Evolutionary neural network(ENN)shows high performance in function optimization and in finding approximately global optima from searching large and complex *** is one of the most efficient and adaptive optimization techniques used widely to provide candidate solutions that lead to the fitness of the *** has the extraordinary ability to search the global and learning the approximate optimal solution regardless of the gradient information of the error ***,ENN requires high computation and processing which requires parallel processing platforms such as field programmable gate arrays(fPGAs)and graphic processing units(GPUs)to achieve a good *** work involves different new implementations of ENN by exploring and adopting different techniques and opportunities for parallel *** versions of ENN algorithm have also been implemented and parallelized on fPGAs platform for low latency by exploiting the parallelism and pipelining *** data form mass spectrometry data(MSD)application was tested to examine and verify our *** is a very important and extensive computation application which needs to search and find the optimal features(peaks)in MSD in order to distinguish cancer patients from control *** algorithm is also implemented and parallelized on single core and GPU platforms for comparison *** computation time of our optimized algorithm on fPGA and GPU has been improved by a factor of 6.75 and 6,respectively.

Thin films Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)(BLT) were deposited using electron beam evaporation on silicon substrate at several times,also on alN/Si and SiO_(2)/Si *** films morphology and thickness were measured via scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The crystallography was studied using X-ray diffraction(XRD) technique for films which have a(0010) preferred orientation in all substrate *** capacitance values were contingent on frequency value in C-V *** ferroelectric characterization was investigated for BLT film deposited on isolator layer(SiO_(2) or alN) for al/Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)/SiO_(2)/Si *** effect value varied from 1 V to 3 V depending on the thin films isolator on substrate.

fracture system is an important factor controlling tight oil accumulation in the Triassic Chang 8 Member,southwestern Ordos Basin,China.A systematic characterization of the multi-scale natural fractures is a basis for the efficient tight oil *** on outcrops,seismic reflections,well cores,well logs(image and conventional logging),casting thin sections,and scanning electron microscope observation,the multi-scale fractures occurrences and their influences on Chang 8 tight sandstone reservoirs are *** results show that three periods of strike-slip faults and four scales of natural fractures developed,namely mega-scale(length>7×10^(7) mm),macro-scale(3.5×10^(5)ale(10ale(lengthale fractures developed by strike-slip faults are characterized by strike-segmentation and lateral zonation,which connect the source and *** scale fractures also influence the distribution and effectiveness of traps and reservoirs,which directly influence the hydrocarbon charging and *** meso fractures include the tectonic,diagenetic,as well as hydrocarbon generation-related overpressure *** meso-and micro-scale fractures improve the sandstone physical properties and also the tight oil well production *** integrated study helps to understand the distribution of multi-scale fractures in tight sandstones and provides a referable case and workflow for multi-scale fracture evaluation.

The United Arab Emirates lacks conventional water resources and relies primarily on desalination plants powered by fossil fuels to produce fresh *** desalination is a proven technology,cost-competitive,and sustainable option capable of integrating the existing largescale desalination plants to produce both freshwater and ***,Small Modular Reactors(SMRs)are promising designs with advanced simplified configurations and inherent safety *** this study,an Integrated Desalination SMR that produces thermal energy compatible with the capacity of a fossil fuel-powered desalination plant in the UAE was ***,the APR-1400 reactor core was used to investigate two 150 MWthconceptual SMR core designs,core A and core B,based on two-dimensional parameters,radius,and ***,the CASMO-4 lattice code was used to generate homogenized few-group constants for optimized fuel assembly loading ***,to find the best core configuration,SIMULATE-3 was used to calculate the core key physics parameters such as power distribution,reactivity coefficients,and critical boron *** addition,different reflector materials were investigated to compensate for the expected high leakage of the small-sized SMR *** pan shape core B model(142.6132 cm diameter,100 cm height,and radially reflected by Stainless Steel)was selected as the best core configuration based on its calculated physics *** B met the design and safety criteria and indicated low total neutron leakage of 11.60%and flat power distribution with 1.50 power peaking *** to core A,it has a more negative MTC value of-6.93 pcm/°f with lower *** a 2-batch scheme,the fuel is discharged at 42.25 GWd/MTU burnup after a long cycle length of 1.58 *** core B model offers the highest specific power of 36.56 kW/kgU while utilizing the smallest heavy metal mass compared with the SMART and NuScale models.

Recent technological advancements have been used to improve the quality of living in smart *** the same time,automated detection of vehicles can be utilized to reduce crime rate and improve public *** the other hand,the automatic identification of vehicle license plate(LP)character becomes an essential process to recognize vehicles in real time scenarios,which can be achieved by the exploitation of optimal deep learning(DL)*** this article,a novel hybrid metaheuristic optimization based deep learning model for automated license plate character recognition(HMODL-alPCR)technique has been presented for smart city *** major intention of the HMODL-alPCR technique is to detect LPs and recognize the characters that exist in *** effective LP detection process,mask regional convolutional neural network(Mask-RCNN)model is applied and the Inception with Residual Network(ResNet)-v2 as the baseline *** addition,hybrid sunflower optimization with butterfly optimization algorithm(HSfO-BOA)is utilized for the hyperparameter tuning of the Inception-ResNetv2 ***,Tesseract based character recognition model is applied to effectively recognize the characters present in the *** experimental result analysis of the HMODL-alPCR technique takes place against the benchmark dataset and the experimental outcomes pointed out the improved efficacy of the HMODL-alPCR technique over the recent methods.

Sinjar plain-northwest Iraq has an abundant amount of groundwater. Due to the importance of this water source, the water quality index (WQI) model was used in the classification of groundwater in the western and eastern regions of Sinjar plain for beneficial use. Groundwater samples were chemically analyzed to calculate the values of WQI. This model consists of a single number of the integrated deviation from standard quality, which indicates the relative importance of each relevant variable for beneficial use. The results indicate that the WQI could be used to determine the particular uses of groundwater. The groundwater in the Sinjar plain is more suitable for irrigation than for livestock drinking and domestic use.

Background: Acute pancreatitis(AP) continues to cause significant morbidity and mortality, especially when it leads to infected pancreatic necrosis(IPN). Modern treatment of IPN frequently involves prolonged courses of antibiotics in combination with minimally invasive therapies. This study aimed to update the existing evidence base by identifying the pathogens causing IPN and therefore aid future selection of empirical antibiotics. Methods: Clinical data, including microbiology results, of consecutive patients with IPN undergoing minimally invasive necrosectomy at our institution between January 2009 and July 2016 were retrospectively reviewed. Results: The results of 40 patients(22 males and 18 females, median age 60 years) with IPN were reviewed. The etiology of AP was gallstones, alcohol, dyslipidemia and unknown in 31, 2, 2 and 5 patients, respectively. The most frequently identified microbes in microbiology cultures were Enterococcus faecalis and faecium(22.5% and 20.0%) and Escherichia coli(20.0%). In 19 cases the cultures grew multiple organisms. The antibiotics with the least resistance amongst the microbiota were teicoplanin(5.0%), linezolid(5.6%), ertapenem(6.5%), and meropenem(7.4%). Conclusion: The carbapenem antibiotics, ertapenem and meropenem provide good antimicrobial cover against the common, mainly enteral, microorganisms causing IPN. Culture and sensitivity results of acquired samples should be regularly reviewed to adjust prescribing and monitor for emergence of resistance.
