Agarwood is a non-timber forest product found in tropical rain *** is a black and fragrant resin valued for the perfume industry and demand continues to ***,the Indonesian agarwood-producing species,Aquilaria malaccensis and Gyrinops versteegii do not automatically produce such quality ***-induction technology or inoculation using Fusarium solani is usually applied to these species to trigger resin *** research aims to identify agarwood compounds formed in seedlings and trees of *** and *** after these species were inoculated with the fungus *** chemical compounds were identified by comparing the patterns of mass spectra fragmentation in the sample and in previous *** groups of agarwood compounds were identified:(1)sesquiterpen group-cisjasmone and aromadendrenepoxide;(2)chromones group-8-methoxy-2-(2-phenylethyl)chromen-4-one and newly-discovered chromone derivative,7-(benzyloxy)-5-hydroxy-2-methylchromone found only in ***;(3)aromatic group-benzylacetone,guaiacol,p-ethylguaiacol,phenol,syringaldehyde,vanilin,furfuryl alcohol,and furfural;(4)fatty acid group-palmitic acid,oleic acid,and lauric acid;and,(5)triterpen group-squalene.

This paper reports a series of in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo mechanical and corrosion studies of pin and screw prototype made of friction welded pure iron and 316 L type stainless steel aiming to evaluate the applicability of the partially removable bone screws. Results showed that the pin possesses bending, tensile and torsional strengths of1706±147, 666±7 and 0.34±0.03 MPa, respectively. The pin degraded at an average weight loss rate of 17.15×10-5 g cm-2 day-1 and released Fe ions at an average concentration of 2.38 ppm. Plastic deformation induced by torsion increased the corrosion rate of the pin from 0.0014 to 0.0137 mm *** maximum pull-out load of the screw prototypes was3800 N with a calculated failure strength by shear load equal to22.2 k N which is higher than the strength of the cortical *** analysis of the rat's blood cells during 60 days of the pin implantation indicated a normal response with low neutrophils/lymphocytes ratio of 0.3-0.5. Iron ion concentration in the rat's blood slightly increased from 55 to 61 ppm without affecting the tissue recovering and healing phase. Histological evaluation confirmed the presence of macrophage cells as a normal response to the released iron particles around the iron section of the pin.

This research was conducted to study the influence of NaHCO3and fertilizer treatments on flooded soils tothe chemistry of soil and rice plant *** experiment was done in a greenhouse using a split-split plot design ofthree factors: two types of soil,three doses of fertilizers and three levels of NaHCO3with three *** firstfactor was two kind of soils Fluvaquent and Calciquert,the factor was without nutrient(blank),macro nutrients,andcompletely nutrients(second macro and micro nutrients),and the third factor was 0 mg/kg,200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kgof NaHCO3or equivalent with 0 mg,1 200 mg and 2 400 mg NaHCO3per *** experimental unit used a pot of 10L capacity and filled with soil mud equivalent with 6 kg of dried *** each of treatment combination mixed into themud soil,two plants of IR-32 variety were grown,and flooded at5 cm high accordingly with growth *** were the growth of tillers,electrical conductivity(E.C.) and *** experiment results showed that the treatment of NaHCO3increased the soluble salt content(E.C.) and soilacidity(pH) during flooding on Calciquerts and *** content of soluble salt decreased to 2.0 mmhos/cm,while pHon Calciquert decreased towards the neutral *** pHon Fluvaquents increased approach to *** treatments of NaHCO3inhibited the tiller growth,either macro fertilizer and completely fertilizer increased thetillers,but did not improve the negative effect of alkalinity due to of NaHCOtreatment.

Situated at an elevation of 905 m above sea level in the Province of North Sumatra, Lake Toba and its surrounding landscapes are regarded as a natural heritage in a certain extent, as a quoted national treasure. Unfortunately degradation of the land and water resources in the watershed along Lake Toba is taking place at an alarming and totally unacceptable rate. The quality of the lake is partly depended on input the quality of the rivers. When compared to the control area the water quality that influenced by the piggeries are highly polluted. It can be concluded that the Salbe River at the downstream of the piggeries has been polluted and apparently it is a serious problem to the catchment area management. It should be noted that the polluted river would influence the water quality of the Lake Toba. Based on calculation, the permissible BOD 5 according to B-river standard is 238 mg/L, it means the river still in B standard but the condition and quality are decreasing continuously. Following the Indonesian health standard the permissible BOD is - 461 mg/L. It means BOD in the river should be reduced 461 mg/L or clean program is needed.

