Designing materials that mitigate impacts effectively are crucial for protecting people and ***,a single-resonator metamaterial with negative mass characteristics is proposed for impact mitigation,and numerical analysis of wave propagation shows explicitly how the spring stiffness and number of unit cells influence that *** results show clearly that a metamaterial with differing microstructural stiffness is better at mitigating the effect of a shock wave than one with a unique ***,there is a critical number of unit cells beyond which the shock wave is not attenuated further,but the fabrication complexity *** the 40 groups of microstructural regions in this example,the attenuation effect no longer increases when there are more than 35 *** work offers guidance for microstructure designs in metamaterials and provides new ideas for using metamaterials to mitigate shock waves.

The shuttle effect is among the most characteristic and formidable challenges in the pursuit of high-performance lithium-sulfur(li-S)***,phosphorylated cellulose nanofibers(pCNF)are intentionally engineered to establish an ion-sieving barrier against polysulfide shuttling and thereby improve battery *** phosphorylation,involving the grafting of phosphate groups onto the cellulose backbone,imparts an exceptional electronegativity that repels the polysulfide anions from penetrating through the ***,the electrolyte wettability and li^(+)transfer can be significantly promoted by the polar nature of pCNF and the facile li^(+)*** such,rational ion management is realized,contributing to enhanced reversibility in both sulfur and lithium *** a result,li-S cells equipped with the self-standing pCNF separator demonstrate outstanding long-term cyclability with a minimum fading rate of 0.013%per cycle over 1000 cycles at 1 C,and a decent areal capacity of 5.37 mA h cm^(-2) even under elevated sulfur loading of 5.0 mg cm^(-2) and limited electrolyte of 6.0 mL g^(-1).This work provides a facile and effective pathway toward the well-tamed shuttle effect and highly durable li-S batteries.

Conversion of labile Pb species into chloropyromorphite(CPY)using phosphorus-bearing amendments was considered to be an ideal strategy in soil passivation ***,the fate and transport of CPY in the soil are poorly *** study aims to fill the knowledge gap by evaluating the fate and transport of CPY under environmentally relevant conditions of humic acid(HA),pH,electrolyte concentration,and species through the saturated sandy *** showed that bare CPY colloids are basically immobile in sandy porous media while the co-existence of HA made the transport of CPY improved by30%-93.5%.Facilitated transport of CPY was attributed to the increased stability of CPY and the repulsive interaction between CPY particles and sands due to HA *** mobility of CPY was also increased with increasing pH from 5.0 to *** the pH was 9 with a10 mmol/L NaCl background solution,the stronger energy barrier between CPY and sand led to enhanced transport *** divalent Ca^(2+)had a more dramatic effect than monovalent Na^(+)on the aggregation and sedimentation of CPY colloids due to its effectivescreening of the surface charge of CPY and bridging interaction with CPY ***-LandauVerwey-Overbeek theory and attachment efficiency calculation indicated that high energy barriers were responsible for the high mobility of CPY colloids,while the retention of CPY in sands was mainly caused by secondary energy minimum and physically *** findings of this work can help to evaluate the fate of soil passivation remediation products in natural water and soil.

The auto-parametric resonance of a continuous-beam bridge model subjected to a two-point periodic excitation is experimentally and numerically investigated in this *** auto-parametric resonance experiment of the test model is conducted to observe and measure the auto-parametric resonance of a continuous beam under a two-point excitation on *** parametric vibration equation is established for the test model using the finite-element *** auto-parametric resonance stability of the structure is analyzed by using Newmark's method and the energy-growth exponent *** effects of the phase difference of the two-point excitation on the stability boundaries of auto-parametric resonance are studied for the test *** with the experiment,the numerical instability predictions of auto-parametric resonance are consistent with the test phenomena,and the numerical stability boundaries of auto-parametric resonance agree with the experimental *** a continuous beam bridge,when the ratio of multipoint excitation frequency(applied to the columns)to natural frequency of the continuous girder is approximately equal to 2,the continuous beam may undergo a strong auto-parametric *** with the present experiment and analysis,a hypothesis of Volgograd Bridge's serpentine vibration is discussed.

Space metallurgy is an interdisciplinary field that combines planetary space science and metallurgical *** involves systematic and theoretical engineering technology for utilizing planetary resources in ***,space metallurgy on the Moon is challenging because the lunar surface has experienced space weathering due to the lack of atmosphere and magnetic field,making the mi-crostructure of lunar soil differ from that of minerals on the *** this study,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy analyses were performed on Chang’e-5 powder lunar soil *** microstructural characteristics of the lunar soil may drastically change its metallurgical *** main special structure of lunar soil minerals include the nanophase iron formed by the impact of micrometeorites,the amorphous layer caused by solar wind injection,and radiation tracks modified by high-energy particle rays inside mineral *** nanophase iron presents a wide distribution,which may have a great impact on the electromagnetic prop-erties of lunar *** ions injected by solar wind may promote the hydrogen reduction *** widely distributed amorph-ous layer and impact glass can promote the melting and diffusion process of lunar ***,although high-energy events on the lun-ar surface transform the lunar soil,they also increase the chemical activity of the lunar *** is a property that earth samples and tradi-tional simulated lunar soil *** application of space metallurgy requires comprehensive consideration of the unique physical and chemical properties of lunar soil.

