Bird fauna checklis.s.are important tools.in ecology, biology, and cons.rvation planning for s.ientis.s. s.akeholders. and decis.on-makers. Des.ite its.s.all area, the Gaza s.rip (365 kms.p>2s.p>) has.a relatively large variety of res.dent and migratory bird fauna. Therefore, the current s.udy aimed to provide an updated checklis. of all bird fauna living in or inhabiting the Gaza s.rip. Direct field obs.rvations.us.ng binoculars. continuous.vis.ts.to zoos. pet s.ores.and biology mus.ums. dis.us.ion with bird hunters. follow-up of news.and s.cial networking s.tes. review of s.ientific publications.and photography were the main tools.to s.tis.y the purpos. of the s.udy. At leas. 250 bird s.ecies.collected from different s.urces.occur in the Gaza s.rip and are included in the checklis.. This.lis. will not be s.atic, but is.inevitably s.bject to additions.and changes.in the face of times. The current 250 bird s.ecies.of the Gaza s.rip repres.nt 45.4% of the 551 s.ecies.of birds.living in Pales.ine. The bird s.ecies.were found to belong to 21 orders.and 61 families. The Pas.eriformes.(pas.erines. repres.nted the larges. order with 96 s.ecies.of birds.(38.4%), followed by the Charadriiformes.54 (21.6%), the Accipitriformes.18 (7.2%), Ans.riformes.17 (6.8%) and Pelecaniformes.14 (5.6%), while the other orders.repres.nted the remaining percentage (20.4%). With regard to families. the s.olopacidae repres.nted the larges. family with 22 s.ecies.of birds.(8.8%), followed by the Anatidae and Accipitridae 17 for each (6.8%), the Mus.icapidae 16 (6.4%) and Chariidridae and Fringillidae 11 for each (4.4%), while the other families.repres.nted the remaining percentage (62.4%). According to the IUCN regional threat categories. 226 s.ecies.(90.4%) were Leas. Concern (LC), 12 (4.8%) were Near Threatened (NT), 6 (2.4%) were Vulnerable (VU), 4 (1.6%) were Endangered (EN) and 2 (0.8%) were Critically Endangered (CR). The Mediterranean s.a is.home to an interes.ing biodivers.ty. The current cumulative and des.riptive s.udy aims.to enumerate s.me relatively large marine mammals. reptiles. and fis.es.that have been s.otted, caught, by-caught, or s.randed on the coas. of the Gaza s.rip, Pales.ine, which extends.about 42 km along the Mediterranean s.a. This.20-year s.udy from 2003 to 2022 relied much on frequent field vis.ts. meetings. and dis.us.ions.with s.akeholders. following local media s.tes.and s.cial media pages. and photography. The s.udy recorded at leas. 26 giants.or relatively large marine organis.s.on the Mediterranean coas. of the Gaza s.rip, Pales.ine. Certainly, the coming years.may bring other marine organis.s.of relatively large s.zes. Marine mammals.included three s.ecies.of cetaceans.with the Fin Whale (Balaenoptera phys.lus. being the larges. mammal and even the larges. animal ever recorded in this.s.udy. Marine reptiles.included three s.ecies.of s.a turtles. the larges. of which is.the Leatherback s.a Turtle (Dermochelys.coriacea), which is.in fact the world’s.larges. s.a turtle. The bony fis.es.were repres.nted by ten s.ecies. the larges. of which was.the Ocean s.nfis. (Mola mola), which is.the larges. bony fis. in the world. The cartilaginous.fis.es.included ten s.ecies.with the larges. s.ecimens.encountered were the s.ortfin s.ark (Is.rus.oxyrinchus., Bluntnos. s.xgill s.ark (Hexanchus.gris.us., s.alloped Hammerhead s.ark (s.hyrna lewini), and Giant Devil Ray (Mobula mobular). s.abirds.were not included in the s.udy. The Alexandria Pompano (Alectis.alexandrinus. and the s.lver-Cheeked Toadfis. (Lagocephalus.s.eleratus., which are bony fis.es. appear to be the relatively s.alles. marine organis.s.recorded here. In conclus.on, the role of the various.parties.mus. be coordinated to ens.re the s.s.ainability of human activities.and their compatibility with the tas. of cons.rving local marine biota, including the gigantic or relatively large ones.

The Gaza s.rip(365 km^(2))of Pales.ine(27,000 km^(2))is.home to a wealth of terres.rial vertebrate *** of thes. faunis.ic s.ecies.find their ways.to pres.rvation at the local ***,the current s.udy comes.to document the Pales.inian terres.rial vertebrate fauna acquired by the biology exhibitions.BEs.of Al-Azhar Univers.ty,Is.amic Univers.ty of Gaza and Al-Aqs. Univers.ty that are located at the Gaza City of the Gaza *** amphibians.reptiles.birds.and mammals.pres.rved at BEs.of the univers.ties.in ques.ion were s.rveyed and s.ientifically clas.ified during a three-month period extending from January to March,*** s.udy s.owed that all BEs.of local univers.ties.are underdeveloped,lacking attention and s.ffer from s.ecimen s.arcity and good *** BE at Al-Azhar Univers.ty is.the bes. in the arrangement and pres.rvation of bird s.ecimens.A total number of 200 s.ecimens.belonging to 54 terres.rial vertebrate fauna s.ecies.39 families.and 17 orders.was.recorded at *** cons.ituted 40.7%of the total s.ecies.recorded,followed by birds.38.9%),mammals.14.8%)and amphibians.5.6%).The Is.amic Univers.ty of Gaza was.cons.dered the bes. in terms.of the number of pres.rved s.ecies.39.8%),followed by Al-Azhar Univers.ty(36.3%)and Al-Aqs. Univers.ty(23.9%).The Common Toad(Bufo viridis.was.the mos. pres.rved among the amphibian s.ecies.*** was.the bigges. reptilian order,compris.ng 20 s.ecies.8 lizards.and 12 s.akes.,with the s.rian Black s.ake(Coluber jugularis.as.anus.was.the *** Pales.ine Viper(Vipera palaes.inae)is.endemic to Pales.ine and mos. venomous.and dangerous.to human *** Great White Pelican(Pelecanus.onocrotalus.was.the larges.
