Relationship between Vegetation Height and Species Richness of Birds in Some Wetlands of Sinnar State, Sudan

Objectives of this study were to: identify the relationship between vegetationhigheit and birds’ species at various wetlands of Sinnar State;This study was conducted in Sinnar state, central Sudan (Latitudes 05º -12º to 05º -14º N and longitudes 32.9º - 35.4º E), covering 12 wetlands(mayas) during the wet and the dry season duration 2011 - 2013;thewetlands are Ronga, Allahmaana, Gladeem, Elban, Rahad Kobri 45,Lawni, Kinnaf Tura 5, Rigaba, Shamiya, Wad elggack, Homrani andSinnar Dam reservoir. The study focused on abundance of herbaceousvegetation, Parameters of herbaceous vegetation were determined at50-m intervals along line transects;these parameters were plant countsand vegetation height in a 1-m circular quadrat. Birds were countedtwice a day (morning and evening) in all wetlands with the help of telescopesand binoculars, and species utilizing each site of the wetlandsare identified. Excel programme was used for data analysis. Vegetationheight is negatively correlated with birds’ species richness in wet seasonsof 2011 - 2012 and 2012 - 2013, positively correlated in the dryseason when herbaceous vegetation is tall, but negatively correlatedwhen it is short.

AIM: To evaluate the indication and outcome of hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related liver transplantation(LT) in the era of newer antiviral ***: We collected data on all patients who underwent transplantation at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research *** data included demographic,perioperative and long-term postoperative follow-up data including viral serological markers,HBV DNA,and repeated liver *** January 1990 and January 2012,133 patients(106 males and 27 females) underwent LT for HBV-related cirrhosis at our *** patients were followed up frequently during the first year following transplantation,according to our standard protocol; follow-up visits occurred every 3-6 mo *** infection was definedas re-emergence of HBV-DNA or hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag) while on *** patients transplanted prior to 1992 did not receive immediate posttransplant anti-HBV prophylaxis; all other patients were treated with HBIG and at least one nucleos(t)ide ***: One hundred and thirty-three patients underwent LT for HBV and were followed for a median of 82 mo(range: 1-274).The rates of post-LT survival and HBV recurrence during the follow-up period were 89% and 11%,*** following factors were associated with disease recurrence: younger age(44.3 ± 16.2 years vs 51.4 ± 9.9 years,P = 0.02),positive pretransplant hepatitis B e antigen(HBe Ag)(60% vs 14%,P < 0.0001),detectable pretransplant HBV DNA(60% vs 27%,P = 0.03),positive posttransplant HBs Ag(80% vs 4%,P < 0.0001) and positive posttransplant HBe Ag(27% vs 1%,P < 0.0001).Forty-four(33%) patients had hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).In the first(pre-2007) group,HBV was the second leading indication for LT after hepatitis C virus infection.A total of 64 transplants were performed,including 46(72%) for decompensated HBV cirrhosis,12(19%) for decompensated cirrhosis complicated by HCC and 6(10%) for compensated cirrhosis complicated by ***

Background: Most community and hospital acquired infections are due to Staphylococcus aureus, these infections involve both local suppurative and systemic conditions. There is an increase in the incidence rates of acquiring resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus in hospitals and community in Sudan. This study aims to detect frequency of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from surgical-sites infections (SSIs) and traumatic wounds, and to determine susceptibility to commonly used drugs. Methods: Prospective cross-sectional laboratory based study was followed, 250 patients admitted to Surgery Departments at Wad Madani Teaching Hospitals during 2019 and 2020 were recruited;with clinical manifestation of SSIs and or/traumatic wounds. Swab sample was taken from each participant and incubated aerobically on mannitol salt agar. Biochemical tests and 16rRNA gene used for Staphylococcus aureus identification. Antimicrobial susceptibility was accomplished using Kirby Bauer disc diffusion technique. 目的 :通过比较5种方法去除牙面残余正畸粘接剂对牙面的影响及操作所用时间,为筛选最佳去牙面粘接树脂方法提供参考。方法:选用正畸治疗需要拔除的健康前磨牙40颗,按不同的去牙面粘接剂方法随机分为5组,每组8颗。在常规粘接托接槽并去粘接后,分别用碳化钨钻(A组)、碳化钨钻+矽粒子(B组)、金刚砂钻(C组)、金刚砂钻+矽粒子(D组)、矽粒子(E组)做牙面处理,记录各组操作时间(T),并在扫描电镜(SEM)下观察、照相,记录釉质损伤指数(enamel damage index)。采用SPSS20.0软件包对操作时间T及EDI分别进行单因素方差分析及非参数秩变换分析。结果:各组EDI排序为C组>D组>A组>B组>E组,差异具有统计学意义(PD组>B组>A组>C组,差异具有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论 :用高速碳化钨钻加矽粒子去除残余粘接剂对釉质损伤较小且操作时间合理,值得临床推荐。

Objective:The present study aimed to address the care of psychiatric patients and its impact on nurses’behavior in Saudi ***:A cross-sectional quantitative questionnaire-based study was *** study was carried out in various government hospitals across different regions of Saudi ***:A total of 73 nurses participated in the study,with male nurses comprising the majority(61.6%)compared to *** a young nurse or with few years of work experience is linked with more predilection towards preventive behaviour and/or physical activity.A significant mean difference was observed,indicating higher scores for preventive behavior among females(female 14.93±5.82 *** 11.56±5.48,P=0.015).The Bonferroni post hoc multiple comparisons did not reveal any statistical significance for single ***(P=0.618),single ***(P=0.223),and married ***(P=0.020).Conclusion:The study results demonstrated a significant impact of caring for psychiatric patients on nurses’*** is concerning because psychological and mental health strain has been shown to contribute to unhealthy lifestyle habits,such as physical inactivity and sleep deprivation,which,in turn,can contribute to the increasing incidence and prevalence of chronic *** interventions targeting psychiatric and mental health nurses should be designed and examined to emphasize the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and an active lifestyle.
