Fast and Accurate Thoracic SPECT Image Reconstruction

In Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography(SPECT),the reconstructed image has insufficient contrast,poor resolution and inaccurate volume of the tumor size due to physical degradation ***,nonstationary filtering of the projection or the slice is one of the strategies for correcting the resolution and therefore improving the quality of the reconstructed SPECT *** paper presents a new 3D algorithm that enhances the quality of reconstructed thoracic SPECT images and reduces the noise level with the best degree of *** suggested algorithm is composed of three *** first one consists of denoising the acquired projections using the benefits of the complementary properties of both the Curvelet transformand theWavelet transforms to provide the best noise *** second step is a simultaneous reconstruction of the axial slices using the 3D Ordered Subset Expectation Maximization(OSEM)*** last step is post-processing of the reconstructed axial slices using one of the newest anisotropic diffusion models named Partial Differential Equation(PDE).The method is tested on two digital phantoms and clinical bone SPECT images.A comparative study with four algorithms reviewed on state of the art proves the significance of the proposed *** simulated data,experimental results show that the plot profile of the proposed model keeps close to the original one compared to the other ***,it presents a notable gain in terms of contrast to noise ratio(CNR)and execution *** proposed model shows better results in the computation of contrast metric with a value of 0.68±7.2 and the highest signal to noise ratio(SNR)with a value of 78.56±6.4 in real *** experimental results prove that the proposed algorithm is more accurate and robust in reconstructing SPECT images than the other *** could be considered a valuable candidate to correct the resolution of bone in the SPECT images.

Thiswork investigates an oblique stagnation point flowof hybrid nanofluid over a rigid surface with power lawfluidas lubricated layers. Copper (Cu) and Silver (Ag) solid particles are used as hybrid particles acting in water H2O asa base fluid. The mathematical formulation of flow configuration is presented in terms of differential systemthat isnonlinear in nature. The thermal aspects of the flow field are also investigated by assuming the surface is a heatedsurface with a constant temperature T. Numerical solutions to the governing mathematical model are calculatedby the RK45 algorithm. The results based on the numerical solution against various flow and thermal controllingparameters are presented in terms of line graphs. The specific results depict that the heat flux increases over thelubricated-indexed parameter.

Vibrational, Electronic and Structural Study of Sprayed ZnO Thin Film Based on the IR-Raman Spectra and DFT Calculations

Applying the Density Function Theory (DFT) combined with LCAO basis set and employing the B3LYP hybrid functional, the optimized geometrical parameters, electronic properties, as well as the Infrared and Raman spectra for wurtzite-ZnO structure were investigated. Prior to computing, ZnO thin film prepared by the spray pyrolysis method is characterized by X-ray diffraction using Rietveld refinement. This analysis shows that ZnO has hexagonal wurtzite structure (P63mc) with lattice parameters, a = 3.2467 and c = 5.2151 Åin good agreement with our predicted optimized geometry. Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Raman spectroscopy and UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometry techniques are used to explore morphological, optical and vibrational properties of the sprayed ZnO thin film. The computed band gap is in excellent agreement with that deduced from UV-Vis transmission . The simulated infrared and Raman spectra were also calculated, and a good agreement with the measured spectra is obtained. Finally, a detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra is reported.

Adult Kidney Cancer in Mauritania: Clinical and Therapeutic Aspects

Introduction: since its creation, our urology department has taken care of tumor pathologies in particular kidney cancer in adults;our goal is to study the clinical and therapeutic epidemiological profiles of adult kidney cancer in Mauritania. Materials and Methods: We carried out a retrospective study over a period of six years, from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2017, including all cases of adult kidney cancer registered in the urology-andrology departments of the Cheikh Zayed Hospital and Pathological Anatomy of the National Hospital of Nouakchott (Mauritania). Results: we collected 50 cases of kidney cancer. The average annual incidence was 8.3 cases. The average age of the patients was 52.98 years with extremes of 18 and 84 years. There was a female predominance (52%) or 29 women for 21 men. Lumbar pain was the most frequent clinical expression, more than half of the patients had symptoms over a period of at least 12 months before the first consultation. The left kidney was the most frequently affected. The right localization was demonstrated in 23 patients, the extension assessment was made with thoraco-abdomino-pelvic CT in 40 patients. Twelve patients had a tumor localized in the kidney. The extension assessment had made it possible to objectify the existence of metastases in 17 of our patients (37%). The preferred locations of these metastases were pulmonary and hepatic. Surgical intervention was performed in 44 patients (88%), of whom 36 underwent radical nephrectomy (72%), and two patients underwent partial nephrectomy (4.5%). Surgical abstention was decided from the outset in 6 patients (13.6%). None of our patients had received treatment with anti-angiogenics. The histological type most observed in our patients was renal cell carcinoma, observed in 34 patients, or 77.72%. At the time of the study, more than a third of the patients had died. This study focuses on the synthesis of nanocomposites named CCA and CZA that were prepared by the incorporation of cellulose(CL)in the Ca/Al and Zn/Al layered double hydroxide(LDH),*** materials were then used for the uptake of As(Ⅲ)and As(V)from aqueous *** of both nanocomposites(CCA and CZA)was done using FTIR and Raman analysis to identify the functional groups,N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms to determine the specific surface area and pore geometry and XPS analysis to obtain the surface atomic *** other characters were investigated using simultaneous TGA and DTA and elemental chemical analysis(CHNS/O).The crystallinity of the prepared nanocomposites was displayed by XRD ***,the sheet-like structure of the LDHs and the irregularity of surface morphology with porous structure were observed by TEM and SEM *** of maximum adsorption capacity was adjusted using different parameters including pH,contact time and adsorbent *** pseudo-second-order model was in good fitting with kinetics *** adsorption isotherm results showed that CZA exhibits better adsorption capacity for As(Ⅲ)than CCA and the Langmuir isotherm model described the data well for both *** studies illustrated the endothermic nature of CCA and exothermic nature on CZA,as well as the fact that the adsorption process is spontaneous.A real water sample collected from well located in Gabes(Tunisia),has also been *** obtained experimental results were confirmed that these sorbents are efficient for the treatment of hazardous toxic species such as.

