Differential tectonic evolution and formation mechanism of three subsags in Wenchang Sag of Pearl River Mouth Basin,South China Sea

Notable differences in the structural characteristics and evolution of three adjacent sub-sags,i.e.,the Wenchang sub-sags A,B,and C,on the downthrown side of the Zhu IlI South Fault in the Wenchang Sag,are significant as they affect the formation and distribution of the oil and gas in these three ***,the differences in their tectonic evolutions and formation mechanisms have not yet been adequately *** this paper,stress analysis,equilibrium profiles,and paleogeomorphic restora-tion,are used to investigate the dynamic settings,formation mechanisms,and influencing factors of the structural deformation related to the formation of the Wenchang Sag based on interpretation of seismic *** results of the stress analysis suggest clockwise deflection of the regional tensile stress direction from a WNW-ESE trend during the Early Paleocene to NW-SE and NNW-SSE trends during the Eocene,to a nearly N-S trend during the Oligocene,and finally to a NNE-SSW trend during the *** clockwise rotation of the regional tensile stress direction led to the formation of a dextral strike-slip stress component parallel to the NE-trending Zhu I South *** strike-slip stress component formed a releasing bend in sub-sag A,and may be associated with the continuous subsidence of a thick sedimentary layer in sub-sag *** also created a restraining bend in sub-sag B,which underwent multiple structural inversions during its extension and subsidence and has a relatively s mall sedimentary *** double restraining bend in sub-sag C is considered to have been strongly uplifted and eroded in response to this strike-slip stress *** obvious structural inversions in sub-sag B are iden-tified in this *** structural inversions correspond to the last four regional tectonic *** interpretation suggests that the formation of the structural inversions was likely related to the strong tensile stress and the small intersection angle between

Structural characteristics and evolution of the South Yellow Sea Basin since Indosinian

Based on the seismic data gathered in past years and the correlation between the sea and land areas of the Lower Yangtze Platform,the structural characteristics of the South Yellow Sea Basin since the Indosinian tectonic movement is studied in this *** stages of structural deformation can be distinguished in the South Yellow Sea Basin since the *** first stage,Late Indosinian to Early Yanshanian, was dominated by foreland deformation including both the uplifting and subsidence stages under an intensively compressional *** second stage,which is called the huangqiao Event in the middle Yanshanian,was a change for stress fields from compression to *** in the third stage (the Sanduo Event)in the Late Himalayan,the basin developed a depression in the Neogene-Quatemary after rifting in the Late *** long-time evolution controlled 3 basin formation stages from a foreland basin,then a fault basin to a final depression *** conclusion,since the Indosinian,the South Yellow Sea Basin has experienced compressional fold and thrust,collisional orogen,compressional and tensional pulsation,strike-slip,extensional fault block and inversion structures,compression and *** NE,NEE,nearly EW and NW trending structures developed in the *** west to east,the structural trend changed from NEE to near EW to *** from north to south,they changed from NEE to near EW with a strong-weak-strong zoning ***,the marine and terrestrial facies basins show a "seesaw"pattern with fold and thrust in the early stages,which is strong in the north and weak in the south and an extensional fault in later stages,which is strong in the north and weak in the *** the marine facies'basin,thrust deformation is more prevailing in the upper structural layer than that in the lower *** tectonic mechanism in the South Yellow Sea Basin is mainly affected by the collision between the Yangtze and North China

A novel weld-pool-length monitoring method based on pixel analysis in plasma arc additive manufacturing

The real-time monitoring of the weld pool during deposition is important for automatic control in plasma arc additive *** obtain a high deposition accuracy,it is essential to maintain a stable weld pool *** this study,a novel passive visual method is proposed to measure the weld pool *** the proposed method,the image quality was improved by designing a special visual system that employed an endoscope and a *** also includes pixel brightness-based and gradient-based algorithms that can adaptively detect feature points at the boundary when the weld pool geometry *** algorithm can also be applied to materials with different solidification *** was performed to measure the real weld pool length in world coordinates,and outlier rejection was performed to increase the accuracy of the ***,tests were carried out on the intersection component,and the results showed that the proposed method performed well in tracking the changing weld pool length and was applicable to the real-time monitoring of different types of materials.

