Background: Central lymph node dissection (CLND) for papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) allows correct pathologic staging of lymph nodes and planning of postoperative management. The purpose of this study was to determine the number of the lymph nodes in the CLND and the relationship to presence of chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis (CLT) and thymic tissue (TT). Methods: Total thyroidectomy and CLND materials from 153 patients with PTC were included in this study. Two histopathologic features (presence of CLT and TT) were evaluated for their value in adequacy of CLND. Results: Histopathologic examination revealed CLT and TT in CLND materials in 70 (46%) and 63 (41%) patients, respectively. Total number of lymph nodes in CLND materials was significantly higher in CLT (+) and TT (+) groups (p Conclusions: Our study demonstrates that presence of CLT in thyroid gland has been associated with higher number of central lymph nodes mainly due to increased number of benign hyperplastic lymph nodes. it may be possible to conclude that upper limit of lymph nodes for satisfactory CLND would be higher to correctly evaluate central lymph node status in existing staging systems if specimens have CLT. Results of this study also show that the presence of TT in surgical materials may represent the adequacy of CLND.

This research investigated the removal capacity of polymeric sub-micron ion-exchange resins(SMR) for removal of lead, copper, zinc, and nickel from natural waters in competition with natural organic matter(NOM). Polymeric SMR particles were created and tested to ensure that they were adequately dispersed in the solution. They removed little NOM(10%or less) from river water and wastewater, indicating that competition from NOM was not a major concern. SMR were able to remove 82% ± 0.2% of lead, 46% ± 0.6% of copper, 55% ±20% of zinc, and 17% ± 2% of nickel from river water spiked with 500 μg/L of each. Similarly,in wastewater, they were able to remove 86% ± 0.1% of lead, 38% ± 0.8% of copper, 28% ± 1%of zinc, and 11% ± 1% of nickel.

Natural organic matter（NOM）, present in natural waters and wastewater, decreases adsorption of micropollutants, increasing treatment costs. This research investigated mechanisms of competition for non-imprinted polymers（NiPs） and activated carbon with humic acid and wastewater. Three different types of activated carbons（Norit PAC 200,Darco KB-M, and Darco S-51） were used for comparison with the NiP. The lower surface area and micropore to mesopore ratio of the NiP led to decreased adsorption capacity in comparison to the activated carbons. in addition, experiments were conducted for single-solute adsorption of Methylene Blue（MB） dye, simultaneous adsorption with humic acid and wastewater, and pre-loading with humic acid and wastewater followed by adsorption of MB dye using NiP and Norit PAC 200. Both the NiP and PAC 200 showed significant decreases of 27% for NiP（p = 0.087） and 29% for PAC 200（p = 0.096） during simultaneous exposure to humic acid and MB dye. There was no corresponding decrease for NiP or PAC 200 pre-loaded with humic acid and then exposed to MB. in fact, for PAC 200, the adsorption capacity of the activated carbon increased when it was pre-loaded with humic acid by 39%（p = 0.0005）. For wastewater, the NiP showed no significant increase or decrease in adsorption capacity during either simultaneous exposure or pre-loading. The adsorption capacity of PAC 200 increased by 40%（p = 0.001） for simultaneous exposure to wastewater and MB. Pre-loading with wastewater had no effect on MB adsorption by PAC 200.

Semantic Web has emerged to make web content machine-readable,and with the rapid increase in the number of web pages,its importance has *** description framework(RDF)is a special data graph format where Semantic Web data are stored and it can be queried by SPARQL query *** challenge is to find the optimal query order that results in the shortest period of *** this paper,the discrete Artificial Bee Colony(dABCSPARQL)algorithm is proposed,based on a novel heuristic approach,namely reordering SPARQL *** processing time of queries with different shapes and sizes is minimized using the dABCSPARQL *** performance of the proposed method is evaluated on chain,star,cyclic,and chain-star queries of different sizes from the Lehigh University Benchmark(LUBM)*** results obtained by the proposed method are compared with those of ARQ(a SPARQL processor for Jena)query engine,the Ant System,the Elitist Ant System,and MAX-MiN Ant System *** experiments demonstrate that the proposed method significantly reduces the processing time,and in most queries,the reduction rate is higher compared with other optimization methods.

Wind energy represents a clean,abundant and cost-effective power source,fostering job growth and environmental *** wind energy harnesses several gigawatts today,its availability hinges on diverse factors,with geographical location standing *** turbines,with varying capacity ranges,saturate the *** site-specific suitability and matching the appropriate turbine to meet specific requirements are of paramount *** study aims to assess the feasibility of wind energy in Surat,Gujarat,india and select an optimal small commercial turbine for residential *** research involves Rayleigh and Weibull probability distribution functions based on yearlong velocity *** distributions are fitted with actual data,revealing the most probable velocity(v_(mf)=3 m/s)and velocity at maximum power(v_(pmax)=5 m/s).The power availability of the site has been assessed as 42.6 W/m^(2)using both graphical and analytical *** commercial turbines have been shortlisted based on on-site power criteria and their specifications are evaluated against site power availability.A comparative analysis culminates in identifying the most suitable turbine for the *** best suitable turbine for the site with an annual energy yield of 8 MW has been suggested amongst selected turbines for small-scale residential applications.

