Development of Low Carbon Aquaculture System by Using Zeolite

Ammonia volatilization is a major process of N （nitrogen） loss that affects the environment. The best way of capturing volatilized ammonia-N could be using zeolite as a good ion exchange medium before it gets either volatilized or nitrified. Thus, captured ammonia-N could be used as a source of inorganic nitrogen in ponds to promote algal production without adding additional organic carbon and BOD （biochemical oxygen demand）. The zeolite used for the study was a commercially available zeolite, （CLINZEX） which was a fine powder （CEC （cation exchange capacity） 3.9-4 meq/g）. The experiment was conducted to assess the difference between manure loaded system and zeolite loaded system in terms of water quality, TAN （total ammoniacal nitrogen） release and algal productivity. The difference between the BOD values recorded in both the controls and treatments utilizing chicken manure as source of manure-N remained mostly above 10 ppm. Similarly, the difference between mean COD （chemical oxygen demand） values of control and treatment tanks always remained above 7 ppm. All the experimental tanks loaded with zeolite samples from chicken manure showed range of variation in TAN values （0.018-0.08 mg/1）. The range of values of chlorophyll a （1,029-5,150 mg/m~） recorded in the treatment tanks was higher than the values （54.6-1347 mg/m3） of chlorophyll a in the control tanks. F-test analysis done using highest mean values of BOD, COD, TAN and chlorophyll a showed a highly significant （P 〈 0.01） variation between the treatment and control tanks and at the same time no significant variation was found between time intervals.

Atmospheric deposition of 7Be,210Pb and 210Po during typhoons and thunderstorm in Shanghai, China and global data synthesis

Atmospherically-delivered ~7Be,^(210)Po and ^(210)Pb in bulk precipitation and air samples collected around the globe have provided valuable quantification on the rates of removal, as well as proportional mixing of attendant air masses;however, such studies during thunderstorm and typhoon events are limited. We report the first continuous time-series rainwater sampling and analysis of ~7Be,^(210)Pb and ^(210)Po from two typhoons and one thunderstorm during 2015 summer in Shanghai. The depositional fluxes within individual rain events of typhoons and thunderstorms varied by a factor of 10 for ~7Be, 5.7 for ^(210)Pb, 7.4 for ^(210)Po,and 7.0 for ~7Be/^(210)Pb activity ratios(AR). Such large observed variations in the depositional fluxes of ~7Be,^(210)Pb,^(210)Po and ~7Be/^(210)Pb activity ratios were attributed to air masses injected from surrounding high pressure system adjoining the typhoon to low pressure system within the typhoon. Based on ~7Be/^(210)Pb activity ratios, we estimated the variations in the fraction of maritime and continental air masses into the typhoon. Observed constancy in the ^(210)Po/^(210)Pb AR indicates that the residence times of air masses contributing to the typhoon during heavy rain are similar. From a synthesis of global fallout of ~7Be and ^(210)Pb during pulse events(precipitation≥50 mm from single rainout event), we quantify the importance of pulse events in the atmospheric fallout of these radionuclides.

A review on front end conversion in ocean wave energy converters

Harvesting the energy from ocean waves is one of the greatest attractions for energy engineers and scientists. Till date, plenty of methods have been adopted to harvest the energy from the ocean waves. However, due to technological and economical complexity, it is intricate to involve the majority of these energy harvesters in the real ocean environment. Effective utilization and sustain- ability of any wave energy harvester depend upon its adaptability in the irregular seasonal waves, situation capability in maximum energy extraction and finally fulfilling the economic barriers. In this paper, the front end energy conversions are reviewed in detail which is positioned in the first stage of the wave energy converter among other stages such as power take off （PTO） and electrical energy conversion. If the recent development of these front end energy conversion is well known then developing wave energy converter with economic and commercial viability is possible. The aim of this review is to provide information on front end energy conversion of a point absorber and emphasize the strategies and calamity to be considered in designing such kinds of devices to improve the energy harvesting competence. This will be useful to the engineers for speeding up the development of a matured point absorbing type wave energy converter.

Clinical and experimental research in antituberculosis drug-induced hepatotoxicity:a review

Drug-induced liver injury is the common adverse effect seen in patients receiving antituberculosis drugs （ATDs）. There are several risk factors associated with the development of hepatotoxicity in such patients. Though there have been appreciable efforts taken by carrying out studies investigating the efficacy of several natural and synthetic compounds in minimising this effect, the only choice available for clinicians is withdrawal of drugs. This review would give a precise idea of ATD-induced hepatotoxicity its underlying mechanisms and alternative therapies for the same.

Analytic Study of Magnetohydrodynamic Flow and Boundary Layer Control Over a Wedge

A genuine variational principle developed by Gyarmati, in the field of thermodynamics of irreversible processes unifying the theoretical requirements of technical, environmental and biological sciences is employed to study the effects of uniform suction and injection on MHD flow adjacent to an isothermal wedge with pressure gradient in the presence of a transverse magnetic field. The velocity distribution inside the boundary layer has been considered as a simple polynomial function and the variational principle is formulated. The Euler-Lagrange equation is reduced to a simple polynomial equation in terms of momentum boundary layer thickness. The velocity profiles, displacement thickness and the coefficient of skin friction are calculated for various values of wedge angle parameter m, magnetic parameter ξ and suction/injection parameter H. The present results are compared with known available results and the comparison is found to be satisfactory. The present study establishes high accuracy of results obtained by this variational technique.

An overview on recent in vivo biological application of cerium oxide nanoparticles

Identifying Influential Communities Using IID for a Multilayer Networks

In online social networks(OSN),they generate several speciﬁc user activities daily,corresponding to the billions of data points ***,although users exhibit signiﬁcant interest in social media,they are uninterested in the content,discussions,or opinions available on certain ***,this study aims to identify inﬂuential communities and understand user behavior across networks in the information diffusion *** media platforms,such as Facebook and Twitter,extract data to analyze the information diffusion process,based on which they cascade information among the individuals in the ***,this study proposes an inﬂuential information diffusion model that identiﬁes inﬂuential communities across these two social media ***-over,it addresses site migration by visualizing a set of overlapping communities using hyper-edge ***,the overlapping community structure is used to identify similar communities with identical user ***,the com-munity structure helps in determining the node activation and user inﬂuence from the information cascade ***,the Fraction of Intra/Inter-Layer(FIL)dif-fusion score is used to evaluate the efﬁciency of the inﬂuential information diffu-sion model by analyzing the trending inﬂuential communities in a multilayer ***,from the experimental result,it observes that the FIL diffusion score for the proposed method achieves better results in terms of accuracy,preci-sion,recall and efﬁciency of community detection than the existing methods.

Proteomic analysis of seminal plasma from bilateral varicocele patients indicates an oxidative state and increased inflammatory response
