Macromolecular assemblies such as protein complexes and protein/RNA condensates are involved in most fundamental cellular *** arrangement of subunits within these nano-assemblies is critical for their biological function and is determined by the topology of physical contacts within and between the subunits forming the *** the spatial arrangement of these interactions is of central importance to understand their functional and stability *** this concept article,we propose a circuit topology-based formalism to define the topology of a complex consisting of linear polymeric chains with interand intrachain *** apply our method to a system of model polymer chains as well as protein *** show that circuit topology can categorize different forms of chain *** multi-chain circuit topology should aid analysis and predictions of mechanistic and evolutionary principles in the design of macromolecular assemblies.

Objective： In postmenopausal women, an increased leptin concentration and reduced levels of ghrelin and adiponectin were observed. The aim of this study was to evaluate the concentrations of the active form of ghrelin, total ghrelin, leptin receptor, lipoprotein（a）（Lp（a））, and plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 （PAl-l） in postmenopausal women who received oral or transdermal menopausal hormonal therapy （MHT）. Methods： The study involved 76 healthy women： 46 women aged from 44 to 58 years who received oral （26） or transdermal （20） MHT; the control group consisted of 30 women aged from 44 to 54 years who did not receive MHT. The plasma concentrations of total ghrelin, the active form of ghrelin, Lp（a）, and PAI-I：Ag were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA）. The concentration of the leptin receptor was measured by enzyme immunometric assay （EIA）. Results： We observed a significantly higher concentration o~ total ghrelin and the active form of ghrelin in women who received transdermal MHT in comparison with those who took oral MHT. We also found a significantly lower concentration of total ghrelin in women who received oral MHT compared with the control group. A higher concentration of PAl-1 ：Ag was found in the group of women who took transdermal MHT in comparison with those who took oral MHT and with the control group. The differences were statistically significant. Additionally, we found a significant negative correlation between the concentrations of total ghrelin and PAl-1 ：Ag and a positive correlation between the concentrations of total ghrelin and leptin receptor in women who received transdermal MHT. Conclusions： The study showed that women who used transdermal MHT had higher levels of total ghrelin than women who took oral MHT. This indicates a beneficial effect of the transdermal route of MHT. Background： Cross-country skiing （XCS） racing, a popular international winter sport, is complex and challenging from physical, technical, and tactical perspectives. Despite the vast amount of research focusing on this sport, no review has yet addressed the pacing strategies of elite XCS racers or the factors that influence their performance. The aim was to review the scientific literature in an attempt to determine the effects of pacing strategy on the performance of elite XCS racers. Methods： Four electronic databases were searched using relevant subject headings and keywords. Only original research articles published in peerreviewed journals and the English language and addressing performance, biomechanics, physiology, and anthropometry of XCS racers were reviewed. Results： All 27 included articles applied correlative designs to study the effectiveness of different pacing strategies. None of the articles involved the use of an experimental design. Furthermore, potential changes in external conditions （e.g.,weather, ski properties） were not taken into consideration. A comparable number of studies focused on the skating or classical technique. In most cases, positive pacing was observed, with certain indications that higher-level athletes and those with more endurance and strength utilized a more even pacing strategy. The ability to achieve and maintain a long cycle length on all types of terrain was an important determinant of performance in all of the included studies, which was not the case for cycle rate. In general, uphill performance was closely related to overall race performance, with uphill performance being most closely correlated to the success of female skiers and performance on flat terrain being more important for male skiers. Fuel desulfurization is an appealing topic for the chemical industry since severe environmental regulations regarding SO_2 emissions have been legislated in many countries. In order to reduce the amount of sulfur-containing compounds in fuels,responsible for high SO_x emission levels,a green chemistry approach is compulsory. In this paper,vanadium salen and salophen complexes were used in the oxidation of a model aromatic sulfide,such as dibenzothiophene( DBT),in the presence of H_2O_2 as green oxidant. The oxidative process was successfully coupled with the extraction of the oxidized compounds by ionic liquids. The system resulted highly selective for sulfide oxidation,showing poor reactivity toward the oxidation of alkenes and allowing a significant reduction of S content in a model benzine. To note,the use of microwave in place of standard heating allowed to obtain 98% of DBT oxidation and almost complete sulfur extraction in the model fuel in 1000 s. For these reasons,this system was considered an easy,rapid and clean process to achieve fuel desulfurization.

The results show a relatively high prevalence of sedentary behaviors, unhealthy weight, lower fitness levels, and lower levels of engagement in physical exercise and fitness activities than antici- pated.
