Photosystem I(PSI)is one of two photosystems involved in oxygenic *** of cyanobacteria exists in monomeric,trimeric,and tetrameric forms,in contrast to the strictly monomeric form of PSI in plants and *** tetrameric organization raises questions about its structural,physiological,and evolutionary *** we report the3.72 A˚resolution cryo-electron microscopy structure of tetrameric PSI from the thermophilic,unicellular cyanobacterium Chroococcidiopsis *** structure resolves 44 subunits and 448 cofactor *** conclude that the tetramer is arranged via two different interfaces resulting from a dimer-of-dimers *** localization of chlorophyll molecules permits an excitation energy pathway within and between adjacent *** analysis reveals conserved regions in the PsaL subunit that correlate with the oligomeric *** PSI may function as a key evolutionary step between the trimeric and monomeric forms of PSI organization in photosynthetic organisms.

A series of 60~nm thick indium oxide thin-films,all amorphous as determined by x-ray diffraction,were found to have physical and electrical properties that depended on the temperature of *** carrier mobility and flm conductivity decreased with decreasing deposition temperature;the best electrical properties of high mobility and conductivity were observed at a deposition temperature just below the temperature at which crystalline films *** density of the flm also decreased with deposition temperature from 7.2g/cm3 at+50℃ to 5.3g/cm3 at 100℃.

One-dimensional Nonlinear Laplacians under a 3-Point Boundary Condition

We consider a three-point boundary value problem for operators such as the one-dimensional p-Laplacian, and show when they have solutions or not, and how many. The inverse operators are given by various formulas involving zeros of a real-valued function. They are shown to be orderpreserving, for some parameter values, and non-singleton valued for others. The operators are shown to be m-dissipative in the space of continuous functions.

Effectiveness of hand self-shiatsu to improve sleep following sport-related concussion in young athletes: a proof-of-concept study

Objective: The prevalence of sport-related concussion(SRC) is high and results in a number of serious health consequences. One area that has received minimal research is the relationship between SRC and sleep. The literature shows that sleep deficiency is a frequent negative consequence of SRC. At the same time, sleep deficiency delays recovery from SRC and contributes added risk of symptom recurrence.A 2014 study of chronic pain patients who learned to apply the complementary and alternative medicine intervention hand self-shiatsu(HSS) had promising, sleep-promoting results that warrant further investigation with other populations. This proof-of-concept study explored the feasibility of HSS as an intervention to promote sleep onset and continuity for young adults with ***: This study employed a prospective case-series design, where participants act as their own controls. Baseline and follow-up data included standardized self-reported assessment tools and sleep ***: Seven athletes, aged between 18 and 25 years, participated in the study. Although statistically significant improvement in actigraphy sleep scores between baseline and follow-up was not achieved,metrics for sleep quality and daytime fatigue showed significant ***: These findings support the hypothesis that HSS has the potential to improve sleep and reduce daytime fatigue in young postconcussion athletes. This pilot study provides guidance to refine research protocols and lays a foundation for further, large-sample, controlled studies.

Over 95% of plastid proteins are nuclear-encoded as their precursors containing an N-terminal extension known as the transit peptide （TP）. Although highly variable, TPs direct the precursors through a conserved, posttranslational mechanism involving translocons in the outer （TOC） and inner envelope （TOC）. The organelle import specificity is mediated by one or more components of the Toc complex. However, the high TP diversity creates a paradox on how the sequences can be specifically recognized. An emerging model of TP design is that they contain multiple loosely conserved motifs that are recognized at different steps in the targeting and transport process. Bioinformatics has demonstrated that many TPs contain semiconserved physicochemical motifs, termed FGLK. In order to characterize FGLK motifs in TP recognition and import, we have analyzed two well-studied TPs from the precursor of RuBisCO small subunit （SStp） and ferredoxin （Fdtp）. Both SStp and Fdtp contain two FGLK motifs. Analysis of large set mutations （-85） in these two motifs using in vitro, in organello, and in vivo approaches support a model in which the FGLK domains mediate interaction with TOC34 and possibly other TOC components. In vivo import analysis suggests that multiple FGLK motifs are functionally redundant. Furthermore, we discuss how FGLK motifs are required for efficient precursor protein import and how these elements may permit a convergent function of this highly variable class of targeting sequences.
