The Spinal Ferrite CoCexFe2?xO4 with different compositions (x = 0.0, 0.33, 0.66, 1.0) were prepared by solid state reaction method. FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and UV Spectroscopy (Ultraviolet) have been used to study the phase conformation, morphology and structural properties of all synthesized compositions respectively. Lattice constant was observed to be decreased as smaller ionic radii Co2+ (0.74 ?) replaced the higher ionic radii Ce2+ (1.14 ?). FTIR confirm the formation of cubic spinal ferrites by stretching vibration of metal oxide ion mechanism. SEM shows the surface morphology and grain size for synthesized cubic spinal ferrites in the range of 1.25 - 2.65 μm. Optical band gap energy was determined in the range of 1.4575 - 1.425 eV for x = 0.0 to 1.0 nano-ferrites, respectively. This range of band gap energy indicates that the synthesized ferrites have potential applications in electrical devices.

A wireless sensor network(WSN)consists of several tiny sensor nodes to monitor,collect,and transmit the physical information from an environment through the wireless *** node failure is considered as one of the main issues in the WSN which creates higher packet drop,delay,and energy consumption during the *** the node failure occurred mostly due to persistent energy exhaustion during transmission of data *** this paper,Artificial Neural Network(ANN)based Node Failure Detection(NFD)is developed with cognitive radio for detecting the location of the node *** ad hoc on-demand distance vector(AODV)routing protocol is used for transmitting the data from the source node to the base ***,the Mahalanobis distance is used for detecting an adjacent node to the node failure which is used to create the routing path without any node *** performance of the proposed ANN-NFD method is analysed in terms of throughput,delivery rate,number of nodes alive,drop rate,end to end delay,energy consumption,and overhead ***,the performance of the ANN-NFD method is evaluated with the header to base station and base station to header(H2B2H)*** packet delivery rate of the ANN-NFD method is 0.92 for 150 nodes that are high when compared to the H2B2H ***,the ANN-NFD method provides data consistency during data transmission under node and battery failure.

Objective:To find the effectiveness of essential oil of lemongrass for the treatment of pathogenic ***:Lemongrass oil was investigated for activity against Staphylococcus aureus (***),Bacillus cereus(***),Bacillus subtilis(***),Escherichia coli(***), Klebsiella pneumoniae(***) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa(***),using Agar Diffusion Method and Broth Dilution *** inhibitory concentration(MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration(MBC) were determined by the Broth Dilution Method. The antibiotic susceptibility test against the test organisms was performed by Disc Diffusion ***:Lemongrass was found effective against all the test organisms except P. *** positive organisms were found more sensitive to lemon grass oil as compared to gram negative *** test organisms were found inhibited by Lemon grass oil at lower concentrations in Broth Dilution Method as compared to Agar Diffusion ***: The tested organisms,particularly gram-negative organisms had shown high resistance towards different antibiotics whereas they were found to be inhibited by lemongrass oil even at lower *** lemongrass oil is effective against drug resistant *** can be suggested that use of lemongrass oil would be helpful in the treatment of infections caused by multidrug resistant organisms.

Objective： Laser-induced Coulomb explosion of gold nanoparticles for breast cancer has been studied by nanophotolysis technique. This study aimed to investigate whether laser-induced bubble formation due to Coulomb explosion can provide an effective approach for selective damage of breast cancer with gold nanoparticles. Method： Numerical method involves laser-induced Coulomb explosion of gold nanoparticles. Different parameters related to nanophotolysis such as laser fluence, tumor depth, cluster radius, laser pulse duration, and bubble formation is studied numerically. Numerical simulation was performed using Mat lab. Results： The gold nanopartieles of 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 nm in radius could penetrate into tumor 1.14, 1.155, 1.189, 1.20 and 1.22 cm in depth respectively. The maximum penetration depth in tumor could be obtained with nanoparticles of 50 nm radius. Short laser pulse of 40 ns with nanoparticles of 10 nm radius could penetrate into tumor 1.14 cm in depth. Bubbles with a radius of 9 pm could effectively kill breast cancer cells without damaging healthy ones. The bubble radius increased from 4 to 9 lam with an increase in pulse duration in the range of 10 to 30 ns. Conclusions： Gold nanoparticles with increasing radius and bubble formation for selective damage of breast cancer cells are successfully probed. The present calculated results are compared with other experimental findings, and good correlation is found between the present work and previous experimental values. It was demonstrated that bubble formation in tumor may further increase the efficacy of breast cancer treatment.

