Neuropathic pain is a severe and chronic condition widely found in the general *** reason for this is the extensive variety of damage or diseases that can spark this unpleasant constant feeling in *** the processing of pain,the dorsal root ganglia constitute an important region where dorsal root ganglion neurons play a crucial role in the transmission and propagation of sensory electrical ***,the dorsal root ganglia have recently exhibited a regenerative capacity that should not be neglected in the understanding of the development and resolution of neuropathic pain and in the elucidation of innovative ***,we will review the complex interplay between cells(satellite glial cells and inflammatory cells)and factors(cytokines,neurotrophic factors and genetic factors)that takes place within the dorsal root ganglia and accounts for the generation of the aberrant excitation of primary sensory neurons occurring in neuropathic *** importantly,we will summarize an updated view of the current pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic therapies targeting the dorsal root ganglia for the treatment of neuropathic pain.

Although many causes of Alzheimer’s disease(Ad)may exist,both the original amyloid cascade and tau hypotheses posit that abnormal misfolding and accumulation of amyloid-β(Aβ)and tau protein is the central event causing the ***,that conclusion could be only partly true,and there is conflicting evidence about the role of both proteins in Ad,being able to precede and influence one *** researchers argue that these proteins are mere executors rather than primary causes of ***,there have been continuing refinements of both hypotheses,with alternative explanations proposed.Aβand tau proteins may be independently involved in specific neurotoxic pathways;yet there may be other crucial processes going on in early ***,accumulating evidence suggests that Aβand tau act synergistically,rather than additively in disease onset(Jeremic et al.,2021,2023a).

Inflammatory pseudotumor(IPT) of the spleen is an uncommon entity with an uncertain aetiology. Inflammatory pseudotumors present diagnostic difficulties because the clinical and radiological findings tend to suggest a malignancy. The symptoms include weight loss, fever, and abdominal pain. Most cases of splenic IPT present solitary relatively large well circumscribed masses on imaging. The diagnosis in the majority of the cases is made after histopathologic study of splenectomy specimens. The IPTs that occur in the spleen and liver are typically associated with Epstein-Barr virus. Thirtyseven percent of all new cases of active tuberculosis infection are extrapulmonary tuberculosis and tuberculous lymphadenitis the most commonly occurring form of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. We report the case of an inflammatory pseudotumor of the spleen associated with splenic tuberculous lymphadenitis in a 50-year-old female patient who was preoperatively diagnosed with a malignant spleen tumour based on her history of breast of carcinoma.

AIM: To determine the clinical reasons for conversion to everolimus(EVL) and long-term outcomes in heart transplant(HT) ***: A retrospective 12-mo study has been carried out in 14 Spanish centres to assess the efficacy and safety of conversion to EVL in maintenance HT ***: Two hundred and twenty-two patients were included(mean age: 53 ± 10.5 years; mean time from HT: 8.1 ± 4.5 years). The most common reasons for conversion were nephrotoxicity(30%), chronic allograft vasculopathy(20%) and neoplasms(17%). The doses and mean levels of EVL at baseline(conversion to EVL) and after one year were 1.3 ± 0.3 and 1.2 ± 0.6 mg/d and 6.4 ± 3.4 and 5.6 ± 2.5 ng/mL, respectively. The percentage of patients receiving calcineurin inhibitors(CNIs) at baseline and on the final visit was 95% and 65%, respectively. The doses and mean levels of CNIs decreased between baseline and month 12 from 142.2 ± 51.6 to 98.0 ± 39.4 mg/d(P d from 126.1 ± 50.9 to 89.2 ± 47.7 ng/mL(P d from 2.9 ± 1.8 to 2.6 ± 1.9 mg/d and from 8.3 ± 4.0 to 6.5 ± 2.7 ng/mL(P = 0.011) for tacrolimus. In the subgroup of patients converted because of nephrotoxicity, creatinine clearance increased from 34.9 ± 10.1 to 40.4 ± 14.4 mL/min(P des of acute rejection in 24 patients(11%). The most frequent adverse events were oedemas(12%), infections(9%) and gastrointestinal problems(6%). EVL was suspended in 44 patients(20%). Since the database was closed at the end of the study, no further followup data is ***: Conversion to EVL in maintenance HT recipients allowed minimisation or suspension of the CNIs, with improved kidney function in the patients with nephrotoxicity, after 12 mo.

Fluoropyrimidines play a central role in the first-line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer. Our aim was to review whether capecitabine was a safer, non-inferior, economically superior and more convenient alternative to 5-fluorouracil. Capecitabine has previously been compared to 5-fluorouracil-either as a monotherapy or in combination with oxaliplatin, irinotecan, or biological drugs-and has been found to have comparable efficacy and safety profiles. Furthermore, pharmacoeconomic data and patients’ preferences for oral chemotherapy further favor capecitabine. Therefore, capecitabine appears to be an effective and safe alternative to fluorouracil in the first-line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.

Within the Excited Baryon Analysis Center we have performed a dynamical coupled-channels analysis of the available p（e,e＇π）N data in the region of W ≤ 1.6 GeV and Q2 ≤1.45 （GeV/c）2. The channels included are γ＊N, π＊N, ηN, and ηN which has π△, pN, and σN components. With the hadronic parameters of the model determined in our previous investigations of πN→ πN reaction, we have found that the available data in the considered W ≤ 1.6 GeV region can be fitted well by only adjusting the bare γ＊N → N＊ helicity amplitudes for the lowest N＊ states in P33, P11, S11 and d13 partial waves. The meson cloud effect, as required by the unitarity conditions, on the γ＊N → N＊ form factors are examined.

The developable surface is an important surface in computer aided design, geometric modeling and industrial manufactory. It is often given in the standard parametric form, but it can also be in the implicit form which is commonly used in algebraic geometry. Not all algebraic developable surfaces have rational parametrizations. In this paper, the authors focus on the rational developable surfaces. For a given algebraic surface, the authors first determine whether it is developable by geometric inspection, and then give a rational proper parametrization in the affrmative case. For a rational parametric surface, the authors also determine the developability and give a proper reparametrization for the developable surface.
