Integrated Use of Organic and Bio-fertilizers to Improve Yield and Fruit Quality of Olives Grown in Low Fertility Sandy Soil in an Arid Environment

Olive productivity should be improved through stimulating nutrition,particularly under poor fertility ***,the objective of this study was to assess the efficacy of applying organic and bio-fertilizers on the physiological growth,yield and fruit quality of olive trees under newly reclaimed poor-fertility sandy soil in an arid *** a field experiment carried out at El-Qantara,North Sinai,Egypt over two consecutive seasons(2019-2020 and 2020-2021),olive Kalamata trees were evaluated under three organic fertilizer treatments alone or in combination with three bio-fertilizers *** fertilizer was applied as goat manure(16.8 kg/tree/year),or olive pomace(8.5 kg/tree/year)in mid-December of each season *** *** bio-fertilizers were applied as N-fixing bacteria(150 g/tree)was inculated in early march of each season,or amino acid mixture(1.5%)was applied three times,at 70%of full bloom,21 days after full bloom,and a month later in comparison to a non-fertilized trees(control).The cultivar used was Kalamata,a dual-purpose cultivar for oil and table olives whose value increases when processed as table *** results indicated that the goat manure followed by olive pomace significantly enhanced photosynthetic pigments(chlorophyll a,b,and carotenoids),leaf mineral contents(N,P,K,Ca,mg and Fe),tree canopy volume,number of flowers per inflorescence,number of inflorescences per shoot,initial fruit set,fruit *** fruit quality,fruit length and width,fruit weight,and total fruit yield was increased compared to the non-fertilized ***,The bio-fertilizer N-fixing bacteria followed by the amino acid mixture significantly improved all of the aforementioned ***,it is recommended,both environmentally and economically to utilize organic and bio-fertizers,particularly goat manure combined with N-fixing bacteria,in low-fertility soil to sustain olive production as well as reducing mineral ferti

This study is based on the modification and development of a two-liter plastic container blow molding machine into a five-liter one provided with a translucent view stripe. This study considers some objectives including reducing the total cost, increasing the amount of plastic recovery, and raising the desired plastic materials. Proper designs were prepared and directly applied on spot. Tangible results were obtained. Among others, the modification of some components of the machine, e.g. the extruder, has led to the possible reuse of the milled (recovery) and extra material from the manufacturing processes. That was also conducive to an effective reduction in the cost of production to 50% in some cases. Prior to its modification, this old machine was used to produce polyvinyl chloride (PVC) containers that have become prohibited these days for their damaging effect on man’s life. For now, and after modification, it has become possible to use High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) material, a fact that has improved labor conditions, too.

Insulinomas continue to pose a diagnostic challenge to physicians, surgeons and radiologists alike. most are intrapancreatic, benign and solitary. Biochemical diagnosis is obtained and imaging techniques to localize lesions continue to evolve. Surgical resection is the treatment of choice. Despite all efforts, an occult insulinoma (occult insulinoma refers to a biochemically proven tumor with indeterminate anatomical site before operation) may still be encountered. New localization preoperative techniques decreases occult cases and the knowledge of the site of the mass before surgery allows to determine whether enucleation of the tumor or pancreatic resection is likely to be required and whether the tumor is amenable to removal via a laparoscopic approach. In absence of preoperative localization and intraoperative detection of an insulinoma, blind pancreatic resection is not recommended.

Eosinophilic colitis (EC) is a rare form of primary eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease with a bimodal peak of prevalence in neonates and young adults. EC remains a little understood condition in contrast to the increasingly recognized eosinophilic esophagitis. Clinical presentation of EC is highly variable according to mucosal, transmural, or serosal predominance of inflammation. EC has a broad differential diagnosis because colon tissue eosinophilia often occurs in parasitic infection, drug-induced allergic reactions, inflammatory bowel disease, and various connective tissue disorders, which require thorough searching for secondary causes that may be specifically treated with antibiotics or dietary and drug elimination. Like eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease involving other segments of the gastrointestinal tract, EC responds very well to steroids that may be spared by using antihistamines, leukotriene inhibitors and biologics.

