Land use and cover change and influencing factor analysis in the Shiyang River Basin,China

Land use and cover change(LUCC)is the most direct manifestation of the interaction between anthropological activities and the natural environment on Earth's surface,with significant impacts on the environment and social economy.Rapid economic development and climate change have resulted in significant changes in land use and cover.The Shiyang River Basin,located in the eastern part of the Hexi Corridor in China,has undergone significant climate change and LUCC over the past few decades.In this study,we used the random forest classification to obtain the land use and cover datasets of the Shiyang River Basin in 1991,1995,2000,2005,2010,2015,and 2020 based on Landsat images.We validated the land use and cover data in 2015 from the random forest classification results(this study),the high-resolution dataset of annual global land cover from 2000 to 2015(AGLC-2000-2015),the global 30 m land cover classification with a fine classification system(GLC_FCS30),and the first Landsat-derived annual China Land Cover Dataset(CLCD)against ground-truth classification results to evaluate the accuracy of the classification results in this study.Furthermore,we explored and compared the spatiotemporal patterns of LUCC in the upper,middle,and lower reaches of the Shiyang River Basin over the past 30 years,and employed the random forest importance ranking method to analyze the influencing factors of LUCC based on natural(evapotranspiration,precipitation,temperature,and surface soil moisture)and anthropogenic(nighttime light,gross domestic product(GDP),and population)factors.The results indicated that the random forest classification results for land use and cover in the Shiyang River Basin in 2015 outperformed the AGLC-2000-2015,GLC_FCS30,and CLCD datasets in both overall and partial validations.Moreover,the classification results in this study exhibited a high level of agreement with the ground truth features.From 1991 to 2020,the area of bare land exhibited a decreasing trend,with changes primarily occurring in the middle and lower

LS-SVM and Monte Carlo methods based reliability analysis for settlement of soft clayey foundation

A method which adopts the combination of least squares support vector machine（LS-SVM） and Monte Carlo（MC） simulation is used to calculate the foundation settlement reliability.When using LS-SVM,choosing the training dataset and the values for LS-SVM parameters is the key.In a representative sense,the orthogonal experimental design with four factors and five levels is used to choose the inputs of the training dataset,and the outputs are calculated by using fast Lagrangian analysis continua（FLAC）.The decimal ant colony algorithm（DACA） is also used to determine the parameters.Calculation results show that the values of the two parameters,and δ2 have great effect on the performance of LS-SVM.After the training of LS-SVM,the inputs are sampled according to the probabilistic distribution,and the outputs are predicted with the trained LS-SVM,thus the reliability analysis can be performed by the MC method.A program compiled by Matlab is employed to calculate its reliability.Results show that the method of combining LS-SVM and MC simulation is applicable to the reliability analysis of soft foundation settlement.

The cultivation of epilepsy neurosurgeons:requirements and challenges

Epilepsy surgery has been accepted as an effective treatment in drug-resistant focal epilepsy. However, the number of epilepsy neurosurgeons is not enough in China compared with the huge demand. The content of epilepsy neurosurgeon cultivation includes surgery itself as well as presurgical evaluation. In this article, we review not only different categories of epilepsy surgeries but also the presurgical evaluation approaches including non-invasive methods, such as semiology analysis, high-resolution structural and functional imaging techniques, scalp electroencephalography monitoring as well as invasive methods, such as electrocorticography (ECoG) and stereotactic electroencephalography (SEEG). We also discuss the importance of learning each method briefly. In addition, we suggest that epilepsy neurosurgeons should have a solid structural and functional anatomy basis as it plays pivotal role in localizing epileptogenic zone. Epilepsy neurosurgeons should also be familiar with the staged presurgical evaluation starting from the most preliminary examinations and progressing to more complex and invasive methods. During the diagnosis and therapeutic procedures, collaboration between epilepsy neurosurgeons and other specialists is essential. At last, the necessity of epilepsy neurosurgeon cultivation has been emphasized.

