Effect of tool rotational speed on the particle distribution in friction stir welding of AA6092/17.5 siCp-T6 composite plates and its consequences on the mechanical property of the joint

This study investigates the effect of tool rotational speed(TRs)on particle distribution in nugget zone(NZ)through quantitative approach and its consequences on the mechanical property of friction stir welded joints of AA6092/17.5 siCp-T6 composite.6 mm thick plates are welded at a constant tool tilt angle of 2°and tool traverse speed of 1 mm/s by varying the TRs at 1000 rpm,1500 rpm and 2000 rpm with a taper pin profiled *** analysis shows large quantity of uniformly shaped smaller size siC particle with lower average particle area which are homogeneously distributed in the *** fragmentation of bigger size particles.has been observed because of abrading action of the hard tool and resulting shearing effect and severe stress generation due to the rotation of *** particles occupy maximum area in the matrix compared to that of the base material(BM)due to the redistribution of broken particles as an effect of *** migration of particles towards the TMAZ-NZ transition zone has been also encountered at higher TRs(2000 rpm).The microhardness analysis depicts variation in average hardness from top to bottom of the NZ,minimum for 1500 rpm and maximum for 2000 *** impact strength at 1000 rpm and 1500 rpm remains close to that of BM(21.6 J)while 2000 rpm shows the accountable *** maximum joint efficiency has been achieved at 1500 rpm(84%)and minimum at 1000 rpm(68%)under tensile *** analysis shows mixed mode of failure for BM,1000 rpm and 1500 rpm,whereas 2000 rpm shows the brittle mode of failure.

The present research introduces a unique concept of scarf joint technique in friction stir welding(FsW) of aluminum alloy AA 6061-T6 plates and an investigation on weld quality.A new joint configuration with two distinct scarf angles(75°and 60°) was considered in this *** various aspects of welding were compared with contemporary simple square butt(ssB) joint *** was carried out at a constant tool rotation speed(TRs),tool traverse speed(TTs) and tool tilt angle of 1100 rpm,2 mm/s and2°,*** results are analyzed in terms of force and torque distribution,microstructure,macrostructure,and mechanical property perspective for different joint *** study reveals the minimum amount of force and torque at 60°scarf angle joint configuration compared to that of square butt joint *** study shows that all the joints were defect-free,and a prominent onion ring was present in the lower portion of the weld nugget(WN).Fine equiaxed grains with a minimum average grain size diameter of 6.82 μm were obtained in the WN of scarf joint configuration(sJC).The maximum ultimate tensile strength(UTs) and maximum average NZ hardness of 267 MPa and83.82 HV0.1were obtained in sJC3 at a scarf angle of 60°.It has been observed from the investigation that the joint efficiency increases from 72.5%(ssB) to 86%(sJC3) at a 60° scarf *** unique characteristic may lay an impetus on probable joint strength enhancement technique without increasing the production cost.

Nutrient management plays a crucial role in the yield and quality of sweet corn.A field experiment was conducted in consecutive two kharif seasons in 2018 and 2019 to investigate the effect of various organic sources of nutrients in combination with inorganic sources on the yield and quality of sweet corn under new alluvial soils of West Bengal,*** were:T_(1):Control(without fertilizers);T_(2):100%recommended dose(RDF)of chemical fertilizers(CF)(RDF CF_(100%));T_(3):100%recommended dose of N(RDN)through vermicompost(VC)(RDN VC_(100%));T_(4):50 RDN through CF+50%RDN through VC(RDN CF_(50%)+RDN VC50%);T_(5):50%RDF through CF+50%RDN through organic source(Os)1,soligro(Ascophyllum nodosum)granular(RDN CF_(50%)+RDN Os_(150%));T6:50%RDN through CF+50%RDN through Os 2,Bioenzyme(liquid)(RDN CF_(50%)+RDN Os250%);T7:50%RDN through CF+50%RDN through Os 3,Opteine(Ascophyllum nodosum)filtrate[RDN CF_(50%)+RDN Os350%];T8:50%RDN through VC+50%RDF through Os 1,soligro(Ascophyllum nodosum)granular(RDN VC50%+RDN Os_(150%)).The Os of fertilizers were VC,soliGro Gr(Os1)(Ascophyllum nodosum),Bioenzyme liquid(Os2),and Opteine(Ascophyllum nodosum)filtrate(Os3).The inorganic source was traditional CF applied at the RDF(150:75:75 kg ha^(−1) of N:P2O5:K2O).The VC was used to supply 100%RDN as one source or 50%RDN when combined with CF or *** fruit yield(10.75 and 10.79 t ha^(−1) in 2018 and 2019,respectively)was recorded when RDF was substituted through CF only,being statistically at par with 50%CF+50%VC on a nitrogen equivalent basis(9.92 and 10.00 t ha^(−1) in 2018 and 2019,respectively)and 100%VC(8.22 and 8.32 t ha^(−1) in 2018 and 2019,respectively).Compared to chemical sources of nutrients,VC-based treatments produced a larger percentage of large-size cob(>25 cm).The 100%VC increased antioxidant(8.35 and 8.45 mg g^(−1)),carotenoid(0.59 and 0.61 mg/100 g),and phenol(55.06 and 55.02 mg 100 g^(−1))content compared with its 50%dose in combination with other *** s

