Leishmaniasis is a vector-borne parasitic neglected tropical disease caused by a group of about 30 different species of the genus *** is transmitted by the bite of female phlebotomies sand *** main clinical manifestations of leishmaniasis include cutaneous,visceral,and mucocutaneous *** leishmaniasis(VL)caused by Leishmania donovani,is an infection of reticuloendothelial system and fatal if ***,a sterol that is prominent in the mammalian cell membranes whereas stigmasterol and ergosterol are more prevalent in plants,yeast,and protozoa,*** which is absent in human being,is an important constituent of parasite *** C-24 reductase(LdSR)enzyme catalyzes the final step in the ergosterol biosynthesis *** inhibition of biosynthesis of ergosterol may lead to decreased cell viability and ***,we performed the molecular docking-based virtual screening of a library of natural ligands against LdSR to identify a potential inhibitor to fight ***,prenyletin,flavan-3-ol,resveratrol,and gingerol showed the top binding affinity towards *** upon ADME properties and bioactivity score,gingerol showed the best lead-likeness and drug-likeness ***,we further annotated its leishmanicidal *** found that gingerol inhibited the growth and proliferation of promastigotes as well as intra-macrophagic *** exerted its antileishmanial action through the induction of reactive oxygen species(ROS)in concentration-dependent *** induced ROS led to ***,this study described that gingerol would act as possible inhibitor to LdSR.

The precise brain tumor diagnosis is critical and shows a vital role in the medical support for treating tumor *** brain tumor segmentation for cancer analysis from many Magnetic Resonance Images(MRIs)created in medical practice is a problematic and timewasting task for *** a result,there is a critical necessity for more accurate computeraided methods for early tumor *** remove this gap,we enhanced the computational power of a computer-aided system by proposing a finetuned Block-Wise Visual Geometry Group19(BW-VGG19)*** this method,a pre-trained VGG19 is fine-tuned with CNN architecture in the block-wise mechanism to enhance the system`s *** publicly accessible Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging(CE-MRI)dataset collected from 2005 to 2020 from different hospitals in China has been used in this *** proposed method is simple and achieved an accuracy of 0.98%.We compare our technique results with the existing Convolutional Neural network(CNN),VGG16,and VGG19 *** results indicate that our proposed technique outperforms the best results associated with the existing methods.

NH_(3)is an essential feedstock for fertilizer ***-scale NH_(3)synthesis mostly relies on the Haber-Bosch method,however,which suffers from massive CO_(2) emission and high energy *** NO_(3)-reduction is an attractive substitute to the Haber-Bosch method for synthesizing NH_(3)under mild *** this reaction will produce a variety of products,it highly desires efficient and selective electrocatalyst for NH_(3)***,we report in situ grown Fe_(3)O_(4)particle on stainless steel(Fe_(3)O_(4)/SS)as a high-efficiency electrocatalyst for NO_(3)^(-)reduction to NH_(3).In 0.1 M NaOH with 0.1 M NaNO_(3),such Fe_(3)O_(4)/SS reaches a remarkable Faradaic efficiency of 91.5%and a high NH_(3)yield of 10,145μg·h^(-1)·cm^(-2)at-0.5 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE).Furthermore,it owns robust structural and electrochemical *** work provides useful guidelines to expand the scope of metallic oxide electrocatalysts for NH_(3)*** catalytic mechanism is uncovered and discussed further by theoretical calculations.

Anuria as a Chief Presentation of Takayasu Arteritis

Takayasu vasculitis is a rare type of large vessel vasculitis that primarily affects the aorta and its main branches;signs and symptoms are usually due to systemic inflammation or ischemia of an organ or a limb, depending on the group of blood vessels involved. In addition, Takayasu arteritis is associated with increased platelet and coagulation activity, leading to a hypercoagulable state and thrombus formation. We report a case of a 47-year-old male who presented with a history of complete anuria for 3 days and was found to have progressively worsening kidney function. Renal Doppler ultrasound confirmed the presence of bilateral renal artery thrombosis, while contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) of the abdomen and pelvis showed extensive abdominal aortic thrombosis with radiological findings consistent with large vessel vacuities. After catheter-directed thrombolytic therapy of the renal arteries, the patient started producing urine and his kidney function significantly improved. Later, positron emission tomography scan (PET) confirmed large vessel Takayasu arteritis. Echocardiography showed no intracardiac thrombus, along with an extensive work-up for thrombophilia, as autoimmune and vasculitis serology came back negative. This is an extremely rare presentation of Takayasu arteritis, with an unusual recovery of acute renal failure after prolonged anuria due to bilateral renal artery thrombosis.

