Groundwater Flow Simulation and its Application in Groundwater Resource Evaluation in the North China Plain,China

The purpose of this study is to establish a 3D groundwater flow modelling for evaluating groundwater resources of the North China Plain. First, the North China Plain was divided into three aquifers vertically through a characterization of hydrogeological conditions. Groundwater model software GMS was used for modeling to divide the area of simulation into a regular network of 164 rows and 148 lines. This model was verified through fitting of the observed and the simulated groundwater flow fields at deep and shallow layers and comparison between the observed and simulated hydrographs at 64 typical observation wells. Furthermore, water budget analysis was also performed during the simulation period （2002-2003）. Results of the established groundwater flow model showed that the average annual groundwater recharge of the North China Plain during 1991 to 2003 was 256.68x10s m3/yr with safe yield of groundwater resources up to 213.49x10s m3/yr, in which safe yield of shallow groundwater and that of deep groundwater was up to 191.65x10s m3/yr and 22.64x10s m~/yr respectively. Finally, this model was integrated with proposal for groundwater withdrawal in the study area after commencement of water supply by South-North Water Transfer Project, aiming to predict the changing trend of groundwater regime. As indicated by prediction results, South-North Water Transfer Project, which is favorable for effective control of expansion and intensification of existing depression cone, would play a positive role in alleviation of short supply of groundwater in the North China Plain as well as maintenance and protection of groundwater.

A new merged dataset of global ocean chlorophyll a concentration with higher spatial and temporal coverage

Water retention behavior and shear strength of artificially cemented granite residual soil subjected to free drying

Considerable research efforts have been devoted to increase phosphorus(P)availability during aerobic ***,there is little discussion weather the dissolved organic carbon(DOC)controls the transformation among ***,we investigated the changes in DOC compositions and P-fractions during biochar-amended composting(wet weight basis,5%and 10%).TP content continuously increased since the'concentration effect'during aerobic ***_(3)-Pi,NaOH-Pi and HCl-Pi were main P-fractions,and biochar can improve P-bioavailability by transforming NaOH-Pi and HCl-Pi into NaHCO_(3)-*** equation models(SEMs)indicated that biochar enhanced the P-bioavailability through regulating the decomposition of *** results at least hint that the activation mechanism on P under the influence of DOC during biochar-amended composting.

Improved corrosion resistance of dental Ti50Zr alloy with(TiZr)N coating in fluoridated acidic artificial saliva

The electrochemical corrosion behavior of the dental Ti50 Zr alloy with and without nanocrystalline(TiZr)N coating was comparatively investigated in artificial saliva solutions with different pH values and fluoride ion concentrations. The chemical stability of the passive films on the coated and non-coated Ti50 Zr alloy was evaluated by calculating passive film thickness. The chemical compositions and valence structures of the passive films were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The results show that the(TiZr)N-coated alloy displays distinctly decreased corrosion rate and increased impedance compared with Ti50 Zr alloy in nonfluoridated and fluoridated acidic solutions. Particularly, in the solution of pH = 3.9 and 0.15% NaF-containing, the corrosion protection efficiency of(TiZr)N coating reaches90%. The excellent corrosion resistance of the coated alloy is attributed to that the nanocrystallines in(TiZr)N coating decreases micropores and crack defects, which strongly impedes the corrosive ions diffusion and electrode process at Ti substrate/coating interface. Meanwhile,(TiZr)N coating shows good passivation behavior in acidic solution and active–passive transition behavior in fluoridated acidic solution. The coated Ti50 Zr alloy with high chemical stability has potential application prospect for dental implants.

Dynamic Strain Aging in a Newly Developed Ni-Co-Base Superalloy with Low Stacking Fault Energy

Characteristics of dynamic strain aging （DSA） in a Ni-Co-base superalloy were studied by tensile tests at temperatures ranging from 250 ℃ to 550 ℃ and strain rates ranging from 3 x 10-5 to 8 x 10-4 s-1. Serrated flow in the tensile stress-strain curves was observed in the temperature range from 300 ℃ to 500 ℃. Normal DSA behavior was found at temperatures ranging from 300 ℃ to 350 ℃, while inverse DSA behavior was observed at temperatures ranging from 400 ℃ to 500 ℃. The yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, elongation, work hardening index, and fracture features were not affected by temperature and strain rates in DSA regime. Negative strain-rate sensitivity of flow stress was observed in DSA regime. The analysis suggests that the ordering of the substitutional solutes around some defects like mobile dislocations and stacking faults due to the thermal activated process may cause the serrations on the tensile curves.

Possible Habitats for NH_(3),NH_(2)D,H^(13)CN,HC^(15)N,SO,and C^(18)O in the Initial Conditions of High-mass Star Formation

The initial condition of high-mass star formation is a complex area of study because of the high densities(n_(H_(2))>106cm^(-3))and low temperatures(T_(dust)<18 K)*** such conditions,many molecules become depleted from the gas phase by freezing out onto dust ***,the N-bearing and deuterated species could remain gaseous under these extreme conditions,suggesting that they may serve as ideal *** this paper,using the Plateau de Bure Interferometer and Very Large Array observations at 1.3 mm,3.5 mm,and 1.3 cm,we investigate the possible habitats for NH_(3),NH_(2)D,H^(13)CN,HC^(15)N,SO,and C^(18)O in eight massive precluster and protocluster clumps G18.17,G18.21,G23.97N,G23.98,G23.44,G23.97S,G25.38,and *** found that the NH3cores are in good agreement with the 3.5 mm peak emission,but the NH_(3)is much more extended than the 3.5 mm emission *** SO distributions agree well with the 3.5 mm peaks for the evolved star formation stage,but we did not detect any SO emission in the four earliest star formation sources.C^(18)O is a poor tracer in conditions of the cold(■18 K)and dense(■10^(4)cm^(-3))cores,e.g.,the prestellar *** also found that the NH_(2)D cores are mainly located in the temperature range of 13.0-20.0 K,and the NH_(2)D lines may be strongly depleted above 20 K.
