Impact of chosen force fields and applied load on thin film lubrication

The rapid development of molecular dynamics(MD)simulations,as well as classical and reactive atomic potentials,has enabled tribologists to gain new insights into lubrication performance at the fundamental ***,the impact of adopted potentials on the rheological properties and tribological performance of hydrocarbons has not been researched *** extensive study analyzed the effects of surface structure,applied load,and force field(FF)on the thin film lubrication of *** lubricant film became more solid‐like as the applied load *** particular,with increasing applied load,there was an increase in the velocity slip,shear viscosity,and *** degree of ordering structure also changed with the applied load but rather *** was also significantly dependent on the surface *** chosen FFs significantly influenced the lubrication performance,rheological properties,and molecular *** adaptive intermolecular reactive empirical bond order(AIREBO)potential resulted in more significant liquid‐like behaviors,and the smallest velocity slip,degree of ordering structure,and shear stress were compared using the optimized potential for liquid simulations of united atoms(OPLS‐UAs),condensed‐phase optimized molecular potential for atomic simulation studies(COMPASS),and ***,classical potentials,such as OPLS‐UA and COMPASS,exhibit more solid‐like behavior than reactive potentials ***,owing to the solid‐like behavior,the lubricant temperatures obtained from OPLS‐UA and COMPASS were much lower than those obtained from AIREBO and *** increase in shear stress,as well as the decrease in velocity slip with an increase in the surface potential parameterζ,remained conserved for all chosen FFs,thus indicating that the proposed surface potential parameterζfor the COMPASS FF can be verified for a wide range of atomic models.

Investigation of crack segmentation and fast evaluation of crack propagation, based on deep learning

Identifying crack and predicting crack propagation are critical processes for the risk assessment of engineering *** traditional approaches to crack modeling are faced with issues of high computational costs and excessive computing *** address this issue,we explore the potential of deep learning(DL)to increase the efficiency of crack detection and forecasting crack ***,there is no single algorithm that can fit all data sets well or can apply in all cases since specific tasks *** the paper,we present DL models for identifying cracks,especially on concrete surface images,and for predicting crack ***,SegNet and U-Net networks are used to identify concrete *** gradient descent(SGD)and adaptive moment estimation(Adam)algorithms are applied to minimize loss function during ***,time series algorithms including gated recurrent unit(GRU)and long short-term memory(LSTM)are used to predict crack *** experimental findings indicate that the U-Net is more robust and efficient than the SegNet for identifying crack segmentation and achieves the most outstanding *** evaluation of crack propagation,GRU and LSTM are used as DL models and results show good agreement with the experimental data.

The present work is concerned with a two-dimensional(2D)Stokes flow through a channel bounded by two parallel solid *** distance between the walls may be arbitrary,and the surface of one of the walls can be arbitrarily *** main objective of this work consists in homogenizing the heterogeneous interface between the rough wall and fluid so as to obtain an equivalent smooth slippery fluid/solid interface characterized by an effective slip *** solve the corresponding problem,two efficient numerical approaches are elaborated on the basis of the method of fundamental solution(MFS)and the boundary element methods(BEMs).They are applied to different cases where the fluid/solid interface is periodically or randomly *** results obtained by the proposed two methods are compared with those given by the finite element method and some relevant ones reported in the *** comparison shows that the two proposed methods are particularly efficient and accurate.

A size-dependent computational approach for bending,free vibration and buckling analyses of isotropic and sandwich functionally graded(FG)microplates is in this study *** consider both shear deformation and small scale effects through the generalized higher order shear deformation theory and modified couple stress theory(MCST).The present model only retains a single material length scale parameter for capturing properly size effects.A rule of mixture is used to model material properties varying through the thickness of *** principle of virtual work is used to derive the discrete system equations which are approximated by moving Kriging interpolation(MKI)meshfree *** examples consider the inclusions of geometrical parameters,volume fraction,boundary conditions and material length scale *** and effectiveness of the present method are confirmed through numerical results.

Wall shear-stress extraction by an optical flow algorithm with a sub-grid formulation

In this study,we developed a novel optical-flow algorithm for determining the wall shear-stress on the surface of *** algorithm solves the thin-oil-film equation using a numerical scheme that recovers local features neglected by smoothing filters.A variational formulation with a smoothness constraint was applied to extract the global shear-stress *** algorithm was then applied to scalar images generated using direct numerical simulation(DNS)method,which revealed that the errors were smaller than those of conventional *** application of the proposed algorithm to recover the wall shear-stress on a low-aspect-ratio wing and on an axisymmetric boattail model taken as examples in this study showed a strong potential for analysing shear-stress *** to the methods used in previous studies,proposed method reveals more local features of separation line and singular points on object surface.