Organic-inorganic hybrid Sn-based perovskite photodetectors with high external quantum efficiencies and wide spectral responses from 300 to 1000 nm

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites are ideal materials for photodetection owing to their high charge carrier mobility, long charge carrier diffusion length, low dark current density and sharp absorption edge. However, a relatively small band gap(1.6 e V) limits their photonharvesting efficiency in the near-infrared region. In the present work, we demonstrate a hybrid methylamine iodide and Pb-Sn binary perovskite as the light absorption layer in photodetectors. Experimentally, the wavelength of photoresponse onset for the photodetectors can be extended to as great as 1,000 nm when the Sn content of the hybrid perovskite is increased to 30 mol%. In addition, the photodetectors exhibit a photoresponsivity of 0.39 A W^-1, a specific detectivity of 7×10^12 Jones, a fast photoresponse with rise and decay time constants and an external quantum efficiency greater than 50% in the wavelength range of350–900 nm, with a maximum value of about 80% at 550 nm.

Toxoplasmosis among Saudi Female Students in Al-Ahssa, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Awareness and Risk Factors

background: Toxoplasmosis is a worldwide disease that severely affects the fetuses and immunocompromised patients and results in many critical and life threatening conditions. The present study aimed to evaluate the awareness of toxoplasmosis and its preventive behaviors among female students in King Faisal University in Al-Ahssa. Subjects and methods: A cross sectional study was conducted in April 2014 among female students in KFU. The data were collected by a questionnaire from 88 participants. Results: Results showed that 65.4% were not aware of toxoplasmosis, and only 28.2% were aware of its complications or risk factors. This study showed that some people are at risk to get toxoplasmosis as they do not wash their hands with water and soap before eating (48.8%), do not wash the fruits and vegetables with water and soap (78.2%), drink tank water (51.3%) and cat owners don’t follow the proper measures for their cats. However, some people practice some of the preventive behaviors as they do not raise the cats (93.6%) and do not consume unpasteurized or unboiled milk (100%) or undercooked meat (92.3%). Conclusion: The current study proved the low awareness of toxoplasmosis which emphasized the need to educate the people in Al-Ahssa about the preventive methods, especially the pregnant women to prevent the severe complications of congenital infections.

DroidData: Tracking and Monitoring Data Transmission in the Android Operating System

Most of the millions of Android users worldwide use applications from the official Android market (Google Play store) and unregulated alternative markets to get more functionality from their devices. Many of these applications transmit sensitive data stored on the device, either maliciously or accidentally, to outside networks. In this paper, we will study the ways that Android applications transmit data to outside servers and propose a user-friendly application, DroidData, to inform and protect the user from these security risks. We will use tools such as TaintDroid, AppIntent, and Securacy to propose an application that reveals what types of data are being transmitted from apps, the location to which the data is being transmitted, whether the data is being transmitted through a secure channel (such as HTTPS) and whether the user is aware that the information is being transmitted. The application will generate a report that allows the user to block the application that leaks sensitive information. In doing so, we will examine the importance, relevance, and prevalence of these Android Data security issues.

background Although epilepsy has been acknowledged as an illness since ancient time,the public attitude toward epilepsy has not changed drastically due to the lack of appropriate *** study aims to determine the public perceptions of epilepsy in five main regions of Saudi *** In this cross-sectional questionnaire-based study,Saudi citizens living in the major cities of the five main regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia(the central,eastern,western,northern,and southern regions)completed the survey that included 27 questions about epilepsy *** A total of 7118 individuals from five regions participated in the survey:6749(94.8%)of respondents were Saudi,and 369(5.2%)were *** the 7118 respondents,6897 respondents(96.9%)did not have epilepsy,and 3378 respondents(47.5%)stated that they had never witnessed an epileptic *** addition,3749(52.7%)respondents incorrectly attributed epilepsy to non-neurologic conditions,and 4865(68.3%)respondents had an overall negative attitude toward people with epilepsy(PWE).They expressed objections to their child associating with PWE(2002;28.1%)or their close relatives marrying PWE(3192;44.8%),some believed that PWE are inferior(402;5.6%),refused to hire a PWE(1126;15.8%),and would feel discomfort around PWE(724;10.3%).In addition,2025 individuals(28.4%)believed that the health of PWE deteriorates over time;1485 individuals(20.9%)believed that PWE get sick more often than others;181 individuals(2.5%)believed that epilepsy could be transmitted;and 568 individuals(8.0%)believed that epilepsy could progress to malignant *** In Saudi Arabia,there is a substantial need for increasing the awareness and improving education on epilepsy in order to reduce stigma and increase the understanding of *** efforts could help improve the lives of people afflicted with the disease and ultimately contribute to better health outcomes for the entire community.
