In this study,non-cavitating and cavitating flow around the benchmark DTMB 4119 model propeller are solved using both viscous and potential based *** and non-cavitating propeller radiated noises are then predicted by using a hybrid method in which RANS(Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes)and FWH(Ffowcs Williams Hawkings)equations are solved together in open water *** cavitation on the propeller blades is modelled by using a VOF(Volume of Fiuld)method equipped with Schnerr-Sauer cavitation ***,tip vortex cavitation noise is estimated by using two different semi-empirical techniques,namely Tip Vortex Index(TVI,based on potential flow theory)and Tip Vortex Contribution(TVC).As the reference distance between noise source and receiver is not defined in open water case for TVI technique,one of the outputs of this study is to propose a reference distance for TVI technique by coupling two semi-empirical techniques and ITTC distance *** the defined distance,the starting point of the tip vortex cavitation is determined for different advance ratios and cavitation numbers using potential flow ***,it is examined that whether the hybrid method and potential flow solver give the same noise results at the inception point of tip vortex *** show that TVI method based on potential flow theory is reliable and can practically be used to replace the hybrid method(RANS with FWH approach)when tip vortex cavitation starts.

Small mammal community response to early meadow–forest succession

Background： With farmland afforestation becoming common policy in many European Union countries, we studied how early forest succession（from meadow to young stand） influences small mammal species composition, diversity,abundance and biomass. Despite numerous investigations into forest succession, almost no attention has been given to the small mammal community change in the early-successional forest ecosystems, starting with the pre-forest habitat and ending with stand formation and the establishment of tree dominance. We compared small mammal communities in meadows at the initial stage of regrowth（with saplings less than 10 cm in height）, in young forest（5–10 years old） and more advanced forest（15–20 years） in both cases of human-induced forest succession, where the trees had been planted, and natural forest succession, where natural regrowth of meadows had ***： The greatest diversity of small mammal species was recorded in the meadow（H = 2.95）, with a lower diversity found in the young forest（H = 2.61） and even lower in the advanced forest（H = 2.04）, the last habitat being the most monodominantic. The order of species dominance from Microtus sp.（M. arvalis, M. agrestis）, Myodes glareolus, Apodemus flavicollis, Sorex araneus, A. agrarius in the meadow changed to M. glareolus, S. araneus, M. arvalis,M. agrestis in the young forest and to M. glareolus, A. flavicollis, S. araneus in the advanced forest. The lowest relative abundance of small mammals was recorded in the meadow（18.19 ± 2.27 ind. Per 100 trap-days）, with Microtus voles being the most abundant. Relative abundance was higher in the young forest（22.72 ± 2.25 ind. Per 100 trap-days）,with Myodes glareolus being the most abundant（7.59 ± 0.96 ind. Per 100 trap-days） and at its highest in the advanced forest（23.91 ± 2.77 ind. Per 100 trap-days）, again with M. glareolus being the most abundant（15.54 ± 2.35 ind. Among the common hazards related to alluvial fans,flooding is one of the most ***,in populated alluvial fans,not only the natural processes are effective in floods,but the artificial structures and modifications can change the behavior of flooding and its potential *** study aims to indicate the flood-prone landforms in a set of populated alluvial fans in an arid region and investigate the role of anthropogenic activities in controlling/exacerbating flooding in alluvial *** achieve this goal,15 Ground Range Detected in High resolution(GRDH)SAR Sentinel-1 images,covering a total of 24 alluvial fans,were ***-processing and post-processing steps were applied to all images to identify flood-prone sections of the studied alluvial *** results showed that feeder channels,spreading sites,and wide interfluves are the most flood-prone landforms of alluvial *** terms of anthropogenic modifications to mitigate flooding,a rampart system is distributed in the study *** are levee like structures formed from the fan *** aim to mitigate flood hazard on residential areas,infrastructures,and agricultural lands of the study *** show that the rampart system can reduce the danger of floods,but it cannot be considered a long-term ***,a comprehensive flood protection system distributed throughout the whole alluvial fan system is *** also reveal that in regions where flood monitoring is challenging,SAR images can be used as a freely available data set to monitor and identify flooding hotspots.

