A new on-line fault detection and isolation （FDI） scheme proposed for engines using an adaptive neural network classifier is evaluated for a wide range of operational modes to check the robustness of the scheme in this paper. The neural classifier is adaptive to cope with the significant parameter uncertainty, disturbances, and environment changes. The developed scheme is capable of diagnosing faults in on-line mode and the FDI for the closed-loop system with can be directly implemented in an on-board crankshaft speed feedback is investigated by diagnosis system （hardware）. The robustness of testing it for a wide range of operational modes including robustness against fixed and sinusoidal throttle angle inputs, change in load, change in an engine parameter, and all these changes occurring at the same time. The evaluations are performed using a mean value engine model （MVEM）, which is a widely used benchmark model for engine control system and FDI system design. The simulation results confirm the robustness of the proposed method for various uncertainties and disturbances.

Peripheral itch stimuli are transmitted by sensory neurons to the spinal cord dorsal horn, which then transmits the information to the brain. The molecular and cellular mechanisms within the dorsal horn for itch transmission have only been investigated and identified during the past ten years. This review covers the progress that has been made in identifying the peptide families in sensory neurons and the receptor families in dorsal horn neurons as putative itch transmitters, with a focus on gastrin-releasing peptide （GrP）--GrP receptor signaling. Also discussed are the signaling mechanisms, including opioids, by which various types of itch are transmitted and modulated, as well as the many conflicting results arising from recent studies.

Background Time-intensity curves derived from microbubble destruction/refilling sequences and recorded using myocardial contrast echocardiography (MCE) can provide parameters that correlate with coronary blood flow. The response of these parameters to adenosine vasodilatation correlates with coronary flow reserve (CFr) measured by fluorescent microsphere techniques (FMT). Currently, no data exist regarding the effect of physiological variables, such as hypoxia, on the determination of CFr by MCE. The purpose of this study was to define the effects of decreases in blood partial pressure of oxygen (PO_2) on CFr as measured by MCE. Methods Studies were performed in 9 closed chest swine. Low-energy, real-time MCE was performed with commercial instruments in short axis view at papillary muscle level while infusing Br_1 at 30 ml/h. High-energy ultrasound bursts (referred to as FLASH frames) destroyed the bubbles every 15 cardiac cycles, and resultant time-intensity curves derived from these sequences were fitted to the exponential function y = A (1-e -bt) +c, from which the rate of signal rise (b) was obtained. CFr was calculated as the ratio of b values after adenosine infusion to baseline and was obtained during the control period and after decreasing blood PO_2 by giving nitrogen via a respirator to create artificial hypoxic conditions. CFr was independently determined by FMT. results Nitrogen led to significant decreases in mean PO_2, from (120.6±18.9) mmHg to (51.8±15.9) mmHg (Produced a similar increase in CFr (2.5 fold vs 3.1 fold) as assessed by MCE and FMT during the control period. The decrease in PO_2 post nitrogen resulted in a slight increase in values at rest: 0.46±0.15 to 0.53±0.18 for b and (1.39±0.66) ml·min -1·g -1 to (1.72±0.30) ml·min -1·g -1 for myocardial blood flow (MBF) (both Preased in response to adenosine using both techniques: 1.05±0.35 to 0.82±0.27 for b and (4.30±3.16) ml·min -1·g -

This work details new insights into the in-process densification mechanism of cold spray Al coatings. The results show a trend counter to common observations: coating plastic deformation levels and coating density decreases with an increase in particle impact velocity. A lower particle impact velocity and the consequent lower deposition efficiency(DE) results in greater tamping energy per unit volume of deposit,which is the primary reason for the observed trend. This is the first time that DE has been shown to have a non-linear impact on the density of a cold spray coating, with particle in-process tamping being the primary mechanism for coating densification.

Inspired by recent breakthroughs with topological quantum materials,which pave the way to novel,high-efficiency,low-energy magnetoelectric devices[1-3]and fault-tolerant quantum information processing[4],inter alia,topological quantum walks have emerged as an exciting topic in its own right,especially due to the theoretical and experimental simplifications this approach offers[5-14].Motivated by impressive progress in topological quantum walks,we provide a perspective on theoretical studies and experimental investigations of topological quantum walks focusing on current explorations of topological properties arising for single-walker quantum walks.
