Thin films Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)(BLT) were deposited using electron beam evaporation on silicon substrate at several times,also on AlN/Si and SiO_(2)/Si substrates.Thin films morphology and thickness were measured via scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The crystallography was studied using X-ray diffraction(XRD) technique for films which have a(0010) preferred orientation in all substrate types.The capacitance values were contingent on frequency value in C-V measurement.The ferroelectric characterization was investigated for BLT film deposited on isolator layer(SiO_(2) or AlN) for Al/Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)/SiO_(2)/Si devices.Memory effect value varied from 1 V to 3 V depending on the thin films isolator on substrate.

This study presents findings of indoor environmental quality （IEQ） investigations conducted in elementary schools＇ classrooms in the United Arab Emirates （UAE）. Average TVOC, CO2, O3, CO, and particle concentrations measured in the classrooms were 815 pg / m^3, 1605 ppm, 0.05 ppm, 1.16 ppm, and 1730 μg/m^3, respectively. Whereas, local authority known as Dubai Municipality recommended 300 pg/m^3, 800 ppm, 0.06 ppm, 9 ppm, and 150-300 μg/m^3 for TVOC, CO2, O3, CO, and particle, respectively. Dubai Municipality recommended temperature and retative humidity （RH） levels of 22.5 ℃ to 25.5 ℃ and 30%-60%, respectively. Average temperature and RH levels measured in the classrooms were 24.5 ℃ and 40.4%, respectively. Average sound level in the classrooms was 24 dB greater than recommended sound level limit of 35 dB. Six （6） classrooms had average lux levels in the range of 400-800 lux. Two （2） classrooms had average lux levels in the range of 100 200 lux. Introduction: The exhaustion of healthcare resources due to the rising prevalence in Saudi Arabia mandates the search for each method that can help in better control of diabetes. Methods: The gathered task force gath-ered to develop an explicit, evidence-based consensus for the use of time-in-range targets as guidance for better glycemic control while using continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). This article has the recommenda-tions of this expert panel. Results: HbA1c and self-monitoring blood glu-cose (SMBG) are not enough to detect blood glucose (BG) fluctuations on a daily basis. The incorporation of technology like FreeStyle Libre with its applications like Libre View is now used in many institutes in Saudi Ara-bia. This system is comprehensive and has all the standardized metrics needed. However, training and support are always needed. Barriers and challenges include the awareness & experience of the technology, the time barrier, the patients’ barriers, the technical barriers, and of course, the availability barrier. All the barriers and challenges should be dealt with by designing new training programs. Conclusion: The expert panel recom-mended using CGMs technology in people with type 1 diabetes (T1DM) children and adults, type 2 diabetes (T2DM) on multiple insulin injections, gestational diabetes (GDM) who need further glycemic control, and those at high risk for hypoglycemia. In addition, we recommend using them for a short period for those who require intensive BG control or during acute illness or stress. In addition, Ambulatory Glucose Profile (AGP) could be used as an educational tool for any individuals with DM to study the im-pact of certain elements of lifestyle modifications on their immediate BG level.

Inflammatory fibroid polyps(IFPs), or Vanek's tumor, are one of the least common benign small bowel tumors.IFP affects both sexes and all age groups, with a peak of incidence in the fifth and seventh decades.They can be found throughout the gastrointestinal tract but most commonly in the gastric antrum or ileum.The underlying cause of IFPs is still unknown.Genetic study of IFP showed mutations in platelet derived growth factor alpha in some cases.At the time of diagnosis most IFPs have a diameter of 3 to 4 cm.The lesions have always been recorded as solitary polyps.Symptoms depend on the location and the size of the lesion, including abdominal pain, vomiting, altered small bowel movements, gastrointestinal bleeding and loss of weight.IFPs arising below the Treitz ligament can present with an acute abdomen, usually due to intussusceptions.Abdominal computed tomography is currently considered the most sensitive radiological method to show the polyp or to confirm intussusceptions.Most inflammatory fibroid polyps can be removed by endoscopy.Surgery is rarely needed.Exploratory laparoscopy or laparotomy is frequently recommended as the best treatment for intussusceptions caused by IFP.The operation should be performed as early as possible in order to prevent the intussusceptions from leading to ischemia, necrosis and subsequent perforation of the invaginated bowel segment.This report aims at reviewing the diagnosis, etiology, genetics, clinical presentation, endoscopy, radiology, and best treatment of IFP.

