Double-confined nanoheterostructure Sb/Sb2S3@Ti3C2Tx@C toward ultra-stable li-/Na-ion batteries

Antimony-based materials with high capacities and moderate potentials are promising anodes for lithium-/-sodium-ion batteries.However,their tremendous volume expansion and inferior conductivity lead to poor structural stability and sluggish reaction kinetics.Herein,a doubleconfined nanoheterostructure Sb/Sb2S3@Ti3C2Tx@C has been fabricated through a solvothermal method followed by low-temperature heat treatment.The dual protection of‘‘MXene’’and‘‘carbon’’can better accommodate the volume expansion of Sb/Sb2S3.The strong covalent bond （Ti–S,Ti–O–Sb,C–O–Sb） can firmly integrate Sb-based material with Ti3C2Txand carbon,which significantly improves the structure stability.In addition,the carbon layer can restrain the oxidation of MXenes,and the nano-Sb/Sb2S3can facilitate electron/ion transport and suppress the restacking of MXenes.The heterogeneous interface between Sb and Sb2S3can further promote interfacial charge transfer.The MXene-Sb/Sb2S3@C-1 with the optimal Sb content shows high specific capacities,comparable rate properties and ultra-stable cycling performances (250 m Ah·g-1after 2500 cycles at 1 A·g-1for sodium-ion batteries).Ex situ X-ray diffractometer （XRD）test reveals the storage mechanism including the conversion and alloying process of MXene-Sb/Sb2S3@C-1.Cyclic voltammetry （CV） test results demonstrate that the pseudocapacitance behavior is dominant in MXene-Sb/Sb2S3@C-1,especially at large current.This design paves the way for exploring high-performance alloy-based/conversion-type anode for energy storage devices.

Influence of Incomplete Soil Plugs on Bearing Capacities of Bucket Foundations in Clay

Due to the uneven seabed and heaving of soil during pumping,incomplete soil plugs may occur during the installation of bucket foundations,and the impacts on the bearing capacities of bucket foundations need to be evaluated.In this paper,the contact ratio(the ratio of the top diameter of the soil plug to the diameter of the bucket)and the soil plug ratio(the ratio of the soil heave height to the skirt height)are defined to describe the shape and size of the incomplete soil plug.Then,finite element models are established to investigate the bearing capacities of bucket foundations with incomplete soil plugs and the influences of the contact ratios,and the soil plug ratios on the bearing capacities are analyzed.The results show that the vertical bearing capacity of bucket foundations in homogeneous soil continuously improves with the increase of the contact ratio.However,in normally consolidated soil,the vertical bearing capacity barely changes when the contact ratio is smaller than 0.75,while the bearing capacity suddenly increases when the contact ratio increases to 1 due to the change of failure mode.The contact ratio hardly affects the horizontal bearing capacity of bucket foundations.Moreover,the moment bearing capacity improves with the increase of the contact ratio for small aspect ratios,but hardly varies with increasing contact ratio for aspect ratios larger than 0.5.Consequently,the reduction coefficient method is proposed based on this analysis to calculate the bearing capacities of bucket foundations considering the influence of incomplete soil plugs.The comparison results show that the proposed reduction coefficient method can be used to evaluate the influences of incomplete soil plug on the bearing capacities of bucket foundations.

Optical aberrations degrade the performance of fluorescence microscopy.Conventional adaptive optics(AO)leverages specific devices,such as the Shack–Hartmann wavefront sensor and deformable mirror,to measure and correct optical aberrations.However,conventional AO requires either additional hardware or a more complicated imaging procedure,resulting in higher cost or a lower acquisition speed.In this study,we proposed a novel space-frequency encoding network(SFE-Net)that can directly estimate the aberrated point spread functions(PSFs)from biological images,enabling fast optical aberration estimation with high accuracy without engaging extra optics and image acquisition.We showed that with the estimated PSFs,the optical aberration can be computationally removed by the deconvolution algorithm.Furthermore,to fully exploit the benefits of SFE-Net,we incorporated the estimated PSF with neural network architecture design to devise an aberration-aware deeplearning super-resolution model,dubbed SFT-DFCAN.We demonstrated that the combination of SFE-Net and SFT-DFCAN enables instant digital AO and optical aberration-aware super-resolution reconstruction for live-cell imaging.