Exotic plant invasion is one of the major causes of species *** many contexts,mountainous forests are the last refuge for native *** are several inventory studies conducted in mountainous and tropical forests in ***,there are no studies yet on the factors that explain the abundance and richness of surveyed naturalized alien *** study investigated whether the number of individuals and abundanceweighted species richness(AWR) of naturalized alien plant species in the hiking-trail of Mount GedePangrango National Park(MGPNP) forest area correlated with leaf traits(specific leaf area(SLA) and leaf thickness) and environmental factors(elevation,slope,and normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)).We showed that leaf thickness and habitat elevation explained the AWR variations of naturalized alien *** did not detect any important effect of leaf traits and environmental factors on the number of individuals per exotic species per *** influence of leaf thickness and habitat elevation indicates the important role of both biotic and abiotic factors on exotic species to develop a high species richness and become an invasive species in the tropical mountain forest ecosystem.

Ekor naga’s leaf (Rhaphidophora pinnata (Lf) Schott) is a type of vines and climbing plant. The leaves are elongated round and hollowed inside. This plant had been using for the treatment of breast cancer. Extraction with percolation method has been done in ekor naga’s leaves with ethanol, and fractionated by nhexane, chloroform and ethyl acetate using liquid-liquid extraction (LLE). Cytotoxicity assay of ethanol extract, n-hexane fraction, chloroform fraction, ethyl acetate fraction and water fraction against MCF-7 cells were done using MTT method (3-(4,5-dimetiltiazol-2-il)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide). Phytochemical screening results showed the presence of the compounds such as triterpenoida/steroid, alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin, and saponin. n-hexane fraction was positive for the presence of triterpenoida/steroid, chloroform fraction containing alkaloids, saponin and triterpenoid;ethyl acetate fraction contained, flavonoid, tannin, and the fraction of water indicated the presence of tannin and saponin. Secondary metabolite compounds in ethanol extract, chloroform fraction and ethyl acetate fraction gave positive results against MCF-7 cells. Cytotoxicity assay of MCF-7 cell line showed that crude ethanol extracts had 112.240 mcg/ml IC50 chloroform fraction IC50 was 59.082 mcg/ml, and ethyl acetate fraction IC50 was 812.663 mcg/ml.

Understanding the relation between spatial heterogeneity and structural rejuvenation is one of the hottest topics in the field of metallic glasses(MGs).In this work,molecular dynamics(MD)simulation is implemented to discover the effects of initial spatial heterogeneity on the level of rejuvenation in the Ni_(80)P_(20)*** this purpose,the samples are prepared with cooling rates of 10^(10) K/s-10^(12) K/s to make glassy alloys with different atomic ***,it is found that the increase in the cooling rate leads the Gaussian-type shear modulus distribution to widen,indicating the aggregations in both elastically soft and hard *** the primary evaluations,the elastostatic loading is also used to transform structural rejuvenation into the atomic *** results indicate that the sample with intermediate structural heterogeneity prepared with 10^(11) K/s exhibits the maximum structural rejuvenation which is due to the fact that the atomic configuration in an intermediate structure contains more potential sites for generating the maximum atomic rearrangement and loosely packed regions under an external *** features of atomic rearrangement and structural changes under the rejuvenation process are discussed in detail.

Subculture Helicoverpa armigera nuclear polyhedrosis virus （HaNPV） is an entomopathogenic virus isolated from cadaver of Helicoverpa armigera larvae, and is successfully produced in Spodoptera litura larvae as an alternate host. These viral agents have been used to control the population of three species insect pests Spodoptera litura, Crocidolomia pavonana and Plutella xyllostella, which were infested in cabbages plantation. The concentration of virus of 4 × 10^7 polyhedra/mL was sprayed in cabbage leaves 24 h before infested of larva and every four days after. The research used randomized design which consisted of one factor （three species of second instar larvae, S. litura, C. pavonana, P. xyllostella） and eight replications. The result showed that the three species of larvae were sensitive against subculture HaNPV infection. The mortality of each larval species （S. litura, C. pavonana and P. xyllostella） was 100%, 97.5% and 98.7%, respectively. Subculture HaNPV can be utilized to control the population of three species of insect pests in cabbage plantation.
