studies of direction of photoisomerization of retinal,retinonitrile,a- retinonitrile and a trienenitrile analog in different solvents with varying wave- lengths of excitation and reaction temperature led to the conclusion that the well known solvent dependent photochemistry of retinoids is due to selective excitation of the hydrogen bonded species.

Mutations in the Contactin-associated protein-like 2(CNTNAP2)gene are associated with autism spectrum disorder(AsD),and ectodomain shedding of the CNTNAP2 protein plays a role in its ***,key enzymes involved in the C-terminal cleavage of CNTNAP2 remain largely unknown,and the effect of AsD-associated mutations on this process and its role in AsD pathogenesis remain *** this report we showed that CNTNAP2 undergoes sequential cleavages by furin,ADAM10/17-dependent a-secretase and presenilindependent *** identified that the cleavage sites of ADAM10 and ADAM17 in CNTNAP2 locate at its C-terminal residue I79 and L96,and the main a-cleavage product C79 by ADAM10 is required for the subsequent y-secretase cleavage to generate CNTNAP2 intracellular domain(CICD).AsD-associated CNTNAP2 mutations impair the a-cleavage to generate C79,and the inhibition leads to AsDIlike repetitive and social behavior abnormalties in the Cntnap2l1254T knock-in ***,exogenous expression of 79 improves autism-ike phenotypes in the Cntnap2^(11254T) knock-in and Cntnap2^(-/-)knockout *** data demonstrates that the a-secretase is essential for CNTNAP2 processing and its *** study indicates that inhibition of the cleavage by pathogenic mutations underlies AsD pathogenesis,and upregulation of its C-terminal fragments could have therapeutical potentials for AsD treatment.

Thermal history of Cambrian Burgess shale-Type Deposits:New Insights from the Early Cambrian Chengjiang and Qingjiang Fossils of south China

Burgess shale-type deposits provide a wealth of information on the early evolution of *** that are central to understanding the exceptional preservation of these biotas and the paleoenvironments they inhabited may be obscured by the post-depositional alteration due to metamorphism at depth and weathering near the Earth’s *** over 50 Cambrian BsT biotas,the Chengjiang and Qingjiang deposits are well known for their richness of soft-bodied taxa,fidelity of preservation,and Early Cambrian *** alteration via weathering has been well-investigated,the thermal maturity of the units bearing the two biotas has not yet been *** we investigate peak metamorphic temperatures of the two deposits using two independent *** gradient analyses demonstrate that the most fossiliferous sections of the Chengjiang were buried at a maximum depth of∼8500 m in the Early Triassic,corresponding to∼300°C,while the type area of the Qingjiang biota was buried at a maximum depth of∼8700 m in the Early Jurassic,corresponding to∼240°*** geothermometer analyses of fossil carbonaceous material demonstrate that peak temperatures varied across localities with different burial *** two productive sections of the Chengjiang biota were thermally altered at a peak temperature of approximately 300°C,and the main locality of the Qingjiang biota experienced a peak temperature of 238±22°*** results from two independent methods are *** BsT deposits for which thermal maturity has been documented,the Qingjiang biota is the least thermally mature,and therefore holds promise for enriching our understanding of BsT deposits.

Porous materials present significant advantages for absorbing radioactive isotopes in nuclear waste *** improve absorption efficiency in nuclear waste treatment,a thorough understanding of the diffusion-advection process within porous structures is essential for material *** this study,we present advancements in the volumetric lattice Boltzmann method(VLBM)for modeling and simulating pore-scale diffusion-advection of radioactive isotopes within geopolymer porous *** structures are created using the phase field method(PFM)to precisely control pore *** our VLBM approach,we introduce a concentration field of an isotope seamlessly coupled with the velocity field and solve it by the time evolution of its particle population *** address the computational intensity inherent in the coupled lattice Boltzmann equations for velocity and concentration fields,we implement graphics processing unit(GPu)*** of the developed model involves examining the flow and diffusion fields in porous ***,good agreement is observed for both the velocity field from VLBM and multiphysics object-oriented simulation environment(MOOsE),and the concentration field from VLBM and the finite difference method(FDM).Furthermore,we investigate the effects of background flow,species diffusivity,and porosity on the diffusion-advection behavior by varying the background flow velocity,diffusion coefficient,and pore volume fraction,***,all three parameters exert an influence on the diffusion-advection *** background flow and diffusivity markedly accelerate the process due to increased advection intensity and enhanced diffusion capability,***,increasing the porosity has a less significant effect,causing a slight slowdown of the diffusion-advection process due to the expanded pore *** comprehensive parametric study provides valuable insights into the kinetics of isotope

