solvent extraction method and tested against bacterial strains by disc and agar well diffusion *** isolates were characterized by using morphological,physiological and biochemical ***:The result obtained from agar well diffusion method was belter than disc diffusion *** crude extract showed higher inhibition zone against Gram positive bacteria than Cram negative ***-way analysis of variance confirmed most of the crude extracts were statistically significant at 95%confidence *** minimum inhibitor)concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration of crude extracts were 1.65 mg/mL and 3.30 mg/mL against Staphylococcus aureus,and 1.84 mg/mL and 3.80 mg/mL against Escherichia coli *** growth of aerial and substrate mycelium varied in different culture media *** of the isolates were able to hydrolysis starch and urea:able to survive at 5%concentration of sodium chloride:optimum temperature for their growth was 30°***:The results of the present study revealed that freshwater actinomycetes of Luke Tana appear to have immense potential as a source ol antibacterial compounds.

Precision Agriculture is a concept of farm management which makes use of IoT and networking concepts to improve the *** diseases are one of the underlying causes in the decrease in the number of quantity and quality of the farming *** of diseases from the plant images is an active research topic which makes use of machine learning(ML)approaches.A novel deep neural network(DNN)classification model is proposed for the identification of paddy leaf disease using plant image *** errors were minimized by optimizing weights and biases in the DNN model using a crow search algorithm(CSA)during both the standard pre-training and fine-tuning *** DNN-CSA architecture enables the use of simplistic statistical learning techniques with a decreased computational workload,ensuring high classification *** leaf images were first preprocessed,and the areas indicative of disease were initially extracted using a k-means clustering *** was then applied to eliminate regions not indicative of ***,a set of features were extracted from the previously isolated diseased ***,the classification accuracy and efficiency of the proposed DNN-CSA model were verified experimentally and shown to be superior to a support vector machine with multiple cross-fold validations.

Hybrid Neuro Fuzzy Controller for Automatic Generation Control of Multi Area Deregulated Power System

This paper is intended in investigating the Automatic Generation Control (AGC) problem of a deregulated power system using Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy controller. Here, three area control structure of Hydro-Thermal generation has been considered for different contracted scenarios under diverse operating conditions with non-linearities such as Generation Rate Constraint (GRC) and Backlash. In each control area, the effects of the feasible contracts are treated as a set of new input signals in a modified traditional dynamical model. The key benefit of this strategy is its high insensitivity to large load changes and disturbances in the presence of plant parameter discrepancy and system nonlinearities. This newly developed scheme leads to a flexible controller with a simple structure that is easy to realize and consequently it can be constructive for the real world power system. The results of the proposed controller are evaluated with the Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimisation (HCPSO), Real Coded Genetic Algorithm (RCGA) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) controllers to illustrate its robustness.

Optimum Simultaneous Allocation of Renewable Energy DG and Capacitor Banks in Radial Distribution Network

Nowadays the optimal allocation of distributed generation (DG) in the distribution network becomes the popular research area in restructuring of power system. The capacitor banks introduced in the distribution networks for reactive power compensation also have the capacity to minimize the real and reactive power losses occurred in the system. Hence, this research integrates the allocation of renewable energy DG and capacitor banks in the radial distribution network to minimize the real power loss occurred in the system. A two-stage methodology is used for simultaneous allocation of renewable DG and capacitor banks. The optimum location of renewable energy DG and capacitor banks is determined using the distributed generation sitting index (DGSI) ranking method and the optimum sizing of DG and capacitor banks is found out for simultaneous placement using weight improved particle swarm optimization algorithm (WIPSO) and self adaptive differential evolution algorithm (SADE). This two-stage methodology reduces the burden of SADE and WIPSO algorithm, by using the DGSI index in determining the optimal location. Hence the computational time gets reduced which makes them suitable for online applications. By using the above methodology, a comprehensive performance analysis is done on IEEE 33 bus and 69 bus RDNs and the results are discussed in detail.

