Solar energy applications could be the best alternative to the conventional fuels for the purposes of domestic,water and space heating and some industries in the sunny,arid,and hot *** the present study,the performance of an evacuated tube solar heater for water heating for months of February and March was experimentally *** was performed in a hot and arid area(Nasiriya City,South of Iraq).A solar heater with ten evacuated tube solar collectors with a capacity of 100 liter was used in the *** evacuated tube had a length of 1.8m with an outside diameter of 8 *** was observed that for the two selected months,water temperature of the solar heater reached a maximum more than 70°C during sunny days with no heat extraction from the tank of the solar ***,heat was extracted from the solar collector with four different flowrates 0.5,0.75,1,and 1.25 l/min,*** results showed that temperature of the solar heater behaved differently from the static *** the heat extraction begun,there was a gradual and noticeable decrease in the water temperature of the *** observed decrease was slight with the lowest flowrate(0.25 l/m)and becomes sharp with the highest flowrate(1.25 l/min).however,water temperature of the solar heater remained higher than 40°C for the investigated flowrates except the case of 1.25 l/*** results showed that evacuated tube solar heater can work efficiently in arid and hot areas in winter and spring seasons when the conditions of solar radiation are suitable.

Nowadays,high-resolution images pose several challenges in the context of image *** encryption of huge images’file sizes requires high computational *** encryption techniques like,Data Encryption Standard(DES),and Advanced Encryption Standard(AES)are not only inefficient,but also less *** to characteristics of chaos theory,such as periodicity,sensitivity to initial conditions and control parameters,and ***,the characteristics of deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA),such as vast parallelism and large storage capacity,make it a promising *** paper presents an efficient color image encryption method utilizing DNA encoding with two types of hyper-chaotic *** proposed encryption method comprises three *** first step initializes the conditions for generating Lorenz and Rossler hyper-chaotic maps using a plain image Secure hash Algorithm(ShA-256/384).The second step performs a confusion procedure by scrambling the three components of the image(red,green,and blue)using Lorenz hyper-chaotic ***,the third step combines three approaches to encrypt the scrambled components for diffusion:DNA encoding/decoding,addition operation between components,and XORing with Rossler hyper-chaotic *** simulation results indicate that the suggested encryption algorithm satisfies the requirements of *** entropy value of confusion and diffusion is 7.997,the key space is 2200,and the correlation coefficient is nearly *** efficacy of the proposed method has been verified through numerous evaluations,and the results show its resistance and effectiveness against several attacks,like statistical and brute-force ***,the devised algorithm vanquishes other relevant color image encryption algorithms.

SalinityGradient Solar Ponds(SGSPs)offer the potential to capture and store solar energy for use in a range of domestic and industrial activities in regions with high solar ***,the evaporation of water from these ponds is a significant problem that must be overcome for them to be deployed ***,two ponds were constructed in the city of Nasiriya,*** two ponds were cylindrical with a diameter of 1.4 m and a total depth of 1.4 *** water body in the two ponds was constructed with layer depths of 0.5,0.75 and 0.1 m for the lower convective zone(LCZ),non-convective zone(NCZ)and the upper convective zone(UCZ)*** of the two ponds was covered with a thin liquid paraffin layer(0.5 cm)to eliminate evaporation from the surface of the *** behavior of the standard SGSP and that of the covered pond with evaporation suppressed can be straightforwardly *** experimental units were run for six months from 1st of February to 31st of July *** was shown in the first instance that by covering the pond with a thin layer of paraffin,that evaporation could be *** results showed that for the conventional SGSP,the temperature of the LCZ reached a maximum of ca.76℃ while in the covered pond the temperature of the LCZ was consistently lower than that in the uncovered pond by approximately 5-6℃.The results also indicated that the temperature of the UCZ in the covered pond was higher than that in the uncovered pond by about 10℃ in the second half of the study ***,it was noted that on rainy days the paraffin layer was swept away from the surface;and this could hinder the implementation of thin liquid cover in the large SGSP.

