Silicon is the most extensively studied semiconductor mainly owing to its wide applicability in the photovoltaic solar cell *** the qualily of Si photovoltaic cells depends on the purity of the material and on the grain structure of the ingot from which the wafers are *** electrical performance of such materials,i.e. mainly their minority carrier lifetime,is closely related to metal impurities present in the feedstock or introduced during crystal *** impurities strongly interact with existing crystal defects to form complexes,accumulate at dislocations or grain boundaries in different forms,or even form silieide precipitates,which simultaneously contain several metal *** such a context,it is necessary to control the segregation of impurities especially metallic in the grown ingot in order to optimize the cell properties as a function of the raw material purity.A new Bridgman set-up is developed in order to study the crystallization of photovoltaic Si under independently controlled solidification parameters growth rate,thermal gradient,purity and ***,either natural or forced,plays a very important role during the *** intensity and flow pattern affect heat and mass transfer and,consequently,macrostructure and segregation in a solidified *** the convection can be controlled by a travelling magnetic field in order to homogenize or segregate the rejected impurities such as metallic *** effects of the magnetic field intensity and frequency on the segregation and crystalline structure will be presented.

First-Principles Calculations on Novel Rb-Based Halide Double Perovskites Alloys for Spintronics and Optoelectronic Applications

The outcomes of computational study of electronic, magnetic and optical spectra for A2BX6 (A = Rb;B = Tc, Pb, Pt, Sn, W, Ir, Ta, Sb, Te, Se, Mo, Mn, Ti, Zr and X = Cl, Br) materials have been proceeded utilizing Vanderbilt Ultra Soft Pseudo Potential (US-PP) process. The Rb2PbBr6 and Rb2PbCl6 are found to be a (Г-Г) semiconductors with energy gaps of 0.275 and 1.142 eV, respectively making them promising photovoltaic materials. The metallic behavior of the materials for Rb2BX6 (B = Tc, W, Ir, Ta, Mn, Sb, Mo) has been confirmed showing the attendance of conducting lineaments. The dielectric function is found to be large close to the ultraviolet districts (3.10 - 4.13 eV). The extinction coefficient of the Rb2BX6 has the ability to be used for implements. The band structures and density of states ensure the magnetic semiconductors’ nature of the Rb2Mn (Cl, Br)6 perovskites. The total calculated magnetic moment of Rb2MnCl6 and Rb2MnB6 is 3.00μβ. Advanced spintronic technology requires room-temperature ferromagnetism. The present work confirms that, bromine and chlorine-founded double perovskites are extremely attractive for photovoltaic and optoelectronic devices.

This study aimed to investigate the osteo-inductive capacity of a fucoidan polysaccharide network derived from brown algae on human adipose-derived stem cells(HA-MSCs)for bone *** physiochemical properties of the scaffold including surface morphology,surface chemistry,hydrophilicity,mechanical stiffness,and porosity were thoroughly *** in vitro and in vivo measurements implied a superior cell viability,proliferation,adhesion,and osteo-inductive performance of obtained scaffolds compared to using specific osteogenic induction medium with increased irregular growth of calcium crystallites,which mimic the structure of natural *** scaffold was highly biocompatible and suitable for cell *** examinations,such as quantification of mineralization,alkaline phosphatase,gene expression,and immunocytochemical staining of pre-osteocyte and bone markers confirmed that HAD-MSCs differentiate into osteoblasts,even without an osteogenic induction *** study provides evidence for the positive relationship and synergistic effects between the physical properties of the decellularized seaweed scaffold and the chemical composition of fucoidan in promoting the osteogenic differentiation of ***,the natural matrices derived from brown seaweed offers a sustainable,cost-effective,non-toxic bioinspired scaffold and holds promise for future clinical applications in orthopedics.