Fog computing can deliver low delay and advanced IT services to end users with substantially reduced energy ***,with soaring demands for resource service and the limited capability of fog nodes,how to allocate and manage fog computing resources properly and stably has become the ***,the paper investigates the utility optimization-based resource allocation problem between fog nodes and end users in fog *** authors first introduce four types of utility functions due to the diverse tasks executed by end users and build the resource allocation model aiming at utility ***,for only the elastic tasks,the convex optimization method is applied to obtain the optimal results;for the elastic and inelastic tasks,with the assistance of Jensen’s inequality,the primal non-convex model is approximated to a sequence of equivalent convex optimization problems using successive approximation ***,a two-layer algorithm is proposed that globally converges to an optimal solution of the original ***,numerical simulation results demonstrate its superior performance and *** with other works,the authors emphasize the analysis for non-convex optimization problems and the diversity of tasks in fog computing resource allocation.

It is generally considered that heat treatments have a negative impact on the mechanical properties of nacre due to thermal decomposition of the organic ***,the present work investigated the microindentation behavior on fresh and heat-treated nacres from two orthogonal directions,and the results demonstrate that both hardness value and damage tolerance can remain almost unchanged on the cross-section with the organic matrix degeneration,despite a significant deterioration on the platelet *** analyses suggest that the anisotropic response of indentation behavior to heat treatment in nacre is primarily caused by its structural ***,compared with a single layer of irregular interplatelet interfaces in cross-sectional specimens,the multiple layers of parallel interlamellar interfaces in in-plane specimens exhibit a much greater ability to impede indenter-triggered destruction,and heat treatments would reduce the in-plane hardness but nearly have no effect on the cross-sectional ***,the deeper embedding of platelets in cross-sectional specimens enhances their resistance to interface cracking caused by organic matrix degradation at high temperatures,leading to a reduced sensitivity to ***,the indentation behavior of nacre shows different tendencies in response to variations in the organic matrix state along normal and parallel directions.

The Internet of Things(loT)has grown rapidly due to artificial intelligence driven edge *** enabling many new functions,edge computing devices expand the vulnerability surface and have become the target of malware ***,attackers have used advanced techniques to evade defenses by transforming their malware into functionality-preserving *** systematically analyze such evasion attacks and conduct a large-scale empirical study in this paper to evaluate their impact on *** specifically,we focus on two forms of evasion attacks:obfuscation and adversarial *** the best of our knowledge,this paper is the first to investigate and contrast the two families of evasion attacks *** apply 10 obfuscation attacks and 9 adversarial attacks to 2870 malware *** obtained findings are as follows.(1)Commercial Off-The-Shelf(COTS)malware detectors are vulnerable to evasion attacks.(2)Adversarial attacks affect COTS malware detectors slightly more effectively than obfuscated malware examples.(3)Code similarity detection approaches can be affected by obfuscated examples and are barely affected by adversarial attacks.(4)These attacks can preserve the functionality of original malware examples.

Based on the attributes of nonflammability,environmental benignity,and cost-effectiveness of aqueous electrolytes,as well as the favorable compatibility of zinc metal with them,aqueous zinc ions batteries(AZIBs)become the leading energy storage candidate to meet the requirements of safety and low ***,aqueous electrolytes,acting as a double-edged sword,also play a negative role by directly or indirectly causing various parasitic reactions at the zinc anode *** reactions include hydrogen evolution reaction,passivation,and dendrites,resulting in poor Coulombic efficiency and short lifespan of AZIBs.A comprehensive review of aqueous electrolytes chemistry,zinc chemistry,mechanism and chemistry of parasitic reactions,and their relationship is ***,the understanding of strategies for suppressing parasitic reactions from an electrochemical perspective is not profound *** this review,firstly,the chemistry of electrolytes,zinc anodes,and parasitic reactions and their relationship in AZIBs are deeply ***,the strategies for suppressing parasitic reactions from the perspective of enhancing the inherent thermodynamic stability of electrolytes and anodes,and lowering the dynamics of parasitic reactions at Zn/electrolyte interfaces are ***,the perspectives on the future development direction of aqueous electrolytes,zinc anodes,and Zn/electrolyte interfaces are presented.
