Wines contain significant amounts of polyphenols which autoxidize upon contact with oxygen,producing hydrogen *** checked more than 40 samples of white and red wines finding,on average,production of small amounts of hydrogen peroxide within 3 h after the wines had contacted with air,though some samples did not produce detectable amounts of H_(2)O_(2).The increase in hydrogen peroxide concentration after 3-h incubation of wines after opening ranged from -3.09 to 6.60μ*** showed also the ability of hydrogen peroxide scavenging,which can be partly attributed to ***,the measured net production of hydrogen peroxide in wine is a result of the actual production and scavenging of hydrogen peroxide.

Computer vision(CV)methods for measurement of structural vibration are less expensive,and their application is more straightforward than methods based on sensors that measure physical quantities at particular points of a ***,CV methods produce significantly more measurement ***,computer vision-based structural health monitoring(CVSHM)requires appropriate methods of damage assessment that are robust with respect to highly contaminated measurement *** this paper a complete CVSHM framework is proposed,and three damage assessment methods are *** first is the augmented inverse estimate(AIE),proposed by Peng et *** *** method is designed to work with highly contaminated measurement data,but it fails with a large noise provided by CV *** second method,as proposed in this paper,is based on the AIE,but it introduces a weighting matrix that enhances the conditioning of the *** third method,also proposed in this paper,introduces additional constraints in the optimization process;these constraints ensure that the stiffness of structural elements can only *** proposed methods perform better than the original *** latter of the two proposed methods gives the best results,and it is robust with respect to the selected coefficients,as required by the algorithm.

The formation of anorthosites in layered intrusions has remained one of petrology＇s most enduring enigmas. We have studied a sequence of layered chromitite, pyroxenite, norite and anorthosite overlying the UG2 chromitite in the Upper Critical Zone of the eastern Bushveld Complex at the Smokey Hills platinum mine. Layers show very strong medium to large scale lateral continuity, but abundant small scale irregularities and transgressive relationships. Particularly notable are irregular masses and seams of anorthosite that have intrusive relationships to their host rocks. An anorthosite layer locally transgresses several 10 s of metres into its footwall, forming what is referred to as a ＂pothole＂ in the Bushveld Complex. It is proposed that the anorthosites formed from plagioclase-rich crystal mushes that originally accumulated at or near the top of the cumulate pile. The slurries were mobilised during tectonism induced by chamber subsidence, a model that bears some similarity to that generally proposed for oceanic mass flows. The anorthosite slurries locally collapsed into pull-apart structures and injected their host rocks. The final step was down-dip drainage of Fe-rich intercumulus liquid, leaving behind anorthosite adcumulates.

Hazardous events related to atmospheric precipitation depend not only on the intensity of surface precipitation,but also on its *** related to determination of the precipitation type(PT)leads to financial losses in many areas of human activity,such as the power industry,agriculture,transportation,and many *** this study,we use machine learning(ML)algorithms with the data fusion approach to more accurately determine surface *** on surface synoptic observations,ERA5 reanalysis,and radar data,we distinguish between liquid,mixed,and solid precipitation *** study domain considers the entire area of Poland and a period from 2015 to *** purpose of this work is to address the question:“How can ML techniques applied in observational and NWP data help to improve the recognition of the surface PT?”Despite testing 33 parameters,it was found that a combination of the near-surface air temperature and the depth of the warm layer in the 0-1000 m above ground level(AGL)layer contains most of the signal needed to determine surface *** accrued probability of detection for liquid,solid,and mixed PTs according to the developed Random Forest model is 98.0%,98.8%,and 67.3%,*** application of the ML technique and data fusion approach allows to significantly improve the robustness of PT prediction compared to commonly used baseline models and provides promising results for operational forecasters.

The Merensky Reef hosts one of the largest PGE resources *** has been exploited for nearly 100 years,yet its origin remains *** the present study,we characterised eight samples of the reef at four localities in the western Bushveld Complex using micro-X-ray fluorescence and field emission scanning electron *** results indicate that the Merensky Reef formed through a range of diverse *** exhibited by chromite grains at the base of the reef are consistent with supercooling and in situ *** local thickening of the Merensky chromitite layers within troughs in the floor rocks is most readily explained by granular *** and deformation textures in pyroxenes of the Merensky pegmatoid bear testament to recrystallisation and *** footwall rocks to the reef contain disseminations of PGE rich sulphides as well as olivine grains with peritectic reaction rims along their upper margins suggesting reactive downward flow of silicate and sulphide ***-hosted melt inclusions containing Cl-rich apatite,sodic plagioclase,and phlogopite suggest the presence of highly evolved,volatile-rich *** reverse zonation of cumulus plagioclase in the footwall of the reef indicates dissolution or partial melting of plagioclase,possibly triggered by flux of heat,acidic fluids,or hydrous ***,these data suggest that the reef formed through a combination of magmatic,hydrodynamic and hydromagmatic processes.