目的:探讨多维度药物护理辅助甲泼尼龙琥珀酸钠治疗神经根型颈椎病急性疼痛的效果。方法:择取2021年12月—2022年12月经本院收治神经根型脊椎病急性疼痛患者90例开展研究,随机分为对照组及观察组,每组45例。两组患者均行甲泼尼龙琥珀酸钠治疗,对照组予以常规护理,观察组于对照组基础上施以多维度药物护理,比较两组急性疼痛缓解情况及睡眠质量、应对方式、生活质量及不良事件。结果:护理后,两组VAS评分、PSQI评分低于护理前,且观察组低于对照组(P<0.05);两组MCSQ中屈服、回避评分低于护理前,面对评分高于护理前,且观察组屈服、回避评分低于对照组,面对评分高于对照组(P<0.05);两组GQOLI-74评分高于护理前,且观察组高于对照组(P<0.05);观察组不良事件发生率为2.22%,低于对照组的20.00%(P<0.05)。结论:神经根型颈椎病急性疼痛患者行甲泼尼龙琥珀酸钠治疗时辅以多维度药物护理,可有效缓解急性疼痛,改善睡眠质量,积极转变应对方式,提高生活质量,降低不良事件发生概率,值得临床应用。

目的:探讨舒适护理在颈椎病前路减压融合术(ACDF)术后吞咽障碍患者服用地塞米松的效果。方法:选择2020年1月—2022年5月本院收治的经地塞米松治疗的ACDF术后吞咽障碍患者100例作为研究对象,按随机数字表法分为对照组及观察组,每组50例。对照组施以常规护理,观察组施以舒适护理,比较两组吞咽功能、舒适度、心理状态及生活质量,并发症发生率。结果:观察组Bazaz、咽喉部肿胀程度评分低于对照组(P<0.05);观察组舒适度为92.00%,高于对照组的76.00%(P<0.05);观察组HAMA评分低于对照组,SWAL-QOL评分高于对照组(P<0.05);观察组并发症发生率为4.00%,低于对照组的18.00%(P<0.05)。结论:对颈椎病ACDF术后吞咽障碍行地塞米松治疗患者实施舒适护理,可改善吞咽功能,提升舒适度,获有良好心理状态及生活质量,且并发症发生率较低。

A splice site mutation in the FvePHP gene is associated with leaf development and f lowering time in woodland strawberry

Leaves and f lowers are crucial for the growth and development of higher plants.In this study we identified a mutant with narrow leaf lets and early f lowering(nlef)in an ethyl methanesulfonate-mutagenized population of woodland strawberry(Fragaria vesca)and aimed to identify the candidate gene.Genetic analysis revealed that a single recessive gene,nlef,controlled the mutant phenotype.We found that FvH4_1g25470,which encodes a putative DNA polymeraseαwith a polymerase and histidinol phosphatase domain(PHP),might be the candidate gene,using bulked segregant analysis with whole-genome sequencing,molecular markers,and cloning analyses.A splice donor site mutation(C to T)at the 5-end of the second intron led to an erroneous splice event that reduced the expression level of the full-length transcript of FvePHP in mutant plants.FvePHP was localized in the nucleus and was highly expressed in leaves.Silencing of FvePHP using the virus-induced gene silencing method resulted in partial developmental defects in strawberry leaves.Overexpression of the FvePHP gene can largely restore the mutant phenotype.The expression levels of FveSEP1,FveSEP3,FveAP1,FveFUL,and FveFT were higher in the mutants than those in‘Yellow Wonder’plants,probably contributing to the early f lowering phenotype in mutant plants.Our results indicate that mutation in FvePHP is associated with multiple developmental pathways.These results aid in understanding the role of DNA polymerase in strawberry development.

Mitogenomic Conservation Genetics of the Critically Endangered Liaoning Clawed Salamander

The Liaoning clawed salamander(Onychodactylus zhaoermii)is an endemic and critically endangered amphibian species of China.To study the population genetics of natural populations of this species,32 samples were collected from six different locations,and the mitochondrial genome was sequenced.Population genetic analyses showed that the Liaoning clawed salamander is composed of only one radialized cluster with ultralow nucleotide diversity.Late Pleistocene climate cooling(-100 to-30 kya)may have reduced the effective population size of the Liaoning clawed salamander,and the subsequent temperature increase(~25 kya to present)provided the opportunity for population expansion.Because of heat sensitivity,the maximum temperature of the prebreeding period,especially from March to May,is very important for the surface environment living in the Liaoning clawed salamander.Three suitable regions were predicted by the MaxEnt model,and the largest suitable region(approximately 899 km2)was at the four-county boundary area and was larger than the present’Natural Conservation Community of the Liaoning Clawed Salamander’.To ensure more effective protection of all Liaoning clawed salamanders,we suggest extending the current’Natural Conservation Community of the Liaoning Clawed Salamander’to include the four-county boundary area.