Objective: To evaluate acute oral toxicity and anti-arthritic activity of the methanolic extract of Convolvulus arvensis L. ***: Safety was assessed by acute oral toxicity(OECD 425) study. Anti-arthritic activity was explored by in vitro(inhibition of protein denaturation) and in vivo(Complete Freund’s adjuvantinduced arthritis and carrageenan-induced inflammation) methods. Antioxidant potential was determined by assessing ferric reducing power, DPPH inhibition, and H2O2 scavenging assays. Furthermore, molecular docking was done to check interactions between the plant constituents and cyclooxygenases(COX-1 and COX-2). Quercetin, gallic acid, caffeic acid, syringic acid, sinapic acid, and vanillic acid were quantified by HPLC and eight compounds were identified by GC-MS analysis. Results: No mortality and abnormality in biochemical parameters were observed in the toxicity study. Histological analysis of vital organs also supported these biochemical results. The in vitro and in vivo studies showed that the methanolic extract of leaves of Convolvulus arvensis exhibited dose-dependent anti-arthritic and anti-oxidant potential. Molecular docking showed better interactions of plant compounds with cyclooxygenases as compared to standard ibuprofen. Conclusions: Convolvulus arvensis exhibits strong anti-arthritic activity, justifying the traditional use of the herbal drug.

Objective： Terrorism-relatedbomb at- tacks on civilian population have increased dramatically over the last decade. Craniocerebral injuries secondary to impro- vised explosive devices have not been widely reported in the context of unarmored civilians. This series intends to report the spectrum of these injuries secondary to suicidal and implanted bombs as encountered at the Aga Khan Uni- versity Hospital, Pakistan （AKUH）. Further, a few pertinent management guidelines have also been discussed. Methods： The hospital database and clinical coding during a 5-year period were examined for head injuries se- condary to terrorism-associated blasts. In addition to pa- tient demographics, data analysis for our series included initial Glasgow Coma Scale, presenting neurological complaints, associated non-neurological injuries, manage- ment （conservative or operative） to associated complications, and discharge neurological status. Results： A total of 16 patients were included in this series. Among them 9 were victims of suicidal blasts while 7 were exposed to implanted devices. The patients presented with diverse patterns of injury secondary to a variety of shrapnel. A follow-up record was available for 12 of the 16 patients （mean follow-up： 7.8 months）, with most patients having no active complaints. Conclusion： The results of this series show that civi- lian victims of suicidal and improvised bombings present with a wide range of neurological symptoms and injury patterns, which often differ from the neurological injuries incurred by military personnel in similar situations, and thereby often require individualized care.

This paper presents a compact Multiple Input Multiple Output(MIMO)antenna with WLAN band notch for Ultra-Wideband(UWB)*** antenna is designed on 0.8mmthick low-cost FR-4 substrate having a compact size of 22mm×30 *** proposed antenna comprises of two monopole patches on the top layer of substrate while having a shared ground on its bottom *** mutual coupling between adjacent patches has been reduced by using a novel stub with shared ground *** stub consists of complementary rectangular slots that disturb the surface current direction and thus result in reducing mutual coupling between two ports.A slot is etched in the radiating patch for WLAN band *** slot is used to suppress frequencies ranging from 5.1 to 5.9 *** results show that the proposed antenna has a very good impedance bandwidth of|S11|9.98).

X-Ray and Neutron Diffraction Studies on Thermal Parameters of Thalous Bromide

Thermal parameters of TIBr were determined using both X-ray and neutron diffraction techniques. The data was analysed by Rietveld profile refinement procedure. From the neutron diffraction data, due to weak odd-order reflections, it was not possible to determine the individual thermal parameters. TheX-ray diffraction measurements yielded BT1=0.296(5) nm2 and BBr=0.162(5) nm2. The overall isotropic value, B was 0.252(7) nm2 which is in good agreement with B=0.230(8) nm2 obtained from present neutron diffraction measurements. The present values are also in good agreement with theoretical estimates obtained from the shell models.