Objective:To evaluate immature mosquitocidal properties of Xanthium strumarium plant extracts against Culex mosquitoes at Entomology Laboratory,Maraki Campus,University of ***:The immature mosquitocidal activity of plant extracts was tested by following World Health Organization recommended ***,methanol and water extracts were prepared at 50,100,150,200 and 250 mg/L concentrations and tested against third and fourth instar larvae and pupae of Culex *** mortality rate of immature mosquitoes was recorded after 24,48 and 72 h exposure period ***:Third instar larvae after 24 h exposure period,maximum mortality of 77.80%was recorded at 250 mg/L concentration of acetone *** 48 h and 72 h exposure period,maximum mortality of 88.90%was recorded in acetone extract in all the tested *** maximum mortality of fourth instar larvae was 88.90%in acetone extract at 200 and 250 mg/L *** mortality was also greater in acetone *** percentage of mortality in all the stage of mosquitoes was higher in acetone extract followed by methanol and water ***:The percentage of mortality is associated with concentration of the extracts tested and exposure *** laboratory study confirmed immature mosquitocidal activity of Xanthium strumarium leaf extracts against Culex *** aqueous leaf extract can be used by applying on small man-made breeding places to prevent adult emergence.

Radiation Beam Characterization and Dosimetry of Theratron Equinox-80 Telecobalt Machine Using BEAMnrc Monte Carlo Simulation Code

The BEAMnrc code was used for the simulation of the Theratron Equinox-80 telecobalt machine. The phase space of radiation beam was generated at treatment distance of 80 cm for various field sizes. The phase spaces in air were analyzed by BEAMdp data processing program. The electron energy fluence with respect to photon energy was 0.09% and 0.34% for field size of 05 × 05 and 35 × 35 cm2 respectively and it was maximum at the central axis which gradually decreases beyond this. The profiles for photon fluence were in symmetry for all the fields. The full width at half maximum of profiles in photon energy fluence shows good agreement with the field size. The photon energy fluence was flat till the field size of 27 cm2, after which it decreases gradually till the edge in larger field sizes. The air-kerma output factor from the simulation was in good agreement with measured value. We analyzed the dose data scored in the voxels in a large water phantom by simulation using dosxyznrc code. The percentage depth dose for all field sizes was in good agreement with the BJR supplement 25 and the data supplied by the manufacturer of machine. Significant deviation of about 20% in isodose line near the edge of the profile was observed for 35 × 35 cm2 field size. The penumbra widths of all field sizes were comparable except for 35 × 35 cm2, which has a penumbra width of 4.1 cm at 10 cm depth. The significant under dose near the edge as compared to central axis for larger field sizes may be the indication for its careful use in treatment.

目的探索5α-双氢睾酮(DHT)对成年比格犬心肌细胞中ether-a-go-go-related gene(ERG)钾离子通道的蛋白表达及快速延迟整流钾电流(I)电流密度的影响。方法本研究采用RT-PCR的方法对比格犬心脏组织总RNA中转录异构体(AR)2 mRNA的表达进行检测,以犬雄激素受体基因中AR2特异性的外显子1B序列作为引物来区分两种转录异构体;用Langendorff灌流冠状动脉,以混合酶消化法获得成年比格犬的心肌细胞;以Western blot法检测心肌细胞中ERG钾离子通道的蛋白丰度;以全细胞膜片钳记录心肌细胞及稳定转染HERG基因的中国仓鼠卵巢细胞(CHO-HERG)中的HERG及I电流密度,I定义为10μmol·L西沙必利所阻滞的敏感电流。结果对RT-PCR分析结果测序显示,比格犬心肌组织中表达与人类AR2同源的雄激素受体转录异构体。电生理检测发现,在成年比格犬心肌细胞中,以生理浓度的DHT(10 nmol·L)处理24 h能增加I的电流密度,而DHT对不表达雄激素受体的CHO-HERG细胞中的HERG电流密度没有影响。另外,DHT处理24 h也能增加比格犬心肌细胞中ERG编码的钾离子通道的蛋白丰度。结论 DHT在分离的成年比格犬心肌细胞中增加I的电流密度和ERG编码的钾离子通道的蛋白丰度。这可能为药物源性LQTS发病率的性别差异提供机制上的解释。