Novel self-assembled porous yolk-shell NiO nanospheres with excellent electrochromic performance for smart windows

With the rapid development of optoelectronics,electrochromic(EC)materials(ECMs)with the advan-tages of low power consumption,easy viewing,high contrast ratio,etc have attached more and more attention from the fields of smart windows,electronic billboards,emerging wearable and portable electronics,and other next-generation displays.Nickel oxide(NiO)is a promising candidate for high-performance ECMs because of its neutral-colored states and low cost.However,NiO-based ECMs still face the problem of slow switching speed due to their low electrical conductivity and small lattice spacing.Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)are promising candidates to fabricate hollow and porous transition metal oxides(TMOs)with high ion transport efficiency,excellent specific capacitance,and electrochemical activities.In this work,porous yolk-shell NiO nanospheres(PYS-NiO NSs)were syn-thesized via a solvothermal and subsequent calcination process of Ni-MOF,which exhibited outstanding EC performance.Because the large specific surface areas and hollow porous nanostructures were conducive to ionic transport,PYS-NiO NSs exhibited a fast coloring/bleaching speed(3.6/3.9 s per one coloring/bleaching cycle)and excellent cycling stability(82%of capacity retention after 3000 cycles).These superior EC properties indicated that the PYS-NiO NSs was a promising candidate for high-performance EC devices.This work provides a new and feasible strategy for the efficient preparation of TMOs ECMs with good EC performance,especially fast switching speed.

To investigate fracture generation and strain variation during SC-CO_(2)(supercritical carbon dioxide)jet fracturing,the model of induced strain is established and the experiments are comprehensively studied.The influence factors are comprehensively explored,such as jet pressure,ambient pressure,etc.With the increasing jet pressure,the fracture morphology changes from parallel cracks to oblique cracks.Both the mass loss of specimen and CO_(2) absorption increase significantly,and the growth rate and minimum value of strain also rise exponentially.Under a high ambient pressure of 8.0 MPa,the main fractures mostly propagated from the surface to the bottom surface of the specimen.The maximum strain and the stable duration under higher ambient pressure are 1.5 times and 10 times,respectively,of the case under the ambient pressure of 5.0 MPa.The comparison shows that the optimal jet distance is 5-7 times the nozzle diameter,resulting in massive mass loss,large CO_(2)absorption,and peak strain.Moreover,the nonlinear variation of strain curve during jet pressurization is related to the type of rock and ambient pressure.These studies clearly show the relationship between the fracture morphology and induced strain,which are crucial for SC-CO_(2)fracturing in shale gas reservoirs.

Doping engineering of iron oxide nanoparticles towards high performance and biocompatible T_(1)-weighted MRI contrast agents

Extremely small-sized iron oxide nanoparticles(IONPs) are of great interest in magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) due to their biosafety as an alternative to clinical gadolinium(Ⅲ) complexes-based contrast agents.Especially when the particle size is less than 10 nm,it has strong diffusion ability and deep penetration distance in tumor tissue.Substitution doping can significantly enhance the T_(1)contrast effect of nanoparticles by regulating the surface exposed atoms.However,the nucleation and growth processes of multi-component synthesis systems are complex and difficult to be accurately controlled,leading to great challenges in the synthesis of ultra-small-sized nanoparticles with different components and sizes.Here,extremely smallsized superparamagnetic gadolinium-doped iron oxide nanoparticles(GdIONPs,Gd_(x)Fe_(3-x)O_(4) NPs) with adjustable doping amount and controllable size in the range of 3.5-7.5 nm were synthesized by thermal decomposition.Then,as-synthesized GdIONPs were surface modified with a highly water-soluble and biocompatible carboxyl-polyethylene glycol-phosphoric acid ligand with high binding affinity.Gd_(0.65)Fe_(2.35)O_(4) NPs exhibited very high r_(1) relaxivity of 10.6 mmol^(-1)·L·s^(-1) in terms of all metal concentrations and 49.0 mmol^(-1)·L·s^(-1) in terms of gadolinium alone,respectively,3 and 14 times higher than clinical T_(1) contrast agents(Gd-DTPA).GdIONPs can continuously obtain high resolution images of blood vessels,and can be used as an efficient and multifunctional contrast agent for MR T_(1)imaging.This stable and efficient doping strategy provides an easy and effective method to individually optimize the magnetic properties of complex oxides and their relaxation effects for a variety of biomedical applications.