The United Arab Emirates lacks conventional water resources and relies primarily on desalination plants powered by fossil fuels to produce fresh water.Nuclear desalination is a proven technology,cost-competitive,and sustainable option capable of integrating the existing largescale desalination plants to produce both freshwater and electricity.However,Small Modular Reactors(SMRs)are promising designs with advanced simplified configurations and inherent safety features.In this study,an Integrated Desalination SMR that produces thermal energy compatible with the capacity of a fossil fuel-powered desalination plant in the UAE was designed.First,the APR-1400 reactor core was used to investigate two 150 MWthconceptual SMR core designs,core A and core B,based on two-dimensional parameters,radius,and height.Then,the CASMO-4 lattice code was used to generate homogenized few-group constants for optimized fuel assembly loading patterns.Finally,to find the best core configuration,SIMULATE-3 was used to calculate the core key physics parameters such as power distribution,reactivity coefficients,and critical boron concentration.In addition,different reflector materials were investigated to compensate for the expected high leakage of the small-sized SMR cores.The pan shape core B model(142.6132 cm diameter,100 cm height,and radially reflected by Stainless Steel)was selected as the best core configuration based on its calculated physics parameters.Core B met the design and safety criteria and indicated low total neutron leakage of 11.60%and flat power distribution with 1.50 power peaking factor.Compared to core A,it has a more negative MTC value of-6.93 pcm/°F with lower CBC.In a 2-batch scheme,the fuel is discharged at 42.25 GWd/MTU burnup after a long cycle length of 1.58 years.The core B model offers the highest specific power of 36.56 kW/kgU while utilizing the smallest heavy metal mass compared with the SMART and NuScale models.

围堰是深水桥梁建设顺利开展的重要平台和前提,在其节段施工中动水荷载是影响钢围堰精确定位、下沉及着床的关键因素。为减小水流作用下的钢围堰动水荷载,针对矩形围堰提出一种在尾端增加一定长度分流板的抑制方法。首先采用计算流体力学(CFD)方法基于开源分析平台OpenFOAM建立钢围堰的二维简化模型,引入修正的k-ε湍流模型用以闭合求解钢围堰超高雷诺数效应下的N-S方程,通过方形截面和矩形截面柱验证所提方法的准确性;然后针对足尺钢围堰模型分流板的设置对于钢围堰动水阻力和横向摆动力的影响进行分析,明确不同分流板长度以及前/后端分流板对动水荷载的抑制作用,提出优化可行的分流板设置方案。研究结果表明:在高雷诺数条件下标准的k-ε模型不能准确捕捉方形及矩形钝体的涡旋脱落过程,会严重低估动水荷载,采用修正的k-ε模型可准确模拟矩形钝体的绕流特性,与试验值吻合良好,可用于钢围堰的计算分析;矩形钢围堰采用圆角设置可有效减小动水阻力和横向摆动力,横向摆动频率提高;在钢围堰后端增加中央分流板可显著降低动水阻力和横向摆动力,当分流板长度在1/10钢围堰纵边长时,抑制效率最高;分流板长度超过钢围堰纵边长的75%时,尾流出现摆动,导致横向摆动力增大,此时增加前端分流板可抑制摆动作用;仅设置前端分流板对动水作用的影响可忽略;通过现场流迹线试验,验证了采用尾端分流板方案的有效性,其可减小并推后尾流涡旋的形成,有效抑制了钢围堰受到的动水阻力和摆动力。