An Automatic Hierarchical Delay Analysis Tool

The performance analysis of VLSI integrated circuits (ICs) with llat tools is slow and even sometimes impossible to complete. Some hierarchical tools have been developed to speed up the analysis of these large ICs. However, these hierarchical tools suffe from a poor interaction with the CAD database and poorly automatized operations. We introduce a general hierarchical framework for performance analysis to solve these problems. The circuit analysis is automatic under the proposed framework. Information that has been automatically abstracted in the hierarchy is kept in database properties along with the topological information. A limited software implementation of the framework, PREDICT, has also been developed to analyze the delay performance. Experimental results show that hierarchical analysis CPU time and memory requirements are low if heuristics are used during the abstraction process.

Effective point kinetic parameters calculation in Tehran research reactor using deterministic and probabilistic methods

The exact calculation of point kinetic parameters is very important in nuclear reactor safety assessment, and most sophisticated safety codes such as RELAP5, PARCS,DYN3D, and PARET are using these parameters in their dynamic models. These parameters include effective delayed neutron fractions as well as mean generation *** parameters are adjoint-weighted, and adjoint flux is employed as a weighting function in their *** flux calculation is an easy task for most of deterministic codes, but its evaluation is cumbersome for Monte Carlo codes. However, in recent years, some sophisticated techniques have been proposed for Monte Carlo-based point kinetic parameters calculation without any need of adjoint flux. The most straightforward scheme is known as the ‘‘prompt method'' and has been used widely in literature. The main objective of this article is dedicated to point kinetic parameters calculation in Tehran research reactor(TRR) using deterministic as well as probabilistic techniques. WIMS-D5B and CITATION codes have been used in deterministic calculation of forward and adjoint fluxes in the TRR core. On the other hand, the MCNP Monte Carlo code has been employed in the ‘‘prompt method''scheme for effective delayed neutron fraction *** results have been cross-checked with probabilistic ones and validated with SAR and experimental data. In comparison with experimental results, the relativedifferences of deterministic as well as probabilistic methods are 7.6 and 3.2%, respectively. These quantities are10.7 and 6.4%, respectively, in comparison with SAR report.

A meshless local Petrov–Galerkin method for solving the neutron diffusion equation

The goal of this study is to solve the neutron diffusion equation by using a meshless method and evaluate its performance compared to traditional methods. This paper proposes a novel method based on coupling the meshless local Petrov–Galerkin approach and the moving least squares approximation. This computational procedure consists of two main steps. The first involved applying the moving least squares approximation to construct the shape function based on the problem domain. Then, the obtained shape function was used in the meshless local Petrov–Galerkin method to solve the neutron diffusion *** the meshless method is based on eliminating the mesh-based topologies, the problem domain was represented by a set of arbitrarily distributed nodes. There is no need to use meshes or elements for field variable interpolation. The process of node generation is simply and fully automated, which can save time. As this method is a local weak form, it does not require any background integration cells and all integrations are performed locally over small quadrature domains. To evaluate the proposed method,several problems were considered. The results were compared with those obtained from the analytical solution and a Galerkin finite element method. In addition, the proposed method was used to solve neutronic calculations in thesmall modular reactor. The results were compared with those of the citation code and reference values. The accuracy and precision of the proposed method were acceptable. Additionally, adding the number of nodes and selecting an appropriate weight function improved the performance of the meshless local Petrov–Galerkin method. Therefore, the proposed method represents an accurate and alternative method for calculating core neutronic parameters.

Application of SALTMED and HYDRUS-1D models for simulations of soil water content and soil salinity in controlled groundwater depth