A series of novel adsorbents composed of cellulose(CL)with Ca/Al layered double hydroxide(CC_(x)A;where x represent the Ca/Al molar ratio)were prepared for the adsorption of antimony(Sb(V))and fluoride(F^(-))ions from aqueous *** CC_(x)A was characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET),elemental analysis(CHNS/O),thermogravimetric analysis(TGA-DTA),zeta potential,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive Xray spectroscopy(SEM-EDX)*** effects of varying parameters such as dose,pH,contact time,temperature and initial concentration on the adsorption process were *** to the obtained results,the adsorption processes were described by a pseudo-second-order kinetic *** adsorption isotherm model provided the best fit for the experimental data and was used to describe isotherm *** maximum adsorption capacity was found to be 77.2 and 63.1 mg/g for Sb(V)and F^(-),respectively by CC_(3)A(experimental conditions:pH 5.5,time 60 min,dose 15 mg/10 mL,temperature 298 K).The CC_(3)A nanocomposite was able to reduce the Sb(V)and F^(-)ions concentration in synthetic solution to lower than 6μg/L and 1.5 mg/L,respectively,which are maximum contaminant levels of these elements in drinking water according to WHO guidelines.

The Influence of Photoperiod on the Regulation of Root and Callus Initiation of Perle Noir (<i>V. vinifera</i>L.): Expression of MADS-Box Gene

To study the influence of photoperiod on roots differentiation in the Tunisian grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) cultivar Perle noir, roots and callus initiation were analyzed under three different conditions of day length: long day (LD), short day (SD) and darkness (D). The photoperiod influenced the number of callus and roots per cuttings;it has a significant effect on the roots and callus initiation. Expression profile analysis of six MADS-box genes (VTM8, VSEP2, VAG12, VAG17-1, VAG17-2 and VSOC1.3) during root and callus development is in agreement with the above-mentioned observation. The expression of the MADS-box genes during root and callus development fluctuated in a tissue-dependent manner. These data suggest that all genes are expressed in roots under three photoperiods. Total darkness gives the number of the most important root per cutting compared to the other two conditions. This photoperiodic condition gave the most important expression of the studied genes VAG12, VAG17-2, VAG17-1, VTM8 and VSEP2 transcripts were not found in callus grown in the dark or in LD conditions, respectively. VSOC1.3 transcripts were not found in callus grown in the dark or in SD conditions, respectively. Transcript abundance of VTM8 and VSOC1 was highest in LD.

Rooting Abilities in <i>Vitis vinifera</i>L.: Total Lipid and Fatty Acids Evolution in Perle Noir Cutting

Rooting ability in Vitis vinifera L. is the phenomena studied. The evolution of the total lipids contents and fatty acids amount of cuttings during the rooting were determined. Total lipid extraction was carried out by an extraction solvent consisting of a mixture of chloroform and methanol. Methylation of fatty acids was carried out by the boron trifluoride methanol complex. Their analysis is performed by gas chromatography. We have obtained a content of merithallus lipids equivalent with then in bibliography. In other hand 3 fatty acids were obtained: eicosapentaenoic acid, oleic acid and docosanoic acid. Among the studied of rooting abilities, we observed decreased levels of total lipids and in the essential fatty acids: eicosapentaenoic acid C20:5 n-3 and oleic acid C18:1 n-9. Minor fatty acids cuttings experimental have a variable evolution. Lipids and certain fatty acids may be markers of rooting in the vine.