Monosize, 1.6 μm, magnetic beads of poly（glycidyl methacrylate） [M-poly（GMA）], were prepared by dispersion polymerization in the presence of Fe3O4 nano-powder. Monosize M-poly（GMA） beads were characterized by swelling tests, density measurements, electron spin resonance （ESR）, vibrating sample magnetometer （VSM） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. The characteristic functional groups of M-poly（GMA） beads were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer （FTiR）. The M-poly（GMA） beads are highly uniform in size and have a spherical shape and non-porous structure. Polydispersity index （PDi） of M-poly（GMA） beads was calculated to be around 1.008. The hydrated density of the M-poly（GMA） beads measured at 25 ℃ was 1.14 g/cm^3. The content of oxirane groups on the surface of the M-poly（GMA） sample was found to be 3.46 mmol/g by using perchloric acid titration. The specific surface area of the M-poly（GMA） beads was determined to be 3.2 m^2/g. The equilibrium swelling ratio was 52%. The volume fraction of magnetite nanopowder in the M-poly（GMA） beads was found to be 4.5%. The g factor, that can be considered as a quantity characteristic of the molecules in which the unpaired electrons are located, was found to be 2.28 for M-poly（GMA）. The external magnetic field at resonance was calculated to be 2055 Gs which was found sufficient to excite all of the dipole moments present in 1.0 g of M-poly（GMA） sample.

Endocrine disrupting compounds（EDCs） and pharmaceuticals pose a challenge for water and wastewater treatment because they exist at very low concentrations in the presence of substances at much higher concentrations competing for adsorption ***-micron sized resin particles（approximately 300 nm in diameter）（SMR） were tested to evaluate their potential as a treatment for EDCs including：17-β estradiol（E2）,17-α ethinylestradiol（EE2）,estrone（E1）,bisphenol A（BPA）,and diethylstilbestrol（DES） as well as 12 *** were able to remove 98%of spiked E2,80%of EE2,87%of BPA,and up to 97%of DES from *** a 0.5 ppm mixture of E2,EE2,E1,BPA and DES,the minimum removal was24%（E2） and the maximum was 49%（DES）.They were also able to remove the pharmaceuticals from deionized water and ***,SMR are a promising advanced treatment for removal of both EDCs and pharmaceuticals.

Voltage gated calcium channel(VGCC) antibodies are generally associated with Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome. However the presence of this antibody has been associated with paraneoplastic as well as nonparaneoplastic cerebellar degeneration. Most patients with VGCC-antibody-positivity have small cell lung cancer(SCLC). Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome(LEMS)is an autoimmune disease of the presynaptic part of the neuromuscular junction. its classical clinical triadis proximal muscle weakness, areflexia and autonomic dysfunction. Fifty to sixty percent of LEMS patients have a neoplasia, usually SCLC. The co-occurrence of SCLC and LEMS causes more severe and progressive disease and shorter survival than non-paraneoplastic LEMS. Treatment includes 3,4 diaminopyridine for symptomatic purposes and immunotherapy with prednisolone, azathioprine or intravenous immunoglobulin in patients unresponsive to 3,4 diaminopyridine. Paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration(PCD) is a syndrome characterized with severe, subacute pancerebellar dysfunction. Serum is positive for VGCC antibody in 41%-44% of patients, usually with the co-occurrence of SCLC. Clinical and electrophysiological features of LEMS are also present in 20%-40% of these patients. Unfortunately, PCD symptoms do not improve with immunotherapy. The role of VGCC antibody in the immunopathogenesis of LEMS is well known whereas its role in PCD is still unclear. All patients presenting with LEMS or PCD must be investigated for SCLC.

Seaweeds are the natural marine algae which have several properties to act as natural preservatives to extend the shelf life of perishable foods without affecting their quality and causing side *** available and cheap fruits such as tomato are perishable very easily due to its high water *** gel coating is a good choice,easily available and cheap natural preservative abundantly available in the indian *** present study was undertaken to extend the shelf life of the tomatoes using seaweed gel coating at different *** seaweeds namely Kappaphycus alvarezii(red algae)and Sargassum tenerrimum(brown algae)was selected due to their high gelling *** seaweeds were collected in dry form from Aqua Agri Processing Limited,Mana Madurai(SiPCOT)Tamil Nadu,*** seaweed extracts were tested for phytonutrients,antibacterial and anti-fungal activity using standard *** shelf life of seaweed coated tomatoes using different concentrations of the seaweed extract(gel)was *** the results,it is understood that the phytonutrients namely flavonoids,steroids,saponins and tannins are present in both the selected *** and antifungal activity of Kappaphycus alvarezii showed higher inhibition zone than *** against common *** characteristics and shelf life evaluation was based on water loss,texture,ascorbic acid content,juice content,total soluble solids(TSS),total acidity and TSS/total acidity ratio,*** results pointed out that *** was the most effective in maintaining the quality characteristics of tomato fruits and it also supports the fruit quality during storage period than ***,from the results of the study it is concluded that the better quality characteristics and shelf life of tomatoes can be increased by coating seaweed gel and it can be used as a bio preservative in fruit and vegetable preservation.