Salinization is a gradual process that should be *** is a suitable alternative technique that saves time and cost for the field *** the performance of the models should be evaluated using the measured ***,the aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the SALTMED and HYDRUS-1D models using the measured soil water content,soil salinity and wheat yield data under different levels of saline irrigation water and groundwater *** field experiment was conducted in 2013 and in this research three controlled groundwater depths,i.e.,60(CD60),80(CD80)and 100(CD100)cm and two salinity levels of irrigation water,i.e.,4(EC4)and 8(EC8)dS/m were used in a complete randomized design with three *** water content and soil salinity were measured in soil profile and compared with the predicted values by the SALTMED and HYDRUS-1D *** of the SALTMED and HYDRUS-1D models were carried out using the measured data under EC4-CD100 treatment and the data of the other treatments were used for *** statistical parameters including normalized root mean square error(NRMSE)and degree of agreement(d)showed that the values for predicting soil water content and soil salinity were more accurate in the HYDRUS-1D model than in the SALTMED *** NRMSE and d values of the HYDRUS-1D model were 9.6%and 0.64 for the predicted soil water content and 6.2%and 0.98 for the predicted soil salinity,*** indices of the SALTMED model were 10.6%and 0.81 for the predicted soil water content and 11.0%and 0.97 for the predicted soil salinity,*** to the NRMSE and d values for the predicted wheat yield(9.8%and 0.91,respectively)and dry matter(2.9%and 0.99,respectively),we concluded that the SALTMED model predicted the wheat yield and dry matter accurately.

Hydroxychloroquine serum concentration in coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)patients:a retrospective study

Algeria has adopted a therapeutic protocol using hydroxychloroquine(HCQ)as a first-line treatment for patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).The administration of HCQ must be accompanied by appropriate cardiac and therapeutic pharmacological monitoring to avoid side effects and *** work is a retrospective descriptive study aiming to estimate the HCQ levels of COVID-19 *** concentrations in blood samples from COVID-19 patients were determined using high performance liquid chromatography with diode array detector(HPLC-DAD)after liquid-liquid extraction of *** coefficient of determination(r2)of this method was *** limits of quantification and detection were 0.05 mg/L and 0.02 mg/L,respectively,with coefficients of variance less than 6%.Patient monitoring was performed following recommendations for the therapeutic pharmacological monitoring of HCQ in patients treated for SARS-CoV-2(COVID-19)infection validated by the coordinated action(AC43)of the National Agency for Research on AIDS and Viral Hepatitis(ANRS)and Therapeutic Pharmacological Monitoring and Personalization of Treatments(STP-PT)group.A total of 267 blood samples from 240 patients were analyzed,49%for males and 51%for *** than a third of the patients were 60-80 years *** majority(68%)of the HCQ concentrations were between 0.1 and 1 mg/***,more than 20%were between 0.05 and 0.1 mg/L,while only 7.5%were less than 0.05mg/L and 1.5%were greater than 1 mg/*** summary,patients with COVID-19 showed a good tolerance to HCQ in the majority of cases.

Background: Glycogenic hepatopathy(GH) is a disorder associated with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus,most commonly type 1, expressed as right upper quadrant abdominal pain, hepatomegaly and increased liver enzymes. The diagnosis may be difficult, because laboratory and imaging tests are not pathognomonic. Although GH may be suggested based on clinical presentation and imaging studies, the gold standard for diagnosis is a liver biopsy, showing a significant accumulation of glycogen within the hepatocytes. GH may be diagnosed also after elevated liver enzymes in routine blood tests. GH usually regresses after tight glycemic control. Progression to end-stage liver disease has never been reported. This review aims to increase the awareness to this disease, to suggest a pathway for investigation that may reduce the use of unnecessary tests, especially invasive *** sources: A Pub Med database search(up to July 1, 2017) was done with the words "glycogenic hepatopathy", "hepatic glycogenosis", "liver glycogenosis" and "diabetes mellitus-associated glycogen storage hepatopathy". Articles in which diabetes mellitus-associated liver glycogen accumulation was described were included in this ***: A total of 47 articles were found, describing 126 patients with GH. Hepatocellular disturbance was more profound than cholestatic disturbance. No synthetic failure was ***: GH may be diagnosed conservatively, based on corroborating medical history, physical examination, laboratory tests, imaging studies and response to treatment, even without liver biopsy. In case of doubt about the diagnosis or lack of clinical response to treatment, a liver biopsy may be *** is no role for noninvasive tests like fibroscan or fibrotest for the diagnosis of GH or for differentiation of this situation from nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
