Manufacturing process,diffusion co-efficient and areal capacity are the three main criteria for regulating thick electrodes for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).However,simultaneously regulating these criteria for LIBs is desirable but remains a significant *** this work,niobium pentoxide(Nb_(2)O_(5))anode and lithium iron phosphate(LiFePO_(4))cathode materials were chosen as the model materials and demonstrate that these three parameters can be simultaneously modulated by incorporation of micro-carbon fibers(MCF)and carbon nanotubes(CNT)with both Nb_(2)O_(5) and LFP via vacuum filtration *** as-prepared MNC-20 anode and MLC-20 cathode achieves high reversible areal capacity of≈5.4 m A h cm^(-2)@0.1 C and outstanding Li-ion diffusion coefficients of≈10~(-8)cm~2 s~(-1)in the half-cell *** assembled MNC-20‖MLC-20 full cell LIB delivers maximum energy and power densities of244.04 W h kg^(-1)and 108.86 W kg^(-1),*** excellent electrochemical properties of the asprepared thick electrodes can be attributed to the highly conductive,mechanical compactness and multidimensional mutual effects of the MCF,CNT and active materials that facilitates rapid Li-ion diffusion ***,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),symmetric cells analysis,and insitu Raman techniques clearly validates the enhanced Li-ion diffusion kinetics in the present architecture.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluates the antioxidant and hepatoprotective potentials of Dicoma anomala Sond.(Asteraceae) on body weight,feed and water intake,biochemical parameters and organ ***:Various concentrations(1.56-25 μg/m L)were used in the in vitro assays 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl(DPPH,superoxide anion,hydroxyl radicals,etc.).The effects of treatment with 125,250 and 250 mg/m L Dicoma anomala aqueous roots extract(DARE) was investigated in vivo in the CCl4-induced hepatotoxic rats during the 15 days ***:Water extract exhibited the best activity(IC50:15.20 ± 0.03,11.70 ± 0.10,and 0.84 ± 0.05 μg/m L) in vitro in DPPH,hydroxyl and superoxide anion radicals,respectively,when compared with ***-treatment and treatment with different concentrations of DARE significantly(P < 0.05)attenuated the elevated serum activities of aspartate transaminase,alanine transaminase levels while increasing the activities of superoxide dismutase,catalase and glutathione *** histopathological evaluations revealed extensive liver damage characterized by severe vacuolar and cytoplasmic degeneration,hepatic necrosis,and cellular infilteration in pre-treated groups while in the treated groups;such liver damages were not observed most especially at 500 mg/kg ***:The results proved the hepatoprotective potential of DARE against CCl4-induced oxidative ***,histopathological examinations revealed better therapeutic advantage of DARE than prophylactic use.

Designing a highly conductive scaffold with unique function has great significance in elevating the stor-age properties of molybdenum sulfide(MoS_(2))for sodium-and potassium-ion ***,we show that forming a three-dimensional(3D)highly conductive dual backbone that consists of titanium nitride nanowires(TiN)coated on 3D carbon fiber(CF)could suppress the poor conductivity of MoS_(2).Theo-retical calculations predict that both TiN and CF boost the electronic conductivity,while the MoS_(2)will promote high ionic adsorption owing to the suitable adsorption *** as-prepared CF@TiN/MoS_(2),with mass loading up to 12.5 mg cm^(−2),achieves a high areal capacity of up to 5.40 mAh cm^(−2)under the current density of 0.6 mA cm^(−2)for sodium *** excellent performance of the hybrid can be attributed to buffer and conductivity enhancer features,allowing Na-ion to directly have contact with the CF@TiN/MoS_(2)hybrid.A series of electrochemical analyses including cyclic voltammetry and symmetric cell analyses affirm the significant improvement in transport *** importantly,the CF@TiN/MoS_(2)also achieves a high areal capacity of 3.29 mAh cm^(−2)under the current density of 0.3 mA cm^(−2)as anode material for potassium ion batteries(PIBs),demonstrating that the scaffold-regulated strategy is a feasible strategy to enhance the kinetics of MoS_(2)-based anodes for secondary-ion batteries and beyond.