Thin films Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)(BLT) were deposited using electron beam evaporation on silicon substrate at several times,also on alN/Si and SiO_(2)/Si *** films morphology and thickness were measured via scanning electron microscopy(SEm).The crystallography was studied using X-ray diffraction(XRD) technique for films which have a(0010) preferred orientation in all substrate *** capacitance values were contingent on frequency value in C-V *** ferroelectric characterization was investigated for BLT film deposited on isolator layer(SiO_(2) or alN) for al/Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)/SiO_(2)/Si *** effect value varied from 1 V to 3 V depending on the thin films isolator on substrate.

The origin of the hyper saline groundwater in aquifers all over the world is still unclear till today. The current paper is an attempt to interpret a possible origin of the hyper salinity in the groundwater of the Wasia-Biyadh Aquifer system in Saudi Arabia. The result indicated that the major factors contributing salinity to groundwater are silicate weathering and evaporite dissolution/and or evaporation, as indicated by the Na+-normalized Ca2+ VS HCO3-plot. However, some groundwater samples showed hyper salinity that had been attributed to the presence of a naturally-occurring-hydrothermal system, due to the high concentration of the radionuclides within the aquifer. The high-salinity samples (Na-Cl type) plot under the evaporation line on the Na+/Cl- vs. Cl- relationship, suggesting deep heating that resulted in hyper salinity. The geochemical reactions in the eastern part of the aquifer included the precipitation of pyrite, dolomite, clay, and the incongruent dissolution of plagioclase.

The United Arab Emirates lacks conventional water resources and relies primarily on desalination plants powered by fossil fuels to produce fresh *** desalination is a proven technology,cost-competitive,and sustainable option capable of integrating the existing largescale desalination plants to produce both freshwater and ***,Small modular Reactors(SmRs)are promising designs with advanced simplified configurations and inherent safety *** this study,an Integrated Desalination SmR that produces thermal energy compatible with the capacity of a fossil fuel-powered desalination plant in the UAE was ***,the APR-1400 reactor core was used to investigate two 150 mWthconceptual SmR core designs,core A and core B,based on two-dimensional parameters,radius,and ***,the CASmO-4 lattice code was used to generate homogenized few-group constants for optimized fuel assembly loading ***,to find the best core configuration,SImULATE-3 was used to calculate the core key physics parameters such as power distribution,reactivity coefficients,and critical boron *** addition,different reflector materials were investigated to compensate for the expected high leakage of the small-sized SmR *** pan shape core B model(142.6132 cm diameter,100 cm height,and radially reflected by Stainless Steel)was selected as the best core configuration based on its calculated physics *** B met the design and safety criteria and indicated low total neutron leakage of 11.60%and flat power distribution with 1.50 power peaking *** to core A,it has a more negative mTC value of-6.93 pcm/°F with lower *** a 2-batch scheme,the fuel is discharged at 42.25 GWd/mTU burnup after a long cycle length of 1.58 *** core B model offers the highest specific power of 36.56 kW/kgU while utilizing the smallest heavy metal mass compared with the SmART and NuScale models.

Acute mesenteric ischemia (AmI) is a highly-lethal surgical emergency. Several pathophysiologic events (arterial obstruction, venous thrombosis and diffuse vasospasm) lead to a sudden decrease in mesenteric blood flow. Ischemia/reperfusion syndrome of the intestine is responsible for systemic abnormalities, leading to multi-organ failure and death. Early diagnosis is difficult because the clinical presentation is subtle, and the biological and radiological diagnostic tools lack sensitivity and specificity. Therapeutic options vary from conservative resuscitation, medical treatment, endovascular techniques and surgical resection and revascularization. A high index of suspicion is required for diagnosis, and prompt treatment is the only hope of reducing the mortality rate. Studies are in progress to provide more accurate diagnostic tools for early diagnosis. AmI can complicate the post-operative course of patients following cardio-pulmonary bypass (CPB). Several factors contribute to the systemic hypo-perfusion state, which is the most frequent pathophysiologic event. In this particular setting, the clinical presentation of AmI can be misleading, while the laboratory and radiological diagnostic tests often produce inconclusive results. The management strategies are controversial, but early treatment is critical for saving lives. Based on the experience of our team, we consider prompt exploratory laparotomy, irrespective of the results of the diagnostic tests, isthe only way to provide objective assessment and adequate treatment, leading to dramatic reduction in the mortality rate.
