The decomposition and CO2 reforming of methane,respectively,are promising alternatives to industrial steam methane reforming. In recent years,research has been focused on the development of catalysts that can operate without getting deactivated by carbon deposition,where,in particular,carbon catalysts have shown positive results. In this work,the role of carbon materials in heterogeneous catalysis is assessed and publications on methane decomposition and CO2 reforming of methane over carbon materials are reviewed. The influence of textural properties(BET surface area and micropore volume,etc.) and oxygen surface groups on the catalytic activity of carbon materials are discussed. In addition,this review examines how activated carbon and carbon black catalysts,which are the most commonly used carbon catalysts,are deactivated. Characteristics of the carbon deposits from methane are discussed and the influence of the reactivity to CO2 of fresh carbon and carbonaceous deposits for high and steady conversion during CO2 reforming of CH4 are also considered.

Trypanosoma cruzi(T. cruzi), the etiological agent of Chagas disease, affects nearly 18 million people in Latin America and 90 million are at risk of infection. The parasite presents two stages of medical importance in the host, the amastigote, intracellular replicating form, and the extracellular trypomastigote, the infective form. Thus infection by T. cruzi induces a complex immune response that involves effectors and regulatory mechanisms. That is why control of the infection requires a strong humoral and cellular immune response; hence, the outcome of host-parasite interaction in the early stages of infection is extremely important. A critical event during this period of the infection is innate immune response, in which the macrophage's role is vital. Thus, after being phagocytized, the parasite is able to develop intracellularly; however, during later periods, these cells induce its elimination by means of toxic metabolites. In turn, as the infection progresses, adaptive immune response mechanisms are triggered through the TH1 and TH2 responses. Finally, T. cruzi, like other protozoa such as Leishmania and Toxoplasma, have numerous evasive mechanisms to the immune response that make it possible to spread around the host. In our Laboratory we have developed a vaccination model in mice with Trypanosoma rangeli, nonpathogenic to humans, which modulates the immune response to infection by T. cruzi, thus protecting them. Vaccinated animals showed an important innate response(modulation of NO and other metabolites, cytokines, activation of macrophages), a strong adaptive cellular response and significant increase in specific antibodies. The modulation caused early elimination of the parasites, low parasitaemia, the absence of histological lesions and high survival rates. An important characteristic of fractured rocks is their high seismic attenuation, which so far has been mainly attributed to wave-induced fluid flow（WIFF） between the fractures and the embedding matrix. The influence of fracture connectivity on seismic attenuation has, however, recently, only been investigated. Numerical compressibility and shear tests based on Biot＇s quasi-static poro-elastic equations illustrate that an important manifestation of WIFF arises in the presence of fracture connectivity. The corresponding energy loss, which can be significant for both P- and S-waves, is mainly due to fluid flow within the connected fractures and is sensitive to the permeabilities as well as the lengths and intersection angles of the fractures. Correspondingly, this phenomenon contains valuable information on the governing hydraulic properties of fractured rocks and hence should be accounted for whenever realistic seismic models of such media are needed.

This paper is focused on the analysis, in the framework of lattice theory, of the matchings obtained from restabilization (after disruption) of stable matchings. When the disruption is due to entry workers or closure of firms the unemployed workers make offers to firms. The stable matching obtained is the firms-worst stable matching of the set of stable matchings that the firms weakly prefer to the initial stable matching (i.e., before being disrupted by changes in the population). More precisely, their position within the lattice of stable matchings is shown.

We present a new procedure for protecting micro-optical fibers(tapered fibers)by using the 3-dimensional(3D)printing technology.A standard single-mode optical fiber was tapered down to the diameter of 1mm and embedded in a polymeric matrix obtained by an additive manufacturing *** show that the proposed structure protects the fiber taper against environmental humidity while keeping permeability to gas flow and the possibility of the realization of gas detection *** our knowledge,this is the first time 3D printed casings were applied to protect fiber tapers from humidity *** envisage this new approach will allow the development of new fiber taper devices to better resist in humid environments.

A simple and fast capillary electrophoresis method has been developed to determine the amount of piroxicam loaded in a drug delivery system based on nanostructured lipid carriers（NLCs）.The entrapment efficiency of the nanostructured lipid carrier was estimated by measuring the concentration of drug not entrapped in a suspension of *** influence of different parameters on migration times,peak symmetry,efficiency and resolution was studied;these parameters included the pH of the electrophoretic buffer solution and the applied *** piroxicam peak was obtained with a satisfactory *** separation was carried out using a running buffer composed of 50 mM ammonium acetate and 13.75 mM ammonia at pH *** optimal voltage was 20 kV and the cartridge temperature was 20 ℃.The corresponding calibration curve was linear over the range of 2.7-5.4 μg/mL of NLC *** reproducibility of migration time and peak area were investigated,and the obtained RSD%values（n = 5） were 0.99 and ***.

The crystallographic structure of CdSe nanoparticles attached to carbon nanotubes has been elucidated by means of high resolution transmission electron microscopy and high angle annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy *** rod-like nanoparticles,grown in solution together with carbon nanotubes,undergo a morphological transformation and become attached to the carbon *** tomography reveals that the nanoparticles are hexagonal-based with the(001)planes epitaxially matched to the outer graphene layer.

Dear Editor The NAC （for NO APICAL MERISTEM [NAM], Arabidopsis TRANSCRII^TION ACTIVATOR FACTOR [ATAF] and CUP- SHAPED COTYLEDON [CUC]） proteins are one of the largest families of plant-specific transcription factors （Nagata et aL, 2015）. They are involved in many different biological processes including development and the response to biotic and abiotic stresses. To date, NAC transcription factors have only been identified in land plants （Zhu et al., 2012; Nagata et al., 2015）; and some of them control land-plant-specific processes, such as the formation of specialized water-conducting systems （Xu et al., 2014）. Therefore, it has been suggested that their appearance accompanied the emergence of land plants. Here, we exploited the transcriptomic data generated within the 1000 plants project （***, Wickett et al., 2014） to revisit the origin of NAC proteins. Our careful analysis shows that NAC transcription factors appeared before the ernergence of land plants as we detected their homologs in several groups of streptophyte green algae. The possible significance of this finding is discussed.

We consider linear partial differential equations of first order on a region . We will see that we can write the equation in partial derivatives as an Fredholm integral equation of the first kind and will solve this latter with the techniques of inverse problem moments. We will find an approximated solution and bounds for the error of the estimated solution using the techniques on problem of moments.