Identifying genes with prognostic significance that can act as biomarkers in solid tumors can help stratify patients and uncover novel therapy ***,our goal was to expand our previous ranking analysis of survival-associated genes in various solid tumors to include colon cancer specimens with available transcriptomic and clinical data.A Gene Expression Omnibus search was performed to identify available datasets with clinical data and raw gene expression measurements.A combined database was set up and integrated into our Kaplan-Meier plotter,making it possible to identify genes with expression changes linked to altered *** a demonstration of the utility of the platform,the most powerful genes linked to overall survival in colon cancer were identified using uni-and multivariate Cox regression *** combined colon cancer database includes 2,137 tumor samples from 17 independent *** most significant genes associated with relapse-free survival with a false discovery rate below 1%in colon cancer carcinoma were RBPMS(hazard rate[HR]=2.52),TIMP1(HR=2.44),and COL4A2(HR=2.36).The three strongest genes associated with shorter survival in stage II colon cancer include CSF1R(HR=2.86),FLNA(HR=2.88),and TPBG(HR=2.65).In summary,a new integrated database for colon cancer is presented.A colon cancer analysis subsystem was integrated into our Kaplan-Meier plotter that can be used to mine the entire database(https://***).The portal has the potential to be employed for the identification and prioritization of promising biomarkers and therapeutic target candidates in multiple solid tumors including,among others,breast,lung,ovarian,gastric,pancreatic,and colon cancers.

Attempts have been made to generate euchlorine gas by chlorate-chloride process and to utilize it further to clean up SO2 and NOx from the flue gas in a lab scale bubbling reactor. Preliminary experiments were carded out to determine the gas and liquid phase mass transfer coefficients and their correlation equations have been established. Simultaneous removal of SO2 and NOx from the simulated flue gas using aqueous euchlorine scrubbing solution has been investigated. Euchlorine oxidized NO into NO2 completely and the later subsequently absorbed into the scrubbing solution in the form of nitrate. SO2 removal efficiency around 100% and NOx removal efficiency around 72% were achieved under optimal conditions. Mass balance has been confirmed by analyzing the sulfate, nitrate, euchlorine and chloride ion using ion chromatograph/auto-titrator and comparing it with their corresponding calculated values.

Implementing population-based screening programs for colorectal cancer has led to an increase in the detection of large but benign histological ***,endoscopic mucosal resection can be considered the standard technique for the removal of benign lesions of the colon due to its excellent safety profile and good clinical ***,several studies from different geographic areas agree that many benign colon lesions are still referred for ***,the referral rate to surgery is not decreasing over the years,despite the theoretical improvement of endoscopic resection *** article will review the leading causes for benign colorectal lesions to be referred for surgery and the influence of the endoscopist experience on the referral *** will also describe how to categorize a polyp as complex for resection and consider an endoscopist as an expert in endoscopic *** finally,we will propose a framework for the accurate and evidence-based treatment of complex benign colorectal lesions.

In this paper the use of lime stabilized subgrade for low volume roads in two regions with high mountains and different frost penetration conditions in Türkiye was investigated in terms of design,performance,and *** on unstabilized and stabilized subgrade were designed for two regions(Izmir and Van),covering all climate *** resilient modulus of the lime stabilized subgrade with different soil pulverization levels for non-freezing and freezing conditions were taken from a previous laboratory *** effects were considered in pavement design using two different approaches,including limited subgrade frost penetration method and reduced subgrade strength *** application and evaluation were performed for all *** stabilized subgrades significantly reduced the thickness of base courses,and the benefit of lime stabilization was highly dependent on soil pulverization level.A detailed cost analysis on the unstabilized and stabilized cases found that the use of lime stabilization in the subgrade provided significant initial cost *** analysis by using the AASHTO(1993)method and KENPAVE software,and quantity effect of soil pulverization level on the performance of low volume roads from a service life perspective,show that subgrade resilient modulus can be *** is also possible to make correct performance estimation in the *** results of the study show that lime stabilization is a good solution for low volume roads in the mountainous regions of Türkiye.
