The impairment of regenerative processes induced by high blood-glucose level(hyperglycemia) and excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS) contributes to the diabetic complication progression and development. In this study, an injectable, in situ crosslinkable chitosan hydrogel with ROS-scavenging capability was developed by conjugating gallic acid onto the chitosan backbone(CGA). We hypothesized that gallic acid serves as both antioxidant and crosslinking moieties to form hydrogel in situ by means of enzymatic crosslinking with horseradish peroxidase(hRP). The rapid gelation(from 30 s) was observed by vial tilting. The mechanical properties and microstructures of CGA hydrogels can be well controlled by varying the concentrations of h2O2. The ROSscavenging ability of these CGA hydrogels was demonstrated against DPPh radical, hydroxyl radical, and total reducing power. Notably, in an in vitro hyperglycemia environment, CGA hydrogels significantly improved the proliferation and migration of human dermal fibroblast cells, which are closely related to diabetic wound healing. These results suggest that CGA hydrogels have potential as advanced materials for the treatment of diabetes-related diseases via attenuating the excessive ROS production and improving cellular behaviors.

Calibrations were performed for three types of neutron ambient dose equivalent rate meters, i.e., Aloka TPS-451C (hitachi), KSAR1U.06 (Baltic Scientific Instruments), and Model 12-4 (Ludlum), using a standard field of a 241Am–Be source. The measured total neutron ambient dose equivalent rates, h*(10)' tot, were analyzed to obtain the direct neutron ambient dose equivalent rates, h*(10)' dir, using the ISO 8529-2-recommended generalized- fit method, semiempirical fit method, and reducedfitting method (RFM) fit methods. The calibration factor (CF), defined as the ratio between the conventional true value of the neutron ambient dose equivalent rates in a free field, h*(10)' FF, and h*(10)' dir, was evaluated as one of the important characteristics of the neutron meters in the present work. The fitting results show that the h*(10)' dir values of the meters are in good agreement within the theoretical data within 4%. The averaged CFs of the three neutron meters were evaluated as 0:99 ± 0:01, 1:00 ± 0.03;and 0:99 ± 0:08, respectively. The largest standard uncertainty of these values was determined to be approximately 18.47%(k =1). The standard uncertainty of the CFs obtained using the RFM method was less than 4.23%(k=1), which is the smallest uncertainty among the three methods.

?Ethene/norbornene copolymerization by the catalyst system [Me2Si（ 3- tertBuCp）（N tertBu）]TiCl2/MAO was investigated in detail at 30 ℃, 60℃, and 90℃. A mass flow controller was used in this work to obtain kine tic data and investigate tempera ture’s effects on activity, norbornene incorporation, copolymerization parameter , microstructure, glass transition temperature, and molar masses were described. h igh copolymerization values rE and high alternation are determined. The n umber of isotactic alternating sequences is much higher than that of the syndiot actic alter nating sequences.

AIMTo develop a novel helicobacter pylori (h. pylori) CagA antibody enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) suitable for detecting serum anti-CagA antibodies with high *** East Asian-type CagA protein was purified and immobilized for ELISA. Serum samples from 217 Vietnamese individuals (110 h. pylori-infected and 107 uninfected individuals) were applied. Conventional ELISA from Western-type CagA and our East Asian-type CagA ELISA were evaluated by comparing 38 subjects with the Western-type genotype and 72 subjects with the East Asian-type cagA genotype. histological scores of the gastric mucosa were determined using the updated Sydney System to examine the relationship with anti-CagA antibody *** 70-100 kDa fragments were immobilized on the ELISA plate. In ROC analysis, the area under the curve of our East Asian-type CagA ELISA was comparable to that of conventional CagA ELISA. The sensitivity of the two ELISAs differed depending on the cagA genotype. The sensitivity of East Asian-type CagA ELISA was higher for subjects infected with East Asian-type cagA h. pylori (P he sensitivity of the conventional CagA ELISA tended to be higher for subjects infected with Western cagA h. pylori (P = 0.056). The titer of anti-CagA antibody tended to correlate with monocyte infiltration scores (r = 0.25, P = 0.058) and was inversely correlated with h. pylori density (r = -0.26, P = 0.043).CONCLUSIONThe novel ELISA is useful to detect anti-CagA antibodies in East Asian countries, and the titer may be a marker for predicting chronic gastritis.

近两年我国电力突然短缺,已经引起政府的高度重视。由于我国风电发展的紧迫性和风电发展的潜力,特别是国际上正在如火如荼地开发风电的情景,中国- 奥地利政府间双边合作计划将风电评估列入2001～2003 年度合作计划,论文是该计划的成果之一。以我国吉林省为研究对象,采用广泛使用的风机选址算法和空间分布诊断程序( WAsP和ZAWIMOD2),运用数字地形图和遥感资料获得的土地利用图,进而得到数字化的表面粗糙度,再对吉林省的风能潜力进行估算。完成了近1km2 分辨率的距地面60m高度的风速和风能密度计算,并制作了它们的分布图。这是我国第一次在较大区域上估算距地面60m 高度的风速和风能密度,其方法对我国风电资源的评估有重要的借鉴作用。结果显示最有效的风能资源在吉林省的中西部地区,而南部和东部的高风资源区位于山脊和山顶,对风能的开发有一定的限制。

In this study, we evaluate the ecological impact of effluent cooling water from the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant II, using a two-dimensional hydraulic model to simulate thermal diffusion from the effluent outfall. Sites selected for this study were Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant and Vinh hai seawater in four different scenarios. This paper utilized the relationship between surface water temperature and the water temperature at a depth of -15 m to calculate the water temperature at intake and outlet at a depth of -14 m. A combination between the results of interpolated and results of model showed that effluent cooling water from Ninh Thuan plant affected the largest incidence about 2450 m in the North, 880 m in the South and 960 m in the West. It can be considered as safe distance to not to affect the coral reefs ecosystem in the North and sea turtle conservation area in the South. This study was first in this region to have an integrated approach using two-dimensional model.

Background In children, surveys on Staphylococcus aureus have focused on specific infections, situations or strains but no study has so far given an overview on S. aureus isolation without any selection. here, we describe the overall bacteriologi-cal and clinical characteristics of S. aureus isolation in children, with a special focus on isolates harbouringtst,sea, and/or luk-PV genes, respectively, encoding the three clinically relevant toxins: toxic shock syndrome toxin-1, enterotoxin A and Panton–Valentine leukocidin. Methods Data associated with S. aureus isolation were reviewed: isolation site, infection status,tst,sea andluk-PV genes, antimicrobial susceptibility pattern,agr typing. Results Three hundred and seventy-seven isolates retrieved from 328 children during S. aureus infection (55.2%) or colo-nisation (44.8%) were ***,sea and luk-PV genes were amplified in 14.3, 9.5 and 5.8% of the isolates, respectively. These isolates were significantly more frequently retrieved during infection (69.1%) than colonisation but differences were observed according to isolation site. Methicillin-resistance was found in 7.2% of the isolates, 78% of which harboured ≥ 1 of the targeted toxin-encoding genes. Conclusions This first comprehensive study of S. aureus in children showed S. aureus to be mainly retrieved during infection and a high rate of colonisation, not limited to the nasopharynx. Predominant infections were skin and soft tissue infections wheretst was most frequently ***-PV was most commonly detected during bone and joint infections. Isolates harbouring targeted toxin-encoding genes were significantly associated with infections but a quarter of children were asymp-tomatic carriers representing a reservoir for dissemination of isolates with virulence potency.