Cystic fibrosis(CF)is one of the most common recessive genetic diseases,with a wide spectrum of phenotypes,ranging from infertility to severe pulmonary *** in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator(CFTR)gene are considered the main genetic cause for *** this study,we recruited a consanguineous Iranian pedigree with four male patients diagnosed with congenital unilateral absence of the vas deferens(CUAVD),and one female patient diagnosed with congenital absence of the uterus(CAU).Testicular biopsy of one patient was performed,and hematoxylin and eosin(h and E)staining of testis sections displayed the presence of germ cell types ranging from spermatogonia to mature spermatids,indicating obstructive *** explore the underlying genetic factor in this familial disorder,we therefore performed whole-exome sequencing(WES)on all available family *** data filtration and CFTR haplotype analysis identified compound heterozygous mutations in CFTR among four patients(two CUAVD patients carried p.h949Y and p.L997F,and one CUAVD and the female CAU patient carried p.h949Y and p.I148T).All these mutations were predicted to be deleterious by at least half of the prediction software programs and were confirmed by Sanger *** study reported that CFTR compound heterozygous mutations in a consanguineous Iranian family cause infertility in both sexes.

Biochars produced from coconut palm biomass residues can aid regenerative agriculture by improving soil properties and plant yield in humid tropics

Lignin-rich recalcitrant biomass residues of coconut palms viz.(i)mature coconut husk,(ii)tender(immature or green)coconut husk(iii)coconut leaf petiole and(iv)coir-pith were successfully pyrolysed using a simple charring kiln into carbon-rich,black,light weight and porous *** alkalinity and good ash content made them fit for remediating acid *** potassium content in these biochars could help reduce the use of inorganic *** analysis showed the mass loss phases of husk and coconut leaf petiole biochars to be ***,all four biochars gave smooth curves indicating thermal stability of the *** seed germination and earthworm avoidance tests proved their potential as soil *** incubation studies with coconut biochars in graded doses,alone or in combination with coconut leaf vermicompost,increased the ph,organic carbon and potassium contents,and promoted plant-beneficial microbiota and enzyme *** studies with tender coconut husk biochar and coconut leaf vermicompost enhanced the dry weight of cowpea plants accompanied with increased arbuscular mycorrhizal sporulation and root colonization,and root nodule dry weight.A field trial resulted in higher chilli yields with tender coconut husk biochar+coconut leaf vermicompost *** results from our studies highlight the potential of pyrolysis as an innovative technology for quick recycling of highly recalcitrant coconut palm biomass residues to biochars as a local source of soil amendment to aid regenerative agriculture in humid tropics.

Background:Community-acquired pneumonia(CAP)is one of the five leading causes of death among children in developing countries,accounting for approximately three million deaths per *** of the modifiable risk factors of CAP may help to reduce the burden of this *** this study,the impact of the socioeconomic status(SES)on the severity and outcome of CAP among Egyptian children was ***:This was a prospective longitudinal cohort study which included 1,470 children diagnosed with CAP,aged two to 15 years(median age 5.4 years).The diagnosis of CAP was based on clinical and radiological findings.A structured questionnaire and the patients’medical records were used for the data *** subjects were divided into two groups:mild and severe *** and demographic variables were compared,and a multivariate logistic regression analysis was ***:The multivariate analysis showed that a low maternal education level(OR:3.8;95%CI:2.12-6.70;P=.0001),unavailability of adequate medical care(OR:3.1;95%CI:1.99-4.88;P=.0001),a low family income(OR:2.2;95%CI:0.99-4.78;P=.047),and parents’smoking habits(OR:2.0;95%CI:1.15-3.55;P=.014)were significant independent predictive risk factors for severe CAP among Egyptian ***:Public health measures against these socio-demographic risk factors should be identified as priorities in order to help reduce the disease burden of deaths from severe CAP among Egyptian children.