Objective: To investigate the free radical scavenging, antidiabetic, kinetics of enzyme inhibition and cytotoxic potentials of flavonoid-rich extract of Gazania krebsiana leaves using standard methods. Methods: Antioxidant activity of the flavonoids was investigated at scavenging free radicals such as 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl, nitric oxide, hydroxyl radical, reducing capabilities, 2,2-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6) sulphonic acid as well as metal chelating capability at different concentrations(125-1 000 μg/m L) while the antidiabetic activity was evaluated via the inhibition and kinetics of carbohydrate digestive enzymes including α-amylase, α-glucosidase, sucrase and maltase. Brine shrimp lethality assay was also employed to examine the cytotoxic effects at various concentrations(125-2 000 μg/m L). Results: The study showed the best antioxidant activity in 2,2-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6) sulphonic acid, hydroxyl radical, nitric oxide and metal chelating with IC50 values of(1 089.00±19.29),(719.40±5.35),(633.10±5.31),(1 116.00±22.92) μg/m L, respectively; as compared with butylated hydroxyl anisole(standard) with IC50 of 1 166, 747, 639 and 1 363 μg/m L, respectively. Similarly, strong inhibition of α-glucosidase as well as moderate inhibition of sucrase and maltase enzyme activities which were significantly(P<0.05) better than acarbose were also observed in the study; though acarbose activity against α-amylase was better than the extract. The kinetics or mode of inhibition of α-amylase by the extract revealed an uncompetitive inhibition, competitive for α-glucosidase and non-competitive inhibitions for both sucrase and maltase, while the result of the lethality assay showed a potent cytotoxic effect with LC50 value of 359 μg/m L. Conclusions: The results obtained from this study are suggestive of the antioxidative, antidiabetic and cytotoxic potentials of flavonoid-rich extract of Gazania krebsiana.

Methods:Antioxidant activity of the flavonoids was investigated at scavenging free radicals such as 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl, nitric oxide, hydroxyl radical, reducing capabilities, 2,2-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6) sulfonic acid as well as metal chelating capability at different concentrations(0.125-1.000 mg/mL) while the antidiabetic activity was evaluated via the inhibition and kinetics of carbohydrate digestive enzymes including, alpha glucosidase, sucrase and maltase. Brine shrimp lethality assay was also employed to examine the cytotoxic effects of the extract by using different range of concentrations(0.125-2.000 mg/mL). Results: The study revealed the best antioxidant activity of the extract in 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl,2,2-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6) sulfonic acid and nitric oxide having IC_(50) values of(386.90±4.91),(736.00±38.12),(629.30±9.62) μg/mL respectively compared with quercetin(standard) with IC_(50) [(522.20±12.38),(1 021.00±15.61) and(1 075.00±29.35) μg/mL]respective values while it was insignificantly(P>0.05) at par with quercetin for reducing power. Similarly, the extract exhibited a moderate inhibition of alpha glucosidase(43.1%),sucrase(33.4%) and maltase(29.9%) activities which were significantly(P<0.05) better than acarbose(18.4%, 12.7% and 24.9% respectively) although acarbose(46.1%) inhibited the higher activity of alpha amylase than the extract(13.7%). The kinetics of mode of inhibition of alpha amylase, alpha glucosidase, sucrase and maltase by flavonoids extract of Dicoma anomala revealed an uncompetitive, non-competitive, competitive and non-competitive inhibition respectively. The result of the lethality assay showed a potent cytotoxic effect of the flavonoids with LC_(50) value 0.510 mg/mL. Conclusions: The results obtained from this stud

A porous hollow hybrid nanoarchitecture that consist of Co2 P/Co nanoparticles confined in nitrogendoped carbon(NC) and carbon nanotube(CNT) hollow nanocubes(denoted as H-Co2 P/Co-NC/CNT) has been rational designed as anode for lithium ion batteries(LIBs) and electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Such design involves simple synthetic process of using metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)as sacrificial *** uniform cubic-shaped H-Co2 P/Co-NC/CNT hybrid is investigated with several intriguing advantages,including improved structural integrity,superior electronic conductivity,hollow architecture and large specific surface area and so *** as-synthesized H-Co2 P/Co-NC/CNT displays excellent lithium storage behaviour in terms of long cycle life(> 500 cycles),remarkable rate performance(up to 5 A g^-1),high reversible capacity(601 mA hg^-1 at 0.2 A g^-1) and high pseudocapacitance ***,it also delivers a superior catalytic property for OER with a small Ta fel slope of 45.3 mV dec^-1 and overpotential of 256 mV(at 10 mA cm^-2).The excellent performance can be attributed to the synergistic effect between Co2 P/Co and NC/CNT,leading to enhanced conductivity through high pseudocapacitance *** present work demonstrates that MOF-derived H-Co2 P/Co-NC/CNT hybrid is a promising candidate for high-performance multifunctional energy systems.
