Internet of Things (IoT) among of all the technology revolutions has been considered the next evolution of the internet. IoT has become a far more popular area in the computing world. IoT combined a huge number of things (devices) that can be connected through the internet. The purpose: this paper aims to explore the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT) generally and outline the main definitions of IoT. The paper also aims to examine and discuss the obstacles and potential benefits of IoT in Saudi universities. methodology: the researchers reviewed the previous literature and focused on several databases to use the recent studies and research related to the IoT. Then, the researchers also used quantitative methodology to examine the factors affecting the obstacles and potential benefits of IoT. The data were collected by using a questionnaire distributed online among academic staff and a total of 150 participants completed the survey. Finding: the result of this study reveals there are twelve factors that affect the potential benefits of using IoT such as reducing human errors, increasing business income and worker’s productivity. It also shows the eighteen factors which affect obstacles the IoT use, for example sensors’ cost, data privacy, and data security. These factors have the most influence on using IoT in Saudi universities.

The continuous destruction and frauds prevailing due to phishing URLs make it an indispensable area for *** techniques are adopted in the detection process,including neural networks,machine learning,or hybrid techniques.A novel detection model is proposed that uses data mining with the Particle Swarm Optimization technique(PSO)to increase and empower the method of detecting phishing *** selection based on various techniques to identify the phishing candidates from the URL is *** this approach,the features mined from the URL are extracted using data mining *** features are selected on the basis of URL *** classification of these features identified by the data mining rules is done using PSO *** selection of features with PSO optimization makes it possible to identify phishing *** a large number of rule identifiers,the true positive rate for the identification of phishing URLs is maximized in this *** experiments show that feature selection using data mining and particle swarm optimization helps tremendously identify the phishing URLs based on the structure of the URL ***,it can minimize processing time for identifying the phishing website ***,the approach can be beneficial to identify suchURLs over the existing contemporary detecting models proposed before.

Three Keggin-type heteropolyanions, namely H3Pmo12O40-13H2O, （NH4）3Pmo12O40·4H2O and H3PW12O40·13H2O were prepared and tested in the ring-opening polymerization reaction of tetrahydrofuran. The effects of the counter-cation （H＋, NH4＋） and the peripheral atoms （mo, W） on the polymerization were investigated. It has been found that when the protons of H3Pmo12O40·13H2O were replaced by the ammonium cations the polymerization rate decreased dramatically. Whereas, when the peripheral atoms （mo） were replaced by their homologous （W）, the polymerization rate increased twofold. As for the viscosity average molecular weight （my） of polymer products, it was found that the high molecular weight （7930） was obtained by using H3PW12O40·13H2O. The molecular weight （my） obtained by H3Pmo12O40·13H2O and （NH4）H3Pmo12O40·13H2O was 6470 and 6810, respectively.

In the cloud environment,the transfer of data from one cloud server to another cloud server is called *** can be delivered in various ways,from one data centre to *** research aims to increase the migration performance of the virtual machine(Vm)in the cloud *** allow cloud customers to store essential data and ***,server usage has grown dramatically due to the virtualization of computer systems,resulting in higher data centre power consumption,storage needs,and operating *** Vms on one data centre manage share resources like central processing unit(CPU)cache,network bandwidth,memory,and application ***-cloud,Vmmigration addresses the performance degradation due to cloud server configuration,unbalanced traffic load,resource load management,and fault situations during data *** speed is influenced by the size of the Vm,the dirty rate of the running application,and the latency ofmigration *** a result,evaluating Vm migration performance while considering all of these factors becomes a difficult *** effort of this research is to assess migration problems on *** simulation results in matlab show that if the Vmsize grows,themigration time of Vms and the downtime can be impacted by three orders *** dirty page rate decreases,themigration time and the downtime grow,and the latency time decreases as network bandwidth increases during the migration time and post-migration overhead calculation when the Vmtransfer is *** the simulated cases of Vms migration were performed in a fuzzy inference system with performance graphs.