For the applications of the frequency comb in microresonators,it is essential to obtain a fully frequency-stabilized microcomb laser *** this study,we present a system for generating a fully atom-referenced stabilized soliton *** pump light around 1560.48 nm is locked to an ultra-low-expansion(uLE)*** pump light is then frequency-doubled and referenced to the atomic transition *** repetition rate of the soliton microcomb is injection-locked to an atomic-clockstabilized radio frequency(RF)source,leading to mhz stabilization at 1 *** a result,all comb lines have been frequencystabilized based on the atomic reference and the uLE cavity,achieving a very high precision of approximately 18 hz at 1 s,corresponding to the frequency stability of 9.5×10^(-14).Our approach provides a fully stabilized microcomb experiment scheme with no requirement of f-2f technique,which could be easily implemented and generalized to various photonic platforms,thus paving the way towards the ultraprecise optical sources for high precision spectroscopy.

A new dinucleating 24-membered hexaazadiphenol macrocyclic ligand, 3,6,9,17,20, 23-hexaaza-29,30- dihydroxy-13,27-dimethyl-tricycl [23, 3, 1, 1 11,15] triaconta -1(28), 11,13,15(30),25, 26-hexaene, BDBPh, was synthesized by the NaBh4 reduction of the schiff-base obtained from the [2+2] condensation between diethylenetriamine and diformyl -p-cresol. The structure was characterized by elemental analysis, 1hNMR and FAB-Ms. The synthetic method was also discussed.

The invasion of nonnative plants is considered one of the main threats to the structure and function of North American ecosystems. Moreover, they can alter ecosystem processes and reduce biodiversity. In arid and semi-arid region of North America, the species of European annual grass Bromus tectorum L. is an ou.s.a.ding example of these problems, which not only increase the fire density and change the fire regime, but replace native communities. Therefore, there are amount of researches on B. tectorum, including resource acquisition, water use efficiency and growth. Whereas the relevant research on the morphology of diaspore is scare. Diaspores have a fundamental role in seed germination and seedling establishment. Besides, as an important link between different generations, diaspores have a vital significance on individual reproduction and population extension. hence, dias- pores under selection for studying have an important implication. This study compares differences in seed mor- phology for Bromus tectorum collected from the united states, Kazakhstan, and Xinjiang of China. The following indices of B. tectorum diaspores were analyzed： size, thickness of covering layers, and micromorphological char- acteristics of the base, middle and transition area of diaspores as well as of the awn. Micromorphology of the lemma and the cross-section of the diaspore were observed by scanning electron microscopy. Results showed that thick- ness of the lemma and the palea of diaspores from B. tectorum-infested grasslands in the united states were re- duced （P〈0.05）, likely because of environmental influences. This reduction facilitated the germination of diaspores and lowered the resistance of B. tectorum to adverse environmental conditions. The length of the awn also in- creased significantly （P〈0.05）, which helped in dispersal and anchoring of diaspores. Therefore, B. tectorum adapted ecologically to its new environment in the united states by strengthening its establishment a

We present the interstellar scintillation analysis of fast radio burst(FRB)20220912A during its extremely active episode in 2022using data from the Five-hundred-meter Aperture spherical Radio Telescope(FAsT).We detect a scintillation arc in the FRB’s secondary spectrum,which describes the power in terms of the scattered FRB signals’time delay and Doppler *** arc indicates that the scintillation is caused by a highly localized *** analysis favors a Milky Way origin of the ionized interstellar medium(IIsM)for the localized scattering medium but cannot rule out a host galaxy *** present our method for detecting the scintillation arc,which can be applied generally to sources with irregularly spaced bursts or *** methods could help shed light on the complex interstellar environment surrounding the FRBs and in our Galaxy.

Inflammasomes are large protein complexes that play a major role in sensing inflammatory signals and triggering the innate immune *** inflammasome complex has three major components:an upstream sensor molecule that is connected to a downstream effector protein such as caspase-1 through the adapter protein *** formation typically occurs in response to infectious agents or cellular *** active inflammasome then triggers caspase-1 activation,followed by the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines and pyroptotic cell *** inflammasome activation and activity contribute to the development of diabetes,cancer,and several cardiovascular and neurodegenerative *** a result,recent research has increasingly focused on investigating the mechanisms that regulate inflammasome assembly and activation,as well as the potential of targeting inflammasomes to treat various *** clinical trials are currently underway to evaluate the therapeutic potential of several distinct inflammasome-targeting ***,understanding how different inflammasomes contribute to disease pathology may have significant implications for developing novel therapeutic *** this article,we provide a summary of the biological and pathological roles of inflammasomes in health and *** also highlight key evidence that suggests targeting inflammasomes could be a novel strategy for developing new disease-modifying therapies that may be effective in several conditions.