多尺度旋涡现象广泛地存在于工程领域的湍流中.研究湍流的重要方法是大涡模拟,但大涡模拟中的过度耗散问题是曲面边界、多尺度旋涡模拟所面临的主要困难.为了克服过度耗散的缺陷,使大曲率曲面边界的多尺度涡流脉动特性预报更准确,文章采用正则化变分多尺度模型(RVM)改进了壁面自适应涡黏模型(WALE)中的亚格子模型,并采用C++语言在Open FOAM开源平台实现了计算代码编译.文章以经典圆柱黏性绕流作为曲面边界黏性绕流的代表,讨论了改进的大涡模型(MWALE)中滤波算子对亚临界雷诺数(Re=4.0×10^(4))波算子阶数(n)敏感.四阶滤波算子(n=2)能准确地预报圆柱壁面的平均涡量及尾流瞬时涡量分布、再循环旋涡长度和速度剖面,而二阶滤波算子(n=1)无法准确地预测分离区和尾流区内脉动速度剖面,因此在强压力梯度区四阶滤波算子预测的压力分布、脉动升阻力与实验结果吻合的更好,能更准确地捕捉到多尺度旋涡结构.

Tongue diagnosis is a novel and non-invasive approach commonly employed to carry out the supplementary diagnosis over the globe.Recently,several deep learning(DL)based tongue color image analysis models have existed in the literature for the effective detection of diseases.This paper presents a fusion of handcrafted with deep features based tongue color image analysis(FHDF-TCIA)technique to biomedical applications.The proposed FDHF-TCIA technique aims to investigate the tongue images using fusion model,and thereby determines the existence of disease.Primarily,the FHDF-TCIA technique comprises Gaussian filtering based preprocessing to eradicate the noise.The proposed FHDF-TCIA model encompasses a fusion of handcrafted local binary patterns(LBP)withMobileNet based deep features for the generation of optimal feature vectors.In addition,the political optimizer based quantum neural network(PO-QNN)based classification technique has been utilized for determining the proper class labels for it.A detailed simulation outcomes analysis of the FHDF-TCIA technique reported the higher accuracy of 0.992.

This research evaluated the efficiency of Atrium in hot,arid regions and investigated the parameters influencing the total energy consumption of an existing shopping mall in Dubai,UAE using the IES-VE energy modeling software.The parameters tested included:Roof profile,Roof ventilation,Number of floors,glazing’s Light to Solar Gain ratio(LSG)and the Thermal insulation of the building envelope.The impact of using light sensors was also studied.The light sensors and the roof’s thermal insulation resulted in the highest reduction of the atrium’s energy,8.5%and 7.5%,respectively.Increasing the number of floors reduced the energy consumption by 5%per unit area.The roof profile,external wall’s thermal insulation and height of the atrium resulted in similar energy reductions of 3.5%each.The external glazing’s LSG reduced the energy consumption by 3.25%while the roof ventilation resulted in a reduction of 1.3%.The internal glazing’s LSG did not affect the atrium’s total energy consumption.An optimal combination of the parameters studies resulted in an energy reduction of about 20%.Thus,this paper presents the optimal design configuration to reduce the energy consumption of an atrium located in a hot and arid climate.

Biometric verification has become essential to authenticate the individuals in public and private places.Among several biometrics,iris has peculiar features and its working mechanism is complex in nature.The recent developments in Machine Learning and Deep Learning approaches enable the development of effective iris recognition models.With this motivation,the current study introduces a novel Chaotic Krill Herd with Deep Transfer Learning Based Biometric Iris Recognition System(CKHDTL-BIRS).The presented CKHDTL-BIRS model intends to recognize and classify iris images as a part of biometric verification.To achieve this,CKHDTL-BIRS model initially performs Median Filtering(MF)-based preprocessing and segmentation for iris localization.In addition,MobileNetmodel is also utilized to generate a set of useful feature vectors.Moreover,Stacked Sparse Autoencoder(SSAE)approach is applied for classification.At last,CKH algorithm is exploited for optimization of the parameters involved in SSAE technique.The proposed CKHDTL-BIRS model was experimentally validated using benchmark dataset and the outcomes were examined under several aspects.The comparison study results established the enhanced performance of CKHDTL-BIRS technique over recent approaches.