Transformation-temperature-hydrogen pressure phase diagram was constructed for a Nd15Fe79B6 alloy in order to estimate appropriate conditions for hydrogenation, disproportionation, desorption and recombination reaction （the HDDR）. Optimised recom- bination time （the highest coercivity） was found to be 10 rain. for 5 g samples processed at 740 ℃. Several HDDR processes were carried out at 30 kPa of hydrogen pressure at various temperatures. No correlation between magnetic propertiec and a direction of measurement was observed for the samples processed at 740 ℃. Remanence anisotropy was induced along an alignment direction when the temperature of the HDDR process was increased up to 800 ℃ and 850℃ for 〈100 gm and 100-160 p.m particles, respec- tively. Simultaneously, a small drop in coercivity was observed in the direction of alignment for 〈100 pm particles, but no for 100-160 grn particles. Furthermore, probably an ordered phase was found by TEM microstructure analysis in the bulk sample dis- proportionated at 850 ℃ under 150 kPa of hydrogen. Grains with antiphase domains were observed and corresponding electron dif- fraction patterns were resolved, likely indicating superlattice structures.

Boulder block ramps are river engineering structures used to stabilise river beds. Block ramps provide a semi-natural and aesthetically pleasing solution to certain river engineering problems in mountain streams. When constructing block ramps,one can use the dissipative behaviour of large macroroughness elements randomly placed on the river bed to enhance fish migration in an upstream direction thus, in this sense, meeting the requirements of the EU Water Framework Directive. Block ramps are often designed and constructed to replace damaged drop hydraulic structures in the channels of mountain streams. This paper investigates the resilience of a particular block ramp placed in the Krzczonówka stream(Polish Carpathians) in terms of the engineering design function and its durability against damaging. A hydrodynamic analysis of a block ramp is presented before and after a flood event that changed the configuration of the blocks. The seminatural unstructured hydraulic structure was built on the Krzczonowka stream to protect gas pipes which are located beneath it. As a result of several floods, the boulder block chute described in this paper was damaged, and some boulders were dislodged and transported downstream. Our post-flood investigations of bathymetry and velocity revealed that even damaged boulder blocks, removed from the chute and displaced downstream of the structure, still provide significant energy dissipation of the flowing water. The novel of our paper is for the first time showing very detailed analysis of unstructured block ramp hydrodynamics parameters done in the *** the novel finding of our investigations shows that before and after the flood event the unstructured block ramp structure, is still fish friendly in terms of hydrodynamics.

Electrochemical water splitting is a straightforward process that involves two distinct reactions:the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)which produces oxygen(O_(2))and the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)which generates hydrogen(H_(2)).However,in the whole process,the OER is a bottleneck as it requires more energy than a four-electron reaction involving critical raw materials(such as RuO_(2)or IrO_(2))as ***,here,we address the challenge of erratic kinetics/limited durability of OER in water electrolysis,In this paper,we demonstrate that the deposition of ultrasmall amounts of nickel(Ⅱ)nitrate in zeolitic imidazolate framework-67(ZIF-67)can be used as a general approach to enhance the electrocatalytic performance of the *** investigated the influence of Ni(NO_(3))·x6H_(2)O loading on ZIF-67(from 0.1 to 0.0001 M)and found that ZIF-67 enriched with only 0.001 M of Ni(NO_(3))2·x6H_(2)O(ZIF-670.001 Ni)exhibited massive promotion in *** ZIF-670.001 Ni showed a large specific surface area of 2577 m^(2)g^(-1),a low overpotential of 299 mV,a lower Tafel slope of 94.1 mA dec^(-1),and an outstanding overpotential retention of 99.8%(at 50 mA cm^(-2)).By conducting electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)measurements,we also discovered that the 0.001 M of Ni(NO_(3))_(2)·x6H_(2)O loading in ZIF-67 introduces Ni^(^(2+))dimers,which contribute to the enhanced electroactivity of the modified *** phenomenon was further revealed during density-functional theory(DFT)calculations,which allowed us to identify different possible forms of Ni^(^(2+))dimers and modeling of active *** with in situ experiments,we provide mechanistic insight into the OER mechanism under alkaline conditions and found that it follows the lattice oxygen mechanism(LOM).Our study proposes a facile and efficient room-temperature route to boost the electrochemical performance of ZIF-67 in *** the first time,we demonstrate that modifying ZIF-67 with an ultrasmall amoun
