Due to their tiny size,autonomous motion and functionalize modifications,micro/nanomotors have shown great potential for environmental remediation,biomedicine and micro/***-dimensional(1D)micro/nanomotors combine the characteristics of anisotropy and large aspect ratio of 1D materials with the advantages of functionalization and autonomous motion of micro/nanomotors for revolutionary *** this review,we discuss current research progress on 1D micro/nanomotors,including the fabrication methods,driving mechanisms,and recent advances in environmental remediation and biomedical applications,as well as discuss current challenges and possible *** continuous attention and innovation,the advancement of 1D micro/nanomotors will pave the way for the continued development of the micro/nanomotor field.

MoS_(2) is a highly promising material for application in lithium-ion battery anodes due to its high theoretical capacity and low ***,problems with a fast capacity decay over cycling,especially at the first cycles,and poor rate performance have deterred its practical ***,electrodes comprised solely of few-layers 2D MoS_(2) nanosheets have been manufactured by scalable liquid-phase exfoliation and spray deposition *** long-standing controversy questioning the reversibility of conversion processes of MoS_(2)-based electrodes was *** studies revealed that,in 2D MoS_(2) electrodes,conversion processes are indeed reversible,where nanostructure played a key *** of the electrodes at high current rates revealed an intriguing phenomenon consisting of a continuously increasing capacity after ca.100-200 *** phenomenon was comprehensively addressed by a variety of electrochemical and microscopy methods that revealed underlying physical activation mechanisms that involved a range of profound electrode structural *** mechanisms delivered a capacitive electrode of a superior rate performance and cycling stability,as compared to the corresponding pristine electrodes,and to MoS_(2) electrodes previously ***,we have devised a methodology to overcome the problem of cycling stability of 2D MoS_(2) ***,activation of electrodes constitutes a methodology that could be applied to enhance the energy storage performance of electrodes based on other 2D nanomaterials,or combinations thereof,strategically combining chemistries to engineer electrodes of superior energy storage properties.

Disabling hearing loss is the most common sensorineural disability *** affects around 466 million people and its incidence is expected to rise to around 900 million people by 2050,according to World Health Organization *** cases of hearing impairment are due to the degeneration of hair cells(HCs)in the cochlea,mechano-receptors that transduce incoming sound information into electrical signals that are sent to the *** to these cells is mainly caused by exposure to aminoglycoside antibiotics and to some anti-cancer drugs such as cisplatin,loud sounds,age,infections and genetic *** deficits may also result from damage to the spiral ganglion neurons that innervate cochlear *** from what is observed in avian and nonmammalian species,there is no regeneration of missing sensory cell types in the adult mammalian cochlea,what makes hearing loss an irreversible *** review summarizes the research that has been conducted with the aim of developing cell-based strategies that lead to sensory cell replacement in the adult cochlea and,ultimately,to hearing *** main lines of research are discussed,one directed toward the transplantation of exogenous replacement cells into the damaged tissue,and another that aims at reactivating the regenerative potential of putative progenitor cells in the adult inner *** from some of the studies that have been conducted are presented and the advantages and drawbacks of the various approaches discussed.

In this work,we focus on the structural and electronic properties of lanthanum mono-nitride s under high *** on firstprinciples calculations and crystal structure predictions,we identified an anti-ferroelectric orthogonal phase with space group *** is predicted to be thermodynamically stable from 20 to 60 GPa,above which the tetragonal phase without the antiferroelectric distortion will substitute ***,the anti-ferroelectric distortion can be enhancedby reducing the pressure,and a phase transition to a niAs-type(B8,P63/mmc) structure occurs at about 20 *** calculated double-well potential for La atoms along the c direction in the B8 phase reveals that it should exhibit ferroelectric properties at low *** calculations well confirm their phase transition sequences under high *** properties calculations suggest that all the newly identified phases are semiconductors and the corresponding structural distortions can increase their *** increasing the pressure to 50 GPa,the tetragonal phase undergoes a semiconductor-to-semimetal *** the spin-orbit coupling into account,the semimetal phase becomes a topological insulator with a small ***,given the similarities between the ionic compounds Lan and BaO,we predict that the most stable phase for BaO at about 25 GPa should also be the anti-ferroelectric orthogonal phase instead of the tetragonal phase.