This paper distinguished hydrogen roles to improve electron mobility and carrier concentration in ZnO and Al doped ZnO sputtered *** combining experimental evidences and theoretical results,we find out that hydrogen located at oxygen vacancy sites(h_(O))is the main factor gives rise to increase simultaneously mobility and carrier concentration which has not been mentioned *** appropriate hydrogen content during sputtering not only results in crystalline relaxation but also supports doping Al into ZnO,increasing carrier concentration and electron mobility in the *** principles calculations confirmed hydrogen substitutional stability for oxygen vacancy,significantly reducing electron conductivity effective mass and hence increasing electron *** particular,0.8%hydrogen partial pressure ratio achieved 61 cm^(2)V^(-1)s^(-1)maximum electron mobility,optical transmittance above 82%in visible and near-infrared regions,and 2×10^(20) cm^(-3)carrier concentrations for h-Al co-doped ZnO *** values approach ideal electrical and optical properties for transparent conducting oxide *** presence of one maximum electron mobility was attributed to competition between increasing mobility due to restoring effective electron mass and hydrogen passivation of native defects,and decreased electron mobility due to electron-phonon scattering.

Nowadays,cloud computing has been identified as new opportunities for migrating to the expected agility,reuse,and adaptive capabilities that can support the ever changing IT trends and ***,the rapid evolution of those technologies also comes with open issues such as security,privacy,integrity,quality of services,and their possible detrimental *** this work,the concept of insurance is introduced to compensate the cloud computing customers when encountering those failures if service providers(SPs)have insurance ***,we consider the situation when the insurer is unable to see the system failure risk levels of the SPs,which is usually seen as an incomplete information market,in contrast with the optimal situation in a complete information ***,an insurance-based cloud computing architecture is proposed to build a monetary credit system in which the cloud computing SP pays a premium for a certain coverage to the ***,problem is formulated to solve the optimal insurance plan in complete and incomplete information markets,together with detail analysis of insurance policies in both cases are ***,simulation results show the properties of the two insurance plans and parameters that affect the design of the insurance plan.

Enhancement of water absorption capacity and compressibility of hydrogel sponges prepared from gelatin/chitosan matrix with different polyols

The hydrogel sponges have prepared successfully from gelatin/chitosan(GEL/CTS) matrix with different polyols basing on scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR) analysis. The results indicate that the compressibility and thermal properties(thermal gravimetric analysis, TGA) were improved significantly with adding the different polyols [poly(vinyl alcohol)-PVA, and poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(propylene glycol)-poly(ethylene glycol) – PEPEG] into GEL/CTS matrix. Specially, the as-prepared hydrogel sponges with superabsorbent behavior were also investigated with the attained water absorption capacity to 605 g gand 585 g gfor GCV＿1/1/0.3 and GCE＿1/1/0.3 sponges, respectively, as well as the excellent water absorption capacity in a wide range of p h and salt concentration. hence, these studies demonstrated that the hydrogel sponges are concerned as potential and promising candidates to apply especially in the fields of biomedicine and hygiene.

In this paper,we present analytical results for one-loop contributions to the decay processes h-Zvivi(for I=e,μ,T).The calculations are performed within the Standard Model framework in the't hooft-Veltman ***-loop form factors are then written in terms of scalar one-loop functions in the standard notations of *** a result,one-loop decay rates for the decay channels can be evaluated numerically by using the ***,we analyze the signals of h→Zvivi via the production processes e-e+→Zh*-Z(h*→Zν_(ι)ν_(ι)),including the initial beam polarizations at future lepton *** Standard Model backgrounds,such as the processes e-e+→ν_(ι)ν_(ι)ZZ,are also examined in this *** results indicate that one-loop corrections make contributions of approximately 10%to the decay *** are sizeable contributions and should be taken into account at future *** show that the signals h-Zν_(ι)ν_(ι)are clearly visible at the center-of-mass energy√s=250 GeV and are difficult to probe in higher-energy regions owing to the dominant backgrounds.