The effect of silica nanoparticles on the rheological characteristics of water-in-heavy oil emulsions has been *** oil recovery methods for heavy oil production(most especially,thermal fluid injection)usually result in the formation of water-in-oil(W/O)*** reality,the emulsion produced also contains some fine solid mineral particles such as silica,which,depending on its quantity,may alter the viscosity and/or rheological properties of the fluid.A series of binary-component emulsions were separately prepared by dispersing silica nanoparticles[phase fraction,βs,=0.5%–5.75%(wt/v)]in heavy oil(S/O suspension)and by dispersing water[water cut,θw=10%–53%(v/v)]in heavy oil(W/O emulsion).Ternary-component emulsions comprising heavy oil,water droplets and suspended silica nanoparticles(S/W/O)were also prepared with similar ranges ofθw andβ*** viscosity was measured at different shear rates(5.1–1021.4 s-1)and temperatures(30–70°C).Both binary-component and ternary-component emulsion systems were observed to exhibit nonNewtonian shear thinning *** viscosity of the heavy oil and W/O emulsions increased in the presence of silica *** effect was,however,less signifi cant belowβs=2%(wt/v).moreover,a generalized correlation has been proposed to predict the viscosity of both binary-component and ternary-component emulsions.

Oral health status of older people in residential homes in Saudi Arabia

The aim of the study was to de-termine the oral health status and treatment needs of elderly residents of residential homes in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. methods: Among 129 elderly residents, 83 (51 males, and 32 females) of them were interviewed and clini-cally examined according to WHO criteria by two calibrated dentists. Results: The mean age of the subjects was 72 ± 8.5. male subjects had a higher smoking rate than females. Among elderly subjects below 74 years old, 20.8% had a functional dentition (> or = 20), while only 6.7% for those aged greater or equal to 75 years (p = 0.0004). mean number of the sound teeth in all subjects was 6.7 ± 8.5. The mean number of DmFT was 18.6 ± 12.6. The missing component was the highest (16 ± 13) for both genders. The mean number of decayed roots was 2.75 ± 3.95 in males and 0.63 ± 1.96 in females. Overall, males had more sound and decayed teeth and less filled and missed teeth than females. There was no significant difference between males and females in periodontal problems except the calculus scores. The majority of subjects in need for tooth extraction were male subjects. With no gender difference 63% were in need for restorations, 40% needed upper and lower full dentures. Need for partial dentures was 38% upper and 48% lower. Conclusion: The oral health of the institutionalized elderly population in Saudi Arabia is generally poor and their treatment needs are high.

Background: Diabetes is a chronic disease of a genetic and environmental background. If it is not diagnosed and controlled early, it can have devastating complications. Aim: measure and analyze the prevalence and risks of prediabetes and diabetes among recruits enlisted in the Wadi al-Dawasir (WD) military zone, central Saudi Arabia. The influence of some demographic criteria, weight, and blood pressure upon blood glucose level would be evaluated. methods: A cross sectional design was utilized, whereas predesigned questionnaire and clinical interview were used to screen the study population. Results: The participants’ median age was 33.7 (IQR 11.9), mean body mass index (BmI) was 27.6 ± 5.4 kg/m2. Out of 531 recruits screened, almost two-thirds were either overweight (34.7%) or obese (29.9%). The mean waist circumference (WC) was 94.7 ± 13.3 cm;and 27.9% had central obesity (WC ≥102 cm). Random plasma glucose (RPG) median accounted 106 mg/dl (IQR 21). The participants’ RPG levels significantly increased by age (U = 19697.0), by BmI [H(df 5) = 59.6], and by WC (U = 25,670.5), (p rho(df 503) = 0.241, p U 3515, p 25 to ≥40 kg/m2) more than normal subjects [46 (87%) vs. 5 (0.9%)], [χ2(df 5) = 18.8, p Conclusions: Prediabetes and uncontrolled diabetes are relatively prevalent among Saudi recruits’ community. An insufficient influence of obesity for developing diabetes symptoms in the study population may well be attributed to time factor separating the two variables. A preventive approach to revert the predisposition of prediabetes in WD recruits population is quite promising.

Late onset ilio-psoas abscess due to stump appendicitis： a case report

We describe a case of right ilio-psoas abscess caused by stump appendicitis 14 years after open *** appendicitis is a rare complication of appendectomy. Right ilio-psoas abscess was diagnosed in an immunecompetent patient and treated by ultrasound guided percutaneous drainage twice without identifying the cause of the abscess. The patient did not improve until diagnostic laparoscopy was performed revealing a long stump appendicitis to be the origin of infection. It was treated by completion appendectomy. Surgical exploration may be necessary in persistent or recurrent ilio-psoas abscesses. We identified 4 reported cases of post-appendectomy ilio-psoas abscess but without recognizing the cause of the abscess and its relation to appendectomy. This is the first reported case of ilio-psoas abscess that developed as a complication of stump appendicitis.