The ancestral cultures have described many therapeutic properties of garlic,therefore,it is of central interest to elucidate the molecular basis explaining this millenary empirical ***,it has been demonstrated a neuroprotective effect of allicin–a phytochemical present in garlic-linked to oxidative-inflammatory *** improved neuronal injury by heat shock protein 70(Hsp70)and inducible nitric oxide synthase(inOS)***,allicin exerts renal protection involving a possible angiotensin type 1 receptor(AT1)*** connection,AT1 overexpression has been recognized as a central deleterious factor in many brain ***,there are no studies that evaluate AT1-Hsp70-inOS interaction as a mechanism linked to ***,our central aim is to evaluate if the allicin protective effect is associated with an AT1-Hsp70-inOS counterbalance *** this study,a murine microglial cell line(BV-2)was injured with lipopolysaccharides and treated or not with ***,it was evaluated cell viability,proinflammatory cytokine levels,cellular oxidative stress,inOS,Hsp70,and AT1 protein expression(cellular and mitochondrial fractions),nitrite levels,and protein-protein *** results demonstrated that allicin could prevent neuronal injury due to a reduction in oxidative stress and inflammatory status mediated by an AT1-Hsp70-inOS counterbalance axis linked to direct protein-protein interaction.

Anemia is the most common complication of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Control and inadequate treatment leads to a worse quality of life and increased morbidity and hospitalization. Blood loss, and to a lesser extent, malabsorption of iron are the main causes of iron def iciency in IBD. There is also a variable component of anemia related to chronic inflammation. The anemia of chronic renal failure has been treated for many years with recombinant human erythropoietin (rHuEPO), which significantly improves quality of life and survival. Subsequently, rHuEPO has been used progressively in other conditions that occur with anemia of chronic processes such as cancer, rheumatoid arthritis or IBD, and anemia associated with the treatment of hepatitis C virus. Erythropoietic agents complete the range of available therapeutic options for treatment of anemia associated with IBD, which begins by treating the basis of the inflammatory disease, along with intravenous iron therapy as f irst choice. In cases of resistance to treatment with iron, combined therapy with erythropoietic agents aims to achieve near-normal levels of hemoglobin/hematocrit (11-12 g/dL). new formulations of intravenous iron (iron carboxymaltose) and the new generation of erythropoietic agents (darbepoetin and continuous erythropoietin receptor activator) will allow better dosing with the same eff icacy and safety.

Hematopoietic tumors are associated with diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and a poor prognosis. Furthermore, their pathophysiology in dogs is not well understood. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia has been rarely reported in golden retrievers, perhaps due to difficulties in diagnosis and care. An 8-year-old spayed female golden retriever was referred to our hospital with a 2-month history of fatigue, weakness, and selective appetite. The dog was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia based on blood smear evaluation. Despite treatment, the dog deteriorated and the owners opted for euthanasia. Histopathological examination revealed atypical lymphocytes in the spleen, extramedullary hematopoiesis in the spleen and liver, bone marrow depletion, moderate neutrophilic myocarditis, and acute renal tubular necrosis. In an immunohistochemical panel, cells in the spleen and bone marrow were positive for anti-CD20, anti-CD45, anti-CD3, anti-IBA-1, anti-Ki67, anti-MUM-1, and anti-PAX-5. In conclusion, the leukemia diagnosis was confirmed through reactive histiocytosis, marked extramedullary hematopoiesis, and other clinical and laboratory findings. Herein, we report a case of chronic lymphocytic leukemia in a female dog with clinical, laboratory, and necroscopy findings.