The coarse-grained discrete element method(DEM)is probably a feasible option for simulating an actual drum-type biomass boiler,which contains over 10 million cylinder particles.A multi-level study was conducted based on particle and coarse-grained level data to evaluate the adequacy of the coarse-grained approach in terms of geometrical characteristics,kinematic features,and dynamic *** scaling laws for contact parameters were used and compared during the *** results show that the coarse-grained approach can accurately predict the positions of the free surface and active-passive interface,the mixing index,and the orientation *** in the velocity fields may occur due to the worse flowability of coarse-grained particles near the free *** efficiency is significantly improved by the coarse-grained model compared with the corresponding original case(the same DEM code without a coarse-grained model was used for the original simulations).

Hybrid tri-memristor hyperchaotic map and application in Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Nets

Oil and gas resources are short in Pakistan and no commercially viable oil and gas sources have been yet discovered in its offshore areas up to *** this study,the onshore-offshore stratigraphic correlation and seismic data interpretation were conducted to determine the oil and gas resource potential in the Offshore Indus Basin,*** on the comprehensive analysis of the results and previous data,it is considered that the Cretaceous may widely exist and three sets of source rocks may be developed in the Offshore Indus *** presence of Miocene mudstones has been proven by drilling to be high-quality source rocks,while the Cretaceous and Paleocene–Eocene mudstones are potential source ***-lithologic traps are developed in the northwestern part of the basin affected by the strike-slip faults along Murray ***,the Cretaceous and Paleocene–Eocene source rocks are thick and are slightly affected by volcanic ***,it can be inferred that the northwestern part of Offshore Indus Basin enjoys good prospects of oil and gas resources.

Advancing high-voltage stability of layered sodium-ion oxides represents a pivotal avenue for their progress in energy storage *** this,a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms underpinning their structural deterioration at elevated voltages remains insufficiently *** this study,we unveil a layer delamination phenomenon of Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.3)Mn_(0.7)O_(2)(NNM)within the 2.0-4.3 V voltage,attributed to considerable volumetric fluctuations along the c-axis and lattice oxygen reactions induced by the simultaneous Ni^(3+)/Ni^(4+)and anion redox *** introducing Mg doping to diminished Ni-O antibonding,the anion oxidation-reduction reactions are effectively mitigated,and the structural integrity of the P2 phase remains firmly intact,safeguarding active sites and precluding the formation of novel *** Na_(0.67)Mg_(0.05)Ni_(0.25)Mn_(0.7)O_(2)(NMNM-5)exhibits a specific capacity of100.7 mA h g^(-1),signifying an 83%improvement compared to the NNM material within the voltage of2.0-4.3 *** investigation underscores the intricate interplay between high-voltage stability and structural degradation mechanisms in layered sodium-ion oxides.

Effect of Mo and cold forging deformation on strength and ductility of cobalt-based alloy L605

Mo element was added to cobalt-based alloy L605,and cold forging deformation was *** effects of the addition and cold forging deformation on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the alloy were studied by thermodynamic calculation,electron backscatter diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,and X-ray *** stacking fault energy(SFE)of the alloy decreased after the addition,and the formation of stacking faults and intersections were promoted to improve the strength and *** tensile strength of the alloy with Mo increased from 1190 to 1702 MPa after 24%cold deformation,producing significant work *** strengthening mechanism is strain-induced martensitic transformation(SIMT)and deformation *** alloy,combined with Mo and after 24%deformation,had both high strength and ductility in comparison with the original cobalt-based alloy *** is attributed to the lower SFE which caused the increase in stacking fault *** the tensile process,theε-hcp phase was easily generated at the stacking fault to reduce the stress concentration and increase the *** SIMT by adjusting the density of stacking faults can improve the mechanical properties of cobalt-based ***ε-hcp phase,the interaction between deformation twins and dislocations,and the interaction between e-hcp phases during cold forging deformation caused local stress concentration,lowering ductility and toughness.