Aims Deforestation and biodiversity loss are two alarming,closely related problems,and the main factors triggering changes in land *** agricultural practices in the western Amazon Basin are known as chakras,and their structure and dynamics are seemingly optimal for forest ***,the variability in tree spe-cies and the degree of forest recovery after abandonment is poorly documented in this agroforestry system(AFs).The goals of this study were:(i)to investigate whether the different AFss(chakras)preserve similar levels of forest diversity,(ii)to determine the effect of trans-formation of mature forests(MF)to chakras,in particular,forest alpha and beta diversity levels,and(iii)to investigate whether native tree species recovery leads to the original forest structure following chakra *** We assessed the floristic composition in three AFss(cassava,corn,and cocoa),the secondary forest(sF),and the forest remnants in the buffer zone of the Northern Ecuadorian Amazon(NEA).All tree spe-cies with a diameter at breast height(dbh)≥10 cm were inventoried in 61 plots(0.28 ha average)representing 17.44 *** diversity was calculated in all systems to determine the levels of variabil-ity using species richness and the shannon diversity ***,beta diversity was examined to evaluate the degree of dissimilarity among all AFss with the MF in order to analyze changes in floristic *** divergence between the sF and the MF was ana-lyzed to ascertain forest recovery after chakra *** Findings A total of 4,060 trees(dbh≥10 cm)representing 109 species,96 genera,and 43 plant families were inventoried in 17.44 ha sampled in five systems in the buffer zone of the *** most dominant plant families were Arecaceae,Myristicaceae,Fabaceae,Meliaceae,and Malvaceae,and the most representative genera included Iriartea,Virola,Guarea,Ocotea,Cordia,Chrysophyllum,and *** MF in this zone is composed of 81 tree species circums

Photodynamic therapy（PDT） has emerged as a clinical modality for treatment of certain localized and superficial cancers [1].It requires a photosensitive drug,light of specific wavelength,and molecular oxygen to induce a series of photochemical reactions,leading to the formation of cytotoxic reactive oxygen species（ROs）.These ROs destroy tumors by multifactorial mechanisms,including killing malignant cells by apoptosis and/or necrosis,shutting down the tumor vasculature,and stimulating the host immune system [2].With a view to improving the therapeutic outcome,various strategies.have been explored to enhance the ROs generation efficiency and tumor selectivity of the *** address the latter aspect,conjugation to tumor-specific vehicles [3] and encapsulation in colloidal nanocarriers [4] are two common ***,"smart" photosensitizing systems that can be activated by tumor-associated stimuli have received considerable attention [5],which can overcome the drawback of nonspecific photodamage in *** this presentation,we will showcase our endeavor along these strategies in advancing phthalocyanine-based theranostic agents for cancer imaging and *** molecular design,synthesis,photophysical properties,as well as in vitro and in vivo biological response of these systems will be reported and discussed.

Release of Arsenic from Arsenic Removal Water Filter sludge in soil and Its Uptake by Red Amaranth

There is a major concern among scientists over the elevated levels of arsenic (As) in drinking water in Bangladesh and some parts of India. Investigating the release of As from water filter sludge in soil and its uptake by plants may provide information about the management of As contaminated filter sludge. In this macrocosm study, iron based sludge con- taining granular ferric hydroxide (GFH) was mixed with air dried silt loam surface soil at rate of 0 (control, no sludge), 1.5 and 2.5 t?ha?1 and red amaranth (Amaranthus tricolor L.) plants were grown for 45 days. Addition of filter sludge did not affect the height, fresh weight and dry matter yield of amaranth. However, the highest concentration of As and Fe were found both in shoots and roots of amaranth grown in the pot of the highest rate of sludge treated soil. The con- centration of As, Fe and s was higher in the roots than that in the shoots of Amaranth. Translocation of As, s and Fe in- creased with the rates of sludge application. Elevated concentration of As in sludge treated plants is a sign of environ- mental hazard and should be taken into consideration.