Objective:MRI-negative focal epilepsy is one of the most challenging cases in epilepsy surgical treatment.Many epilepsy centers recommend intracranial electroencephalography for MRI-negative cases,especially neocortical epilepsy.This retrospective study aimed to explore whether intracranial monitoring is mandatory in MRI-negative neocortical epilepsy surgery and the factors that significantly influence the decision to perform intracranial recording or not.Methods:In this study,consecutive surgical patients with focal MRI-negative neocortical epilepsy were recruited.All patients underwent routine preoperative evaluation according to the dedicated protocol of our epilepsy center to determine the treatment plan.Patients were divided into two groups according to the surgical strategy:a direct group and a stereo-encephalography(SEEG)-guided group.History of epilepsy,seizure frequency,interictal and ictal EEG data,PET data,PET/MRI co-registration data,neuropathological findings,and surgical outcomes were compared between the two groups.Multivariate analysis was performed to identify factors influencing the decision to implement SEEG monitoring.Results:Sixty-four patients were included in this study,of whom 19 and 45 underwent direct and SEEG-guided cortical resection,respectively.At an average follow-up of 3.9 years postoperatively,56 patients(87.5%) had Engel class I results without permanent neurological deficits.Surgical outcomes were not significantly different between the direct and SEEG-guided groups(94.7% vs.84.4%).There were significant differences between the two groups in the degree of hypometabolism(focal vs.non-focal,p<0.01) and pathological subtype(FCD II vs.others,p=0.03).Multivariate analysis revealed that the degree of hypometabolism(OR 0.01,95% CI 0.00-0.15,p=0.001) was the only independent factor affecting surgical strategy.Conclusions:Careful selection of patients with MRI-negative neocortical epilepsy may yield favorable outcomes with direct cortical resection without intracranial monitoring;PET/MRI

为利用吸水树脂快速固化高含水率疏浚淤泥,以树脂和淤泥直接拌和、树脂按不同方式布置于淤泥中的试验为基础,研究树脂使用方式对淤泥状态和质量含水率变化的影响。试验结果表明:树脂与淤泥直接拌和可以提高淤泥的液限和塑限,并能快速将淤泥由流态转变为可塑态,方便淤泥的转运;吸水树脂沿水平或垂直方向布置在淤泥中,能快速将淤泥质量含水率由初始的1.3倍液限降至液限含水率附近;吸水饱和的树脂在30℃左右的环境中烘干后可以循环利用以降低成本;不同的使用方式的吸水树脂对不同状态的高含水率疏浚淤泥的固化效果均较好。

Numerical simulation of landscape evolution and mountain uplift history constrain——A case study from the youthful stage mountains around the central Hexi Corridor,NE Tibetan Plateau

Landscape evolution models(LEMs)are essential tools for analyzing tectonic-climate interactions and reproducing landform-shaping processes.In this study we used a LEM to simulate the evolution of the mountains from the central Hexi Corridor in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau,where the climate is arid and the surface processes are relatively uniform.However,there are pronounced differences in the topography between the mountains around the central Hexi Corridor.The East Jintanan Shan,West Jintanan Shan and Heli Shan are located in the northern part of the corridor;and the Yumu Shan in the southern part.Firstly,several representative areas were selected from these mountains to analyze the topographic characteristics,including the uniform valley spacing,local relief,and the outlet number.Secondly,a LEM for these areas was constructed using the Landlab platform,and the landscape evolution was simulated.With uniform valley spacing and other topographic characteristics as the criteria,we compared the realistic and simulated terrain for different model ages.Finally,based on the similarity of the simulated and realistic terrain,we estimated the timing of the initial uplift and the uplift rate of the four mountain ranges.The results are consistent with previous geological and geomorphological records from these youthful stage mountains that have not yet reached a steady state.Our findings demonstrate that LEMs combined with topographic characteristics are a reliable means of constraining the timing of the initial uplift and the uplift rate of the youthful stage mountain.Our approach can potentially be applied to other youthful stage mountains and it may become a valuable tool in tectonic geomorphology research.