Botulinum toxin type A in treating early-stage patients with small-angle acute acquired comitant esotropia

AIM:To investigate botulinum toxin A(BTXA)efficacy on small-angle(≤25Δ)acute acquired concomitant esotropia(AACE)in early-stage patients.METHODS:The electronic medical record data of AACE patients during March 2019 and June 2023 were collected in this retrospective and hospital-based cohort study.A total of 72 small-angle AACE patients received BTXA extraocular muscle injection.Patients were grouped by onset-to-treatment time(Group A:≤6mo,Group B:>6mo).Deviation of esotropia,eye alignment and stereopsis were analyzed at the period of pre/post-injection(1wk,1,3,and 6mo).Orthophoria rate at 6mo(horizontal deviationline differences(P>0.05)between two groups except onset-to-treatment time(2mo vs 11mo,P0.05);while in 3 and 6mo Group A was significantly smaller than group B(all P6mo)may reduce BTXA efficacy.Early BTXA intervention benefits long-term eye alignment and stereopsis recovery.

lignin-reinforced PVDF electrolyte for dendrite-free quasi-solid-state li metal battery

Quasi-solid-state lithium metal batteries(QSSLMBs)assembled with polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)are a promising class of next-generation rechargeable batteries due to their safety,high energy density,and superior interfacial properties.However,PVDF has a series of inherent drawbacks such as low ionic conductivity,ease of crystallization,and hydrophobic character that leading to poor cell properties.To tackle these issues,a lignin-reinforced PVDF electrolyte is proposed in this work to solve these drawbacks of PVDF and enhance the comprehensive performance of QSSBs.The lithophilic polar groups of lignin can promote uniform deposition of li on the electrodes.Cooperating with the improved mechanical properties can efficiently prevent li dendrites penetration through the separator.In addition,more active sites provided by lignin can also enhance li^(+)transport and lead to a faster electrochemical reaction kinetic.Benefitting from the ingenious design,li symmetric cells with 5%lignin-PVDF quasi-solid-state electrolyte can operate for 900 h at a high current density/capacity of 5 mA·cm^(-2)/5 mAh·cm^(-2),while shortcircuiting occurs after 56 h for the counterpart(pure PVDF).Moreover,a full cell of li/5%lignin-PVDF/LFP cell demonstrates a high capacity of 96.2 mAh·g^(-1)after 2000 cycles at 10 C.This work is expected to open up promising opportunities to develop other high-energy/power-density QSSLMBs.

Intermittent melena and refractory anemia due to jejunal cavernous lymphangioma:A case report

BACKGROUND Lymphangiomas in the gastrointestinal tract are extremely rare in adults.As a benign lesion,small intestine lymphangiomas often remain asymptomatic and pose challenges for definitive diagnosis.However,lymphangiomas can give rise to complications such as abdominal pain,bleeding,volvulus,and intussusception.Here,we report a case of jejunal cavernous lymphangioma that presented with intermittent melena and refractory anemia in a male adult.CASE SUMMARY A 66-year-old man presented with intermittent melena,fatigue and refractory anemia nine months prior.Esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy were performed many times and revealed no apparent bleeding.Conservative management,including transfusion,hemostasis,gastric acid secretion inhibition and symptomatic treatment,was performed,but the lesions tended to recur shortly after surgery.Ultimately,the patient underwent capsule endoscopy,which revealed a more than 10 cm lesion accompanied by active bleeding.After singleballoon enteroscopy and biopsy,a diagnosis of jejunal cavernous lymphangioma was confirmed,and the patient underwent surgical resection.No complications or recurrences were observed postoperatively.CONCLUSION Jejunal cavernous lymphangioma should be considered a cause of obscure gastrointestinal bleeding.Capsule endoscopy and single-balloon enteroscopy can facilitate diagnosis.Surgical resection is an effective management method.

Evolution exploration and structure prediction of Keggin-type group IVB metal-oxo clusters

The fascinating chemical structure and broad application prospect of Keggin-type polyoxometalates(POMs)have attracted many chemists to explore and discover continuously.Unlike the traditional Keggin,larger metal atomic radius,higher metal coordinated numbers,lower metal valence states and other features allow the group IVB metal-based Keggin(IVB-Keggin)more space and unknown in terms of structure and performance.Herein,density functional theory(DFT)calculations were performed to explore the influences including cores,shells,caps,and terminal ligands,et al.on IVB-Keggin,and analyze the possibility of novel structure synthesis.From the perspective of multi-layer onion-like clusters,molecular energy level,host-guest interaction energy,surface charge and covalent bond polarity can be further adjusted to achieve the oriented design of functional IVB-Keggin.These insights are expected to provide theoretical support for experimental synthesis,opening a new perspective to understand the growth of Keggin.
